If you do changes like this, an announcement would be a good idea.

OK, I've confirmed that the issue is due to a change on our end. We are using a new algorithm for the monster ID, based on ASNs rather than IPs. This means that the ID will be more useful for those with dynamic IPs that change constantly. I think your ASN can still change occasionally for the same ISP, but it should be pretty infrequent for most people. See the link below if you don't know what an ASN is.

I'm almost afraid to ask, but.. would it be possible to keep the old system for those with a static IP (maybe as an option is the settings)? Even if the ASN changes only rarely, a monster ID that changes from time to time makes me feel a lot less secure than an image that never changes. If not possible, i guess that simply typing the Kraken url in the address bar or using a trusted bookmark is the way to make sure i'm on the correct site?

I never understood this security feature, 90%+ of the users dont have a static IP.
But for the 10% that do, it's very useful. Tagliola isn't the only one with this problem. After almost a year of seeing the same picture, it has suddenly changed when i wanted to login today. Is it a bug? What's going on Kraken?

I have a dynamic IP, but in practice it seems to change only a few times a year, so I find the monster ID useful as well. The Monster ID is mainly a protection against phishing sites, so if the image changes unexpectedly, you should make absolutely sure that you have the correct Kraken url. Usually if the url is correct, then the different image is due to a change on your end and you should investigate on your end if it's unexpected.

However, in this case I believe the different image is due to a change on our end, probably related to a major update we did in preparation for our launch in Japan. My monster ID changed and I've confirmed that it isn't due to a change in my IP. I'll check with the developers, but I see no reason for concern here (though it's good to be cautious and ask about it).

In Germany(way behind in many things) the ISPs change the IP every 24h.

I understand, for you the monster ID is useless. The first time my ID changed, I called my ISP about it and was surprised to learn that I had a dynamic IP because it hadn't changed in months.

It seems the login security image has changed, can you verify it is safe to login?

Several users on a Dutch forum that I frequent have also reported the security image having changed while their IP didn't.

I can't check myself, because my ISP gives me a new IP practically every time I blink.

Good news for those interested in trading USD or GBP on Kraken:

http://www.coindesk.com/kraken-return-usd-market-launches-gbp/

Great! Perhaps few ideas for you. Add ripple as a gateway, connect with bitstamp for liquidity (USD market), add new coins (xmr Grin )... Wink

I am actually expecting to be missing the obvious, but how the heck do I get an overview of all my trades/account history in a usable format (csv or the like)?
the last information from Dargo some months ago was, that they are working on a csv export, but it's not high priority.
Maybe he has some new information now.

I think we're pretty close with the csv export, but I expect it to be several weeks yet at least before it's ready since we have many other things on our plate at the moment. In my view this small feature has a pretty large impact on customer experience and should have been made higher priority for this reason. I've been pushing for it a long time and will continue to do so until it's live.

Please do keep pushing as this feature is indeed essential to all of us who are in the position to have gains they can not really hide from the taxman...

Is there a page which documents all the different rate limits? For example, there's EAPI but also EORDER rate limits, and I think I found a post here describing EAPI but not EORDER.

Also, are the EORDER rate limits per-tradepair, or global across all tradepairs?

Thanks.
Edit: all rate limits are per pair, not global.
Can you please explain this remark further please, as this made it more unclear to me. Which calls are not global? The order add/cancel doesn't count, as that's +0, are there separate counters per pair and one global counter, for non-pair related queries such as trade balance/history? And finally, there supposedly is a separate order rate limit - despite the +0 for order add/cancel - which I and other people seem to hit as well, is there more information about this?

Yes, it's confusing because what I said is false.  Cheesy Sorry about that! The rate limit is per pair for order add and cancel only, and global for everything else. I don't have information on the separate rate limit for order add/cancel, but I'm working on getting that.

This will probably answer my question as well.. EORDER is the error I get when I'm placing/cancelling orders too fast. EAPI is the error I get when I'm doing other calls too fast.

It would be great if you guys had a spot in the API documentation where this stuff is documented.

I support freedom of choice
Can you add the possibility to set a note on withdraw request?
It will be useful to add something like the "Reference code" that you already request on deposits.
