Installing cloudflare would likely compromise anonymity of anyone who uses them
Theymos puts it like this:
Cloudflare is very probably an NSA honeypot

https://bit.ly/387FXHi lightning theory
.com is currently under DDOS.
Install cloud flare ??
Seems attack still going really sucks
Installing cloudflare would likely compromise anonymity of anyone who uses them after that (cloud flare would be able to see things like a session token, deposit address and a lot of other information - like the user's individual ip address).

They're a bit of a monopoly too so they likely already sell a lot of data/mine it themselves (CF).

.onion v2 is working.

it's not safe to keep using V2 addresses.  At this point it's safer to use clearnet with a VPN for IP masking.
Using v2 address is better than using VPN.

v2 address has weaker cryptography but it does not mean it is not safe. They are as safe as year ago.
v2 addresses allowed to find all existing v2 addresses. ChipMixer v2 address is public - it does not make ChipMixer v3 address safer.
v2 addresses could be blocked. If ChipMixer v2 address is blocked it does not make it unsafe. Blocking .com address reachable with VPN is more common.

I believe it surely Chipmixer will migrate to v3 before Tor Browser not supporting the v2 address.
We will.

Maybe while he's at it he'll upgrade to SegWit addresses also.  Grin
v3 address is not only change that is coming soon.

I have just sent you guys an email regarding my session. So far I have more than 16 confirmation on blockchain,
but the mixer part of my session still shows 0.000BTC because your system has somehow not credited me the coins I sent yet.
Can you guys please fix this I need those coins urgently.
If you sent us email with your deposit address - it should be solved already.

There is no need to rush with implementing V3 Tor addresses, because if I remember correctly few months ago there was a big attack and bug found in them that resulted in halting complete v3 Tor network.
Yeah. The few directory authority were overloaded and couldn't generate a live consensus, which the client at that time needed for v3 address. v2 should've been deprecated for sometime now, it can become a security/privacy risk[1].
V3 addresses are however generally better than older v2 addresses, they have stronger cryptography, and Bitcoin supports them, so it Chipmixer will adopt them sooner or later.
It's getting deprecated anyways, but of course the sooner the better. They are already deprecating the code by the mid of the month. V3 is just better than V2 in every way.

It should continue to be until September, but it's not safe to keep using V2 addresses.  At this point it's safer to use clearnet with a VPN for IP masking.
Probably not such a great idea. V2 addresses are not critically insecure, they're still okay for normal use but their end of life is long overdue. V3 is of course better, but I'd rather stick with Tor than use a VPN.

VPN is okay if you want to obfuscate your traffic from your local ISP. But the VPN provider will be able to see your traffic and do some fingerprinting as well, if you use their proprietary apps. There is still a potential for them to be keeping logs or are corporative with any mass surveillance. Besides, Tor bundles a nice browser with sufficient privacy measures as well.

To be precise Tor Browser should be supporting v2 addresses until 15 October 2021 since they will upgrade the browser to use Tor > 0.4.x.

Anyway, I notice the v2 technical problem on https://lists.torproject.org/pipermail/tor-dev/2020-June/014365.html. Does it is indeed safer to use clearnet with VPN for IP masking?

I don't know why it's taking ChipMixer so long to upgrade, but hopefully he does so soon.  Maybe while he's at it he'll upgrade to SegWit addresses also.  Grin

So when will ChipMixer move to v3 onion service?
Plan was to add v3 around middle of May 2021. It did not happen. External dead lines are:

July 15th, 2021
0.4.6.x: Tor will no longer support v2 and support will be removed from the code base.

October 15th, 2021
We will release new Tor client stable versions for all supported series that will disable v2.

This onion site will not be reachable soon. Please contact the site administrator and encourage them to upgrade.

Tor is ending its support for version 2 onion services beginning in July 2021, and this onion site will no longer be reachable at this address. If you are the site administrator, upgrade to a version 3 onion service soon.

Farewell, Leo
I would suggest you use the onion link via Tor - http://chipmixerwzxtzbw.onion/ - in the meantime. I can confirm it is still working normally.

Yep, it works on Tor. Thanks.

Hi, the website does not respond no matter the times that I refresh it.
This seems to be a recurring issue from a few days ago:

At least one of .ru email does not accept protonmail emails. Email with voucher bounced. We have redeemed your voucher at your session. Please check your session again.

Also from what I understand you emailed @Chipmixer with 3 different emails. it won't make it go any faster.
If we are not responding after 24 hours - sending us another letter with different email may help.

He can't "see your message" in the mail since @LoyceV is not an admin or employee of the website. He's just trying to help you to identify your problem.

What do you call a "very long time" to get an answer? 24h? I understand it can be frustrating when it comes to money but I'm sure your problem will be solved in a timely manner

Don't worry, they don't sleep on the desk, they will surely come back to you in some hours

Thanks for the answer. Hopefully they will answer your mail soon.

Faced a problem. Help. Created a session and did a translation, but the system didn't see my payment. Where can I write or how to restore the medium?
It sounds like this problem:
Small amount of deposit transactions get stuck in our system lately. If that happened to you - contact us and we will do manual fix. Proper fix is expected later date.
Missing deposits reported to support were resolved but main issue is still there. If you deposit and are unlucky - you may not get your chips after one confirmation.

Ha posty wrote yesterday waiting for an answer.
I'm not sure what you're saying here. You should email Support.
