Hello everyone,

Our first press release of 2016 was a resounding success. Over 130 media outlets picked up the release, and several crypto related websites re-posted the release. We received numerous media and corporate inquiries regarding Bytecent, the Bytecent rewards platform, and our implementation of blockchain technology. The press release was just the first step of our 2016 media rollout, and you can expect more later this month.

Yesterday we began submitting the new Bytecent client to over 100 download websites and software blogs. Nearly a year after our initial Bytecent release, we finally feel Bytecent is ready for primetime. We put a tremendous amount of thought and effort into Bytecent 2.0, and the latest version is significantly easier to understand than previous versions. We anticipate our efforts will attract new users outside of crypto, and we expect network activity to increase over the next several weeks.

Recently Cryptsy closed doors, and regrettably we are back to trading on one exchange. I do not control which exchanges add Bytecent, and we have been proactive with reaching out to exchanges. I have decided to offer bounties to help facilitate Bytecent being added to other exchanges. Anyone who is directly responsible for assisting with Bytecent being added to any exchange, with daily volume over $100,000, will receive $500 in BTC. I am awarding a total of $2000 in BTC. So this means for each person responsible for getting Bytecent added to an exchange,  they will receive $500 per each exchange up to 4 exchanges. You must contact me prior to Bytecent being added to an exchange to claim your bounty. Once the market is open, and trading begins, I will instantly send the BTC. If you have any questions, contact me directly.

Lastly, do not forget to join our newsletter: http://bytecent.com/introduction.php  The submission form is located at the bottom of the page. Our newsletter is the best way to stay updated on Bytecent news and free giveaways.

I want to thank everyone for their continued support, and stay tuned for more news later this week.

Best,
Christopher

Hello everyone!

We have now added a full and update version of the wallet: http://bytecent.com/download.php

The full version is intended for anyone installing Bytecent for the first time. The full version includes preloaded blockchain data. Note: If you already have Bytecent installed on your computer, please install the update version!

Each month the full version will be updated with the most recent blockchain data. This will drastically reduce syncing time for anyone installing Bytecent for the first time.

Best,
Christopher

Hi was the Press release submitted to CoinDesk? I didn't catch it in there if it still hasn't I think it's a good idea to have it published there.

http://www.coindesk.com/press-release-submission/

I know a lot of RSS syndicators are also getting their feed from there and that would really improve visibility aside from the huge traffic CoinDesk has.

Congrats on that, let's get the press release to multiple news agencies and start making deals with companies. A central rewards network that is active on a lot of online shops is a real good product IMO.

Hi Lumeire,

The press release goes out next week.

Using the blockchain to solve everyday problems and reduce cost is where blockchain technology is headed. Bytecent not only makes it significantly easier to run and maintain a rewards program, it is also a cheaper option.

How long does Bittrex usually process withdrawals for BYC? It's been 20 minutes till the status was 'completed' but it still doesn't appear on the blockchain.

for 5 minutes usially

Right? Usually I get the withdrawals almost instantly after it being 'completed' on their side.

But anyway, I grabbed something to eat out for dinner and when I came back it was there. Probably took an hour. We really should get BYC on other exchanges, if something happens to BittrEX it's gonna be a huge problem.

I'm dropping by Polo to see what I can do.

+1000 in regards to Bytecent on other exchanges, especially Polo. We had Bytecent on Cryptsy, and then we all know what happened to Cryptsy. In the past I have urged the community to keep contacting Polo and request to have Bytecent added. I will reach out to Polo again this week. After 1 year+, it doesn't make sense that Bytecent is still not listed there.

In regards to Bittrex, the transaction time vary. Anywhere from a couple of minutes, to as much as 60 minutes. It has nothing to do with Bytecent or our network. Unfortunately, at times Bittrex has "lag" issues.

I've had a big variation in it lately, few times it has taken well over 30 minutes, but usually in couple of minutes or even seconds.

Why is this?

New wallet, new address, worked 2 days and again that.

If you have a dynamic IP address (IP address changes), then you will need to create a new POB Bytecent address each time your IP address changes.

So mining is done trough staking? And requires a minimum of bytecents right?

No, Bytecent is POW not POS. However, Bytecent was designed for consumer solo mining. There are no pools, just individual miners. We have a system in place called Proof of Bytecent (POB). This means if you want to mine longer than 60 minutes at a time, you need to have Bytecent in your wallet. The more Bytecent you have, the longer you can mine up to 24 hours. But unlike Proof of Stake, you can spend your coins anytime you like, they are not "locked".

Just purchased a couple of BYC, looks promising to me.

Can you redirect me toward the right link to get me started on generating more of these? How it works exactly? Is this like mining them?

Hello Kuriko,

Welcome to the community!

To get started mining Bytecent you can download the wallet here: http://bytecent.com/download.php

On Monday, I will be uploading a "full version" of the wallet which will have the blockchain already preloaded, so new users will not have to wait hours for their wallets to sync.

Also, in a few day we are adding our video tutorial section, and our first video tutorial on how to use Bytecent...etc..etc
