Altcoins whold be bright future more than bitcoin and ethereum. Already we can see some days xrp market capitalization passing ethereum. This is a cryptocurrency trending duration with new transaction solution. Anyway good altcoins will be hit in next year crypto cycle.
It is difficult to identify any altcoins in which we could be sure. The market is so transient that today one project is at the top, tomorrow the same project will already be forgotten and the developers will simply close it.
Now good coins have coinmarketcap for invest to longterms. Because short-term tradings are not suitable for nw due to unpredictable market conditions. Sometimes may be good my opinion coins for hold longterm tradings as follows.

The Altcoins will still have their position among all this zoo. Because now many projects are at the very bottom, and maybe this bottom is not the last. But many companies will make tokens in the future.

there is no big development will be seen by us in the recent times so if you want to trade you can definitely do but my opinion is holding will always be profitable at the end.

Altcoin in the future is very dependent on bitcoin because the movement of bitcoin has had a considerable impact on the cryptocurrency market at this time so it's likely that if bitcoin increases it will increase
if we talk about futures, it is better to buy bitcoin, I think bitcoin will be more valuable than altcoin.

There are many coins which are reasonable for this such as Ethereum, Ripple, Cardano, Neo, Litecoin and Monero
Nowadays if you are holding, be sure you understand what you are into, you've done proper due diligence on the coins you are holding and you are willing to take the risks involved. Your best bet will be ETH for me right now. Also, VET and XLM looks OK. Please note that this is not an investment advise, it's just my opinion, thanks.

Ethereum will be my suggestion to invest, why? Because I think this coin is a well-known coin in altcoins just like bitcoin, if you want to invest in altcoin that will be my suggestion, it is also the most usable coin in altcoin and for me, it is next to bitcoin in terms of popularity.

I'm also more interested in long-term retention of certain coins and so I can say what I bought (and I think rightly so), such coins as Ethereum, EOS, Ripple, ADA, OMG, Binance and Litecoin.
The cryptocurrency market is constantly changing and now it is difficult to find some good investment project. But I think that investing in Bitcoin and some top coins can make a good profit.
Just like your topic of this post, altcoin is definitely for the future. If traders depended on just bitcoin, I don't think they will still be in business. While choosing an altcoin, shine your eyes to avoid later regrets.
Any coin that have great potential is OK to hold for long term basis all that is needed is for you to look out for coins that have good potential to succeed in the market and then invest in them for a long term, but if I must advice you can look into mb8 coin which are still at they ICO stage and will definitely cone out successful cause they have a working product.
it all depends on the research that you do and your belief in the altcoin because everyone will have a different view in determining the investment, but if I think a long-term investment that has little risk of ETH XRP XLM ADA
