So the halving has occured.  I don't see the expected price increase yet...
Priced in already since we all knew about it...

Yep, price could remain around here for a bit. Just get your coins to work minting for you.

EDIT: If MINT becomes less profitable to mine directly, then it may push more people to buy it directly, which will also help support the price and make make it rise.

Take a look at the market history for the range of 152 - 197 satoshi. Not much of a pump when the amount of MINT bought is 1 each time lol. Cryptorush allows you to execute orders without regard to sequence, meaning you can skip orders entirely. They also threaten traders with the ban-hammer for attempting to manipulate the market like that.

Don't think of your MINT coins as just coins, think of them as little miners, pool your coins together and they work together to find blocks and you get the PoS reward.  Cheesy

Thats a great point - little miners - minting away!!!!!

Yeah, I would say that if you are considering to buy more, do it now before people really realize that by buying more coins, they can make more coins, and those coins will be worth more because the price is now higher because they bought more. You directly influence the profitability of your minting by having more coins and the more coins you have the more they increase in value.

Hmm.. it's been 20 days + 3hrs since my first 20k mint landed in my wallet but still no stake. Why? How long can it take before the first coins generate some stake?

Patience. It can take up to 40 days, but its very likely that you will get your first stakes soon.

Yep, 20 days is just the very earliest possible. You have to remember that you are competeing against every other minter out there - it is just like mining. Just like in mining you are competing for blocks, the same holds true with minting.

This whole POS method needs to be explained better. Some people say you don't need the wallet open and unlocked to always to be minting. But if it's not open/unlocked how can the minting occur especially when as you say, you're competing against every other minter for the blocks??

There is something called coin age. When your coins are placed in your wallet the countdown to 20 days coin age begins. This countdown occurs whether or not the wallet is locked. If you have it locked for a while the coin age is recorded and when you unlock it's updated.

That's my understanding of the basics.

you do need to open the wallet for the "minting"
You don't need it to open for the coins to accumulate coin age. You do need it open/unlocked for minting. I would say just unlock your wallet for minting every 25-35 days and depending on how many coins you have, it should happen fairly quickly (within an hour or so).

mintcoin.cc   down for ever?  Shocked

Yeah sorry there was some downtime, I was setting up a standalone cloudflare account and there was some lag whilst changing the DNS to the new account.

A community member recently purchased mintcoin.com and it is now pointing to mintcoin.cc

I wonder if the .cc stands for Cryptocurrency? Cheesy

No, it's some island of the coast of Australia that has 600 people living on it. lol

do we need to setgenerate true or anything special or just have the coins grow old enough?

Pretty sure just let the coins sit still and grow old. The more coins you have the better because your coins "are the miners" if that makes sense. So the more coins you have means the better they will mint for you. Just like if you buy a lot of mining gear you get more coins, same concept (more coins mints you more coins). instead of trying to get higher hashrate with PoW you you should try to get more coin age in PoS so the more coin age you get the better. You will mint blocks faster the more coins you have, so I recommend buying some extra cheap coins and transferring them to your wallet as it will pay off. Don't think of your MINT coins as just coins, think of them as little miners, pool your coins together and they work together to find blocks and you get the PoS reward.  Cheesy

I gotta say that website is snappy.   Hope you were compensated well from the pre-mine.  EASY 1 mill IMO

The founding devs are spending their premine productively.

The extended team and everybody working for it is mostly voluntary but we've only got to ask for a reward / bounty and something is paid relative to contribution.

I'll take that as a "YES" Wink
