Time shows that holding alts wasnt a good idea, otherwise u sold it in early January lol. I think this crazy volatility dont make you sleeping calmly.

I would consider long term investments such as Ethereum and EOS. Both coins deserve a good place in the top and their performance is likely to grow over time.
For the present the great altcoin to hold is ripple (xrp), bitcoin and eth coin they have a decent estimation of a coin when they pump it is too high and you can acquire huge similar to alternate coins when they pump the esteem is just little. Ethereum and Ripple are the coins that will be good to hodl especially if its long term. Both of the coin shows a lot of pump potential and I am positive that it can multiple its value once the bear market starts to recover. After 2 years, there will be a lot of coins that will die but those two I have mention will remain and be one of the most strongest alts.
2-3 years too long, it's better to choose what is definitely an altcoin that has fast movements such as bitcoin and ethereum it's more promising that it can hold long term

Of course it is possible that altcoin only all this time waiting for the very moment when you can start to be implemented, while developing and price and all the features.
There are many Altcoins that you can hold in your portfolio but the time frame you have mentioned is not challenging. If you have a very good coin then hold as many as more time. But, my suggestion is if you get to profit from some coins whether it be 2 years or three years then suddenly accumulate the funds and cash out and enjoy the money.
i've already taken 10 altcoins for a long time. This XVG, tron, NEM, ADA, eos and other. In my opinion, one of these coins can shoot well.
I am afraid EOS is still overhyped still relatively not big decrease sinca ATH -74.18% according to https://athcoinindex.com/ while most of the project at least 80% drop, many over 90% decrease. It could be good opportunity if we will have bull market return soon, otherwise I'd rather wait for price crash; cause even the best coins will drop at least 90% I am afraid
It is too risky to hold altcoins for 2-3 years specially those that are new in the market and the value is small. I believe it is better to hold coins in the top 10 or hold btc and ethereum. Those two are solid and will stay here in crypto world.
