I put in a request to add MINT to YoBit.net

Please see the link to image:

Note: I gave them the MintyAllDay email.

I'm not sure I did all of the information correct, so maybe someone that knows better can confirm and make sure.

Or someone who knows all of the details can put in their own request:

Mintcoin: Get some

[EDIT] Removed ShapeShift and Poloniex.  Added BTC POP as well as Nova and AltEx recently.

Shapeshift dropped too???
When?

They tweeted this on June 26th:

Shows their flip-flop nature. I think ShapeShift is just jumping on the Poloniex delisting bandwagon without real reason. Not necessarily a good idea though as imho, they actually have some scamycoins they are promoting. Let's prove them wrong.   Roll Eyes

OP updated with current exchanges.  Working on some image tweaks now.   Wink

What did you update? The exchange section on OP still looks the same as I recall.

One major exchange (Poloniex) was removed after MINT was delisted few days ago.

I am still in the middle of this as well...started 6 days ago and still only 84% completed! It also seems the past few days it takes a solid 24 hours to sync up with a month of transactions, looks like it will take another week at this rate to complete! Seriously, is this normal? I tried the Bootstrap but that also ran for more than 2 days with no status display, finally cancelled and thought would do it the old fashioned way...really puzzling.

I am showing 11 active connections, no connection speed problems on my end at least.

I synced my wallet the old fashioned way too.  Cheesy
Sometimes, as I recall, it seemed to freeze up on certain blocks or something. If the wallet's been online and connected for a long time (like 5 + hours) and it looks like no blocks are syncing or it seems to get very slow at syncing I've found it can help if you restart the client. Other than that it is probably normal to expect about a month to download and sync the entire blockchain from scratch. I think if you do it the old fashioned way, it includes all of the orphans, that's why its much slower. All of the orphan blocks need to sync too so it is extra slow. But, once you get there, Mintcoin is the fastest coin, faster than any coin I know, so it's worth it once you're up and running! When you do transactions or move funds, the confirmations come in basically instantaneously. It is really nice. Plus, once you are synced you can start minting! So it's definitely worth it in the long-run.

You also can buy Mintcoin at:
-CRYPTOPIA         (there's actually like 7 trading pairs there)
-SOUTHXCHANGE

Maybe the front announcement page should be updated to include a direct link to every possible exchange and every possible trading pair. something straightforward for users to click on directly what they want or are looking for to trade.

@MintyAllDay Thanks for the update, right now it seems like the only place I can buy Mintcoin is on the POP exchange. With regard to the wallet redesign, what does this actually mean? Is  it a whole new interface or something deeper? I am assuming we will not be required to re-download the Blockchain when upgrading!

You can buy at ShapeShift and BTer aswell!
But use caution with BTer and try not to store coins. I've been using them for over a year, deposits and withdrawals have worked flawlessly for me, but I've heard of others having issues.

Who are the devs by the way? And would the dev team be open to a new GUI Wallet? They can compile or me, I just like to design shit Tongue

Devs should be more active online next week.  New wallet design happened quite sometime ago.  However, we're bringing the new code up to speed before releasing the new design.  But if your hoping to contribute in some manner, we can always use more team members.  Smiley

That's awesome - Cant wait to see it! Smiley

And I'd love to contribute!
Is there anything I can do for the website? Eg: Hosting, Design Work, Front-end, etc...?
Anything that you guys need help with but don't have enough time fore just let me know! Smiley

Your buying mint at btcpop.co?  How long have you used them?  I'm having issues logging in there to even see the coins on their exchange.  I've sent a support message to them.

The wallet redesign has the new logo and uses new minty colors.  Old links are stripped out and or updated.  I THINK I've shared preview images in the past but I don't recall currently.  I'll need to clear any public sharing with some other team members this weekend though.  But while this preview looks cool, it likely won't be the final design as we still have time to tweak things while working on the new code.  I don't believe the new wallet will require a new blockchain download but if it does, it should be improved in regards to loading time.

Thanks for the update, I really hope the blockchain reload is not required or if it is then improved, I started mine last week Thursday and it has been running non-stop- still 90 days to go before completion but it just keeps getting slower and slower, also stalling out once in a while.

I have been investing on Pop since March but only started playing around on their exchange in the past few weeks. Pop went through a change of ownership a couple months ago and since then the exchange has been greatly improved with a decent selection of coins. The new owner has also implemented a staking option on deposits with returns to be distributed to coin holders on the site, not a bad incentive to keep coin on the site. As far as logon issues I am not familiar, there has been a heavy flow of new users coming to Pop over the past few weeks though which could be keeping the admins busy and slow to respond to support issues.

Because the Pop community is still fairly internal I think in general the exchange is used mostly by members to trade with other members on the site; I have seen a few arbitrage opportunities pop up but for the most part it is not a high volume exchange. The Mintcoin ask price is currently at.00000011, so not bad if you can find a buyer! I was buying a few weeks ago between .0000007 and 8.

What future developments will bring people to Mintcoin?

The blockchain sync issue might be one.. You have to be seriously dedicated to MINT to wait the time it takes to sync, bootstrap or no.
I know Kiklo offers a snapshot service and it works great, but it's not Mint Official so probably scares some users away.

Another big one would be a nice, modern looking website.
The website could/should include fundamental features like blockexplorer (i know one exists for MINT but seems to add to credibility when it's on the Coins website - not a 3rd party)

Lastly, would probably be to try to add a real world (or significant digital) use. As of now MintCoin is fast and it stakes. Don't get me wrong I am a big supporter and believer of MintCoin but really, there's not much that stand out from the crowd.

The logo even looks a bit outdated.

Food for thought:
When I first started getting into Altcoins, I would download the wallet first - solely based on if I liked the look of the coin's logo. Stupid way to do things, yes, but may not be far from how other newcomers think.

final blk0001.dat size is 1.682.642 till now my wallet now is fully synced and its on a mint-rage !
damn! my was only in 1.300.000 after 2 day, and worst thing, that currently importing speed becomes slower
til less than ~100.000 per day Sad

Seams normal for this coin... I've been about 3 weeks and still got about 2 days or so to go.. seams some parts of the day or blocks go faster
