I posted in BayAreaCoins' thread about getting Curecoin listed on his exchange, and he said he'd consider it.  We shall see what comes of that.

I like everything I see here... we should be able to list this no problem.

I'll speak with Xploited today when he wakes up. Smiley

Edit:  2% of the total reward was distributed to people who donated to project development. The other 3% is dedicated to Curecoin developers

Who are these folks ^ are they still around?

No idea if they are around or not.
But I can say they have not reached out to me despite a few attempts at pinging them.
At a guess, it's all a side project for them and they get to stuff when they get to it.
OR
They only respond to communication from certain places that I have not found yet.

As others have pointed out above, if you are going to use video cards / your PC to mine there are many much more profitable things to mine.
If you are going to use them to run folding@home anyway because it really is a worthwhile project, then it throws off a few pennies a day and why not.

Awesome!  Check your PO box in the next couple of weeks--this isn't a bribe or payment to list Curecoin, just a gift which I'm sure you already know the nature of.  But man, the mail has been moving at 1/2 a snail's pace lately and some of the letters I've sent out never even arrived.  The USPS must be in serious trouble.

Who are these folks ^ are they still around?
If you're talking about the Curecoin team, I have no idea.  A lot of links on the Curecoin website are dead, which leads me to believe that there's not much developing going on.  But it's still an excellent coin because of what it stands for, which is a reward for helping the scientific community crunch numbers.  DaveF might have a better idea, but I'm not sure.

For a PC with 0.3 CURE per day or equivalent of 9 doge per day, that is surely burning cash.  PC cost electricity per day is about 90 doge per day.
That would be true if I was only using it to fold and earn CURE, but I'm not.  It was on 24/7 before I started with the folding project, so earning crypto by staking and helping the folding @ home project is just a little extra computing power and I'm not worried about it.

If you just wanted to stake CURE or any other proof of stake coin you could do so on a raspberry pi, laptop, or whatever computer you have running.  I don't think it uses much *extra* electricity to stake coins, tho it does use a lot to participate in the folding project.  That's OK, tho.  As I said I am not in this for the money primarily but to help scientists fight diseases by contributing some of my computing power.  I fell in love with the project the moment I read about it, which was admittedly years too late but so be it.

Not much. I have a pair of GTX 1660 and I'm getting ~4.5 a day
You could probably earn far more than that by staking so long as you have enough in your wallet, and given that the price of a single CURE is around 7 cents it isn't that costly to acquire a lot of it.

That's if you can find an exchange to buy it on, tho.  I am still awaiting some sell orders on shorelinecrypto, and my instincts are telling me that there have to be some F@H participants on the Curecoin team who want to sell their CURE.  They must all be doing it on Bittrex I'm assuming, because there aren't many other options.  Hope you guys' efforts to get the word out about shoreline lead to a more liquid market there, as it's very dead at the moment.

As much as I like CURE, I'm way more interested in the science that's being done with the distributed computing of F@H.  That's why I do it, not for the paltry CURE that I earn.  I just got a HP mini PC and set it up to fold, and I think it'll be worth about 60,000 points per day.  On my main desktop with an old graphics card, I'm doing about 100k points per day, tho it varies.  With just the desktop, that translated to about 0.3 CURE per day.  Whoop-de-doo.

I am curious, if I run Nvidia GTX 1050 card 24 hours a day folding@home for curecoin, how much CURE I can earn on this GPU per day?

Not much. I have a pair of GTX 1660 and I'm getting ~4.5 a day
If you are in it just for profit there are betting things to mine.
But, it's the it's for a good cause, not just burning electricity to mine.
A mid range CPU will not get you much, but it will draw a lot less power.

-Dave

Got it, yes, this is quite expensive way of earning, essentially donating to the good cause. Just did a benchmark,
1660 card is about 2.2x faster than 1050, you have two GTX 1660 on 4.5 CURE a day, equivalent of 1 CURE for GTX 1050 card.
This would be well below electricity cost.

I posted on their discord channel as did honglu69 who runs the exchange.
The Pharmacist posted on their main forum.
Going to have to get to

twitter : https://twitter.com/CureCoin_Team
reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/curecoin/
facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Curecoin/

Just going to take a little time to get the word out.
Not to mention between Christmas / New Years / everything else going on there are probably fewer people actively looking at some of this stuff at the moment.

edit: there are no sell orders at the moment (9PM EST 29-Dec) the ones @30 & @35 both sold.

