Yes. I will suggest you extend your portfolio especially if you have a huge amount of money. At least there are coins that will serve as your back up.

If you want to invest for the long term, you only need to invest a little, such as the etheric currency and bitcoin, and these are good choices for long-term investments!
If you want to invest in the short term, I think it's best to trade, but remember, you set a profit limit for yourself and set your own limits!

My first investment in crypto was like you 500 USD in one coin on ICO and currently  I am x3 profit which is noy bad but could be better. My friends made around x60 profit on other coin. So now I am changing my strategy and I will spres in few coins. In that way there is more chance that you will get x10 or x30 coin.

Too risky indeed, try not to settle on just 1 coin because there's no guarantee that the coins your holding will last. Better to spread out your investment.

Its too risky if you only hold it in one coin but if you have done some really deep research and trust the project it may become your jackpot. Like when i buy dent for only $500 and now become $35k. Its all depend on what project and is the developer really have competencies for executing the project.

No way, man. As an investor you ought to use a diversification. It's not about what do you want or not, it's like a golden rule of investing. Whatever amount you want to invest you should diversify investments like 70% to 3-5 top-10 coins and 30% to 2-5 low cap promising projects.

This sounds promising profits out of such investments. Select few top 10 altcoins in the current market from coinmarketcap.com. Watch out the recent growth trend of each altcoins. The top ones have a spike of minimum of $100 in recent days. Select such coins along with one you have chosen. All the best.

A very old rule-not to invest all the money in one asset, is certainly relevant for altcoins. For example, I distribute money between different altcoins and it helps me to react more flexibly to changes in the market. So I can reduce losses.

 - BISQ TOR decentrilized exchange integration (from BISQ v6.2)

 - Future mobile stealth staking android app (SPV client) Q2 2018

 - TOR + obfuscation for countries where it is prohibited or blocked

Other coins with worse tech EV is billions
XSPEC is only about 100 mills

it was about 8 mills in the beginning of December

It will 1b+ in Q2 2018, when groundbreaking Stealth Staking algorithm, first in crypto will get released

Do the math

Yes that is way too risky. You need to get spread out. Obviously it's nice to be all in one coin and have it spike and make a killing, but if it drops, you're screwed! Build your portfolio with many different coins.

Better choose 10-12 different coins,2-3 from top 10,two more from top 100,and top 200 and etc.Search for the most undervalued and promising coins.
Good idea, we can not know coins that give big advantage.
and maybe one of the coins we choose is a good coin and gives a big advantage.
only for people who have big capital / whales

Hi,
the altocoin market is so variuous and there are dozen of interesting projects that can be supported.

But  i'm a little investor (500$) and i'm seriously thinking to put all my money in only 1 project I think is very good which curretly is in the top 40 of altcoins. I don't want to say the name because my topic wants to be very general: what do you think is the risk  by doing so? Should I invest in 2 or 3 coins instead?

Thanks

It is risky but not a bad decision. Because of the investment is low according to crypto market. It is better for you to take more risk to get good profit. 500 usd is a bit low to divide to different things. you will loose money even for transaction fees and exchange fees etc.

Of course, it's better to have a bigger risk and reserve options if you do not get one, you can win in another, but you do not have to do everything in one

I think it is incredibly risky that focuse on just one coin. In my opinion, this currencies are not suitable for that and I think you should get 2 or 3 more coins.

All in is just a more dispersive game - you risk more = get more or lose more. If you think one of altcoins is much more perspective than others, you realise the risk and still want to go for it - why not?

Go big or go home i love that way of thinking but it doesnt belong in crypro world as if you get i wrong you will have to wait long time for profit or even worse coin gets abandoned you stay without money. All in imo is fine only with large cap coins like etherium that will go up for sure in the next period of time

It is a big risk to go all in.

How much you have to invest is not really important for that decision, you should always diversify a bit even if you start with $50.

I suggest you to split in 3, for something a bit safe $200 in BTC then $150 in 2 others projects.

or you can try something like this :

$200 in BTC
$150 in STRAT
$75 in an other project
$75 in an other project

i suggest invest in tron it should be best option for this year. investing in one coin doest seems bad for you. but spliting thr coin is not bad idea cause you might got a profit from one of the coin you hold and you. able to hold and sell it at the same time.

No, it's not very risky, if you chose a good coin from the TOP-20. But if you bought rubbish and hope that it will make you rich, then I must upset you ...

This a very bad advice... How can you guarantee all top 20 coins will thrive? Some of them can actually disappear sooner than they are catapulted to stardom. Being in the top 20 only shows someone decided to invest in a project. But that same someone can chance its mind at any moment...
