So i haven't been keeping up with the forums as much as i should but has there been any method of recieving our coins back from mintpal? I losted all my coins on that site sadly and recently somebody from karma coin was able to recover the coins stolen from mintpal so i'm wondering if mint was able to do the same?
I haven't heard of anyone getting their coins back. Maybe send that gut a private message and ask how they got them. ...it might be that there were some coins without any real market value that didn't get bothered to get stolen???. Not sure. I never kept my coins on the exchange very long so I wasn't affected. I stopped using them entirely once I found out changes were being made...with moolah and all that. Bter exchange also lost coins. Its hard to know how many coins even left. It is a real bummer to hear. Did you lose a lot of MINT? severall coins have been recovered from mintpal by comunity devs. coins that i have personally recovered (thanks to community support) are:

FLT
KARM
MYR
TES

I won't do that just yet as I can only make this offer for the moment based on current market conditions. So people are aware, if I were to receive the Mintcoins I would process them like a merchant would, make up a modest shortfall out of my own BTC, and add it to an investment pool. If a few people contributed Mintcoins and then purchased them back from exchanges, then trading volume would increase and this would likely increase the price of MINT. Then I could make further offers for less MINT.
If people contributed Mintcoins and did not purchase them back, then the price would be driven down and I would make no further offers.
Either way I am offering to return investment funds as per the conditions on the site so you can think of this as a hedge and something that could potentially revitalise Mintcoin.

I was a part of Mintcoin from launch. What nice feeling seeing the donation of Mintcoin on the Linux Mint OS. Glanced through and noticed most big exchanges have dropped mint. Nice to see still around. Figured I'd show Linux Mint is somewhat promoting MINT as a crypto donation.
Thanks for pointing that out. I've used Mint Linux for years. Nice to see them using Mintcoin!! I got to send them some of my newly minted coins.

I just use the already compiled wallet offered for buntu 64 bit. I don't have any issues.

I could use some help on ubuntu as well, not having the same issue as above, I'm having trouble with the "make -f makefile.unix" build.
I'm on ubuntu 14, I've installed/updated all necessary dependancies, and here is the error I'm getting on the make cmd:

i have a problem with a mintcoind "version" : "v1.17.0.0",
daemon stop downloading blockchain each ~500-1000 blocks.
problem start from block 200000+
ex:
/mintcoind getinfo
"blocks" : 288493,
/mintcoind stop
/mintcoind
/mintcoind getinfo
"blocks" : 288993,
/mintcoind stop
/mintcoind
/mintcoind getinfo
"blocks" : 291993,
...
problem on both wallets(compilled from git/downloaded from site)

any ideas?
I'm not familiar with Ubuntu. But try closing it down. Then restart the client. Give it time. Check the file directory where the blochain is and see if the file is getting bigger or if any other action is happening, like a log file or something. Does the wallet say not responding?