Just about anyone who plays with alts has doge and you are not getting hit with the insane BTC tx fees.
I did play around with dogecoin some years ago, but it isn't a coin that I've held in any quantity since about 2016.  Looks like the market for all the coins listed on shorelinecrypto is pretty thin, but now that you got CURE listed there I'm hoping that changes and that they don't just go out of business suddenly.

Not that hard to get ahold of some dogecoin, which I did and deposited it on shorelinecrypto for some CURE.  Too bad there's only 1 sell order right now and its for 30 dogecoin/CURE and that's too high.  There have to be far more people interested in buying & selling CURE, because protein folders are earning it with the Curecoin team.  They must all have Bittrex accounts I'm assuming but I wish there was an efficient way to spread the news about you getting it listed on a new exchange.

Keep in mind unlike the other 2 exchanges that are left shorlinecrypto has no KYC requirements. :-)
That's kind of weird considering that it's based in the states, don't you think?

I just happened to check shorelinecrypto a minute ago and saw that CURE was listed, so I made a small deposit of bitcoin.  There aren't any sell orders so far as I know, but it's only day one of its listing.  Excellent job doing this, DaveF.

They are small enough to fly under the radar for now, I am assuming that is they ever get major volume that is going to have to change.
But for now since the main trading pair is doge for coins that are worth under a certain amount it really is worth it.

Well, it's listed:

https://shorelinecrypto.com/market/DOGE-CURE

Shameless plug here is my affiliate link: https://shorelinecrypto.com/?ref=251

Since it's tied to doge figure a good starting buy price is ~ 20 doge.
Keep in mind unlike the other 2 exchanges that are left shorlinecrypto has no KYC requirements. :-)

Once we get some traction here I can push other exchanges.

If you are motivated add some but orders so people want to trade but that's really it.
Very nice of you to do this for the coin and I do hope there aren't any snafu's with the listing process.  Not being familiar with that exchange I don't know how much of a PITA it is to get a coin listed, nor did I realize you could list a coin that you're not the developer of.

Curecoin should be on Kucoin or Binance at the very least, and it's disconcerting that the team hasn't taken any initiative in that respect.  As it stands, and as was mentioned, the number of exchanges listing it can be counted on one hand.  And out of those, only one has a positive reputation.  That's pathetic.

If you manage to get it listed, I assure you I'll put in some buy orders.

Well I posted here and on Discord so if nobody objects I'll start the process in a few days. Figure since it's Christmas I'll give it through the weekend for people to object.
No idea why anyone would but figure I'll put it out there.

But to answer your other question yeah, for most places pay the fee and get your coin listed.

If nobody objects I will pay for the listing on shoreline crypto https://shorelinecrypto.com/add_coin
I'm not sure if anyone from the Curecoin team even checks this thread anymore--or how active they are in anything these days.

I'm curious as to how you go about getting a coin listed on an exchange aside from paying the fee.  Is that just it?  You pay the listing fee and then wait for deposits and buy orders to start coming in?  Whatever the case may be, I'm all for getting Curecoin listed on another exchange as long as it's not a scam exchange.  I don't know anything about shorelinecrypto, but I'm going to check them out.

The Curecoin team ought to be the ones worrying about this, not coin holders.  As it is, Cure is listed on one legit exchange: Bittrex.  And for a coin like this one, it really is underrated and should be listed on some of the bigger exchanges.

Props for the initiative, DaveF.  I'll be curious to see what happens.

Edit:  Ah, shorelinecrypto is quite local (from my perspective), and I'm assuming that since they're US-based they have to operate under some kind of regulations.  DaveF, let's say you do get Curecoin listed there.  I would imagine the Curecoin team should be made aware of that fact--out of courtesy and so that perhaps they can update their "exchanges" section on their website.  If there's anything I can do, let me know.

Well livecoin.net just got attacked / hacked so the major exchange for Cure just went away for the time being.
Bittrex is still out there but they have their own issues and also block a lot of locations.

If nobody objects I will pay for the listing on shoreline crypto https://shorelinecrypto.com/add_coin
Not a major player but still it's another spot to trade. And since their main coin is Doge you can buy and sell a little bit of Cure and not worry about fees as much.

thanks, but here is another coin and team that gives about $0.3-0.35 per day with my PPD
Is it Banano?

Since casper77 didn't respond I would go with yes it looks like Banano.
I took a look at it a while back and didn't switch. Curecoin has a really thin market, Banano is smaller.
If you are not selling on a regular basis you can take a bath very quickly. Has happened to me a few time in the past where between mining and selling price went to hell.

Side note I jinxed myself a few posts up. After getting enough and actually getting small PoS rewards on a regular basis every few days for a while the last one I got was November 26th.
