thats weird anytime my comp crashs while mint is running it seems to f up the block chain, so I end up downloading the most recent bootstrap to re sync with a brand new wallet.dat (after saving my real .dat) and it always sync's right up no problems

Or you may want to do this... But if the block chain is increasing then it means its working. My guess is its devoting all resources to that instead if updating GUI that is why it says not responding. Since it might take a couple more days to sync, u probably should just let it do its thing and ignore it for now. Or if you are in a rush, do the bootstrap method mentioned.

Every time mintcoin starts on my machine it takes a seriously long time to respond. So I don't think this means it's broken. Maybe let it run for a while and see.

Hello! I have been out of the cryptocurrency community for a while no.
But I still sitting on my mints:) They have been minting for over a year now:))

But the other day I tried to sync my wallet, but my pc crashed. And the wallet are not responding anymore.
Everytime I try to start up the wallet it is just freazing..

Anybody now what I can do whit that problem?Huh

Thx in advanced

Open an altcoin wallet which has never crashed before and it will fix the whole thing.
Yes, I've heard this can work. I don't understand why though. It seems unexpected crashes can sometime s cause it to glitch up. Downloading another altcoin wallet  like hobonickels or something and open it then close it and go try to open mintcoin again.  Its like it has to re-learn how to open a wallet again lol.

Do other wallets open for you???

You could try uninstall everything and rediwnload it. Backup your wallet. Redinstall it and open with the new wallet. Then close and replace your wallet file with the old.

Also how long has it been since you last synced your wallet? Are you using the latest version of mintcoin?

I have tried this now (open another wallet, does not work for me:( Have not synced in a year maybe, but downloaded the new wallet (1.17 I think), and syncing went fine, I was at 73 %. Then my pc crashed.
And the problem started.
Other wallets open just fine, but not mintcoin

Try this... Open the mintcoin wallet, and when it looks like it is not responding, check this... Go to your mintcoin folder located in your appdata roaming, and look at the file for the block chain... Where it says the file size....look at it and see if its size is increasing overtime.  If it is, then it us working, just a lag in the GUI, all you need to do it let it alone for several hours and once it will eventually fix itself.

Yess the file size is increasing:) then I will just wait and see. thx:)
You know what the filesize should be at today? mine (blk0001.dat) is at 828 mb now

Over 1.5 GB  ...not exactly sure at the moment. I can check later. ... I would just let it sit and it has a tendabcy to fix it self once it finally syncs up.

shapeshift.io is currently out of mint. I wanted to buy a few more millions.

Give them a shout, I bet they'll be willing to respond.

EDIT: It looks like they topped their wallet. Current limit is 0.0380 BTC.

Thanks for respond. But I have tried a lot of things. Downloaded all the new wallets. Deleted the old wallet. Manually replaced the blockchains.
Nothing seems to work:(

Consolidate coins in your wallet and it is less of a resource hog for sure, but I still keep it closed when I'm doing anything on the computer

Right after last month's minting I switched all of my coins over to new addy's
Worked like a charm on speeding things up and decreasing the usage; however the .05 seconds during the address was breath stopping I was so nervous lol
(accidentally tipped someone $500 usd in mintcoins while moving from the exchanges a few months back) (lucky *.*.* doesn't even know it: http://explorer.mintcoinofficial.com/address/MczFhgBKy8HGi3hF6WRzaGQiusH1iSmutU )

the main thing I would like to see addressed in a mintcoin wallet update would be how resource intensive the windows wallet runs... I check my "task manager" quite often and it's the only wallet I run that uses an average of 500 mb of memory when most other wallets use about 125 mb's

my comp is getting older and stuff like that can be noticed if I have too many wallets open and comp starts lagging

Generally it would be because you have a lot of transactions in your wallet.dat so your computer is continually checking thousands of transactions which is a big draw on your computer power. Once you have some 15,000 Transactions or more (about 30-50 MB wallet) it will start to influence your computer performance and you can get rid of this by sending your Coins to a new wallet and getting rid of the old one. It's also influenced if you have a lot of very small Blocks trying to Stake as they are all competing against each other on your own machine to Stake.

Just synced 1.17 from my 1.15 appdata roaming contents minus the wallet.dat... synced up nice and fast and now that it is synced with a blank/new wallet.dat file, the wallet is running at 553 mb's... making it the most memory intensive thing running on my computer (including firefox with 8 tabs open on it)

Lol  Grin

Well, on the bright side, it can only get better right? I can still play videogames like league of legends on my windows 7 PC with mintcoin running at the sane time. I hardly notice it. Very rarely do I shut it down. Thinking of getting anither PC to solely devote to mint eventually....

for sure Smiley overall I love MINT and yeah thats why I was asking about a hardware wallet like some coins have, I've heard they can be a cost efficient way of minting 24/7. I will be getting one from "iGotSpots" for his 3 coins next month should be interesting

I wonder if it even works for very large amounts...what about slippage if you were a whale making a large move? U would also wonder if in that case they didn't front run your order....

Current deposit limit for MINT is: 0.0454 BTC
