Bei Wirex hat es jedenfalls wieder ein Update gegeben, auch wenn es für mich nicht zufriedenstellend ist...
Dear xxx,
Thank you for getting in touch with us.
We sincerely apologize for any stress and inconvenience caused by declined transactions.
Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing technical difficulties related to physical Wirex card functionality. The interruption in the debit card service for EEA customers is caused by the problems on the side of our card partner, UAB Payrnet. While we are actively working to restore physical card functionality as quickly as possible, we suggest using a virtual card as a temporary solution. You can also link Wirex virtual card to Curve to pay offline via their physical card or Apple Pay/Google Pay. It's important to note that all other Wirex services remain unaffected.
Considering the above, we are currently transitioning to a new card provider. This transition includes a process known as BIN migration, where we are switching our card transaction services in the EEA to Transact Payments Malta Limited.
Below you will find some useful points about the migration process and how you can keep track of upcoming updates:
What is BIN migration?BIN stands for Bank Identification Number, which constitutes the first six digits of your card. This migration process entails a configuration change on Mastercard's side, wherein the BIN is reassigned from one entity to another.
Current status of the process We are pleased to share that the BIN migration process has been approved by Mastercard. The necessary forms have been signed by Wirex, and we are currently in the execution phase of the process. We're closely monitoring each step to ensure a seamless transition.
Will my card continue to function? Yes. Your card will continue to function as usual. Once the BIN migration is complete, your card usage will be reinstated and remain unaffected.
What is the timeline for this transition? Our teams at Wirex, Mastercard, and Transact Payments Malta Limited are actively working to complete this transition. This process typically takes at least a few days, but we will provide updates on our progress as we go.
Will other services be impacted? No. All other Wirex services, including bank and crypto transfers, will continue to operate as usual during this transition.
How can I keep track of this process? We understand that you may want to stay informed about this process. To this end, we have several channels in place to keep you updated:
