I've got some AMP and RADS right now so those alts are totally worth buying

No, but the mentioned coins might go up (somewhat) in the short term. ETH has shot up into the stratosphere but scooping up ETH at this point is akin to gambling from my point of view; not certain if the price is incredibly inflated right now and starts nosediving within days, or really becomes huge in the coming weeks/months and dwarfs 'traditional' alts like LTC, NMC and PPC.

yeah, it is the best option for those people who are not that active in trading. it is best for them to hold bitcoin and wait for the price rise.
but for those who are actively trading the stable market of bitcoin is not so good (low chance of profiting) so they enter altcoin market, earn some profit and by the time bitcoin started moving they dump all their altcoins and come back to bitcoin market.

I think if I look back within the last weeks Decred have done everything right. It started just with a press release mid of December and now it’s getting really huge, with a very good media coverage, a big community with a lot of veterans and a very smooth and professional start today. I think buying Decred could make sense, it’s probably one of the strongest Alts 2016 and I’m confident we will get into the top 10 of the coin market cap.

If by "potential" you mean things like plain $$$-value, than any altcoin is as good to gamble upon.
If by "potential" you also mean intrinsic value, I would recommend Gulden.
Most altcoins do not have any potential. They are just scam coins to make the "developer" rich at the cost of the community.

Right now i think DOGED is still a very good buy.
The price has climbed a little which means it's just waitng for momentum to start.

Doge is a joke of a coin but I agree that it's good for speculation and a range around 60 is a good buy in my opinion if you are willing to hold until the next pump.
Bitbay is a coin with a good developer.
Before I liked ambercoin too, but these days it turn out to be a scam to. At least for me.
