'The right to privacy matters'
no a few posts back I did very optimistic roi's for the sfards

I used 8 cents a kwatt

0 diff growth

 and a flat price.

here it is

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.11906818

while the gear sound good cause it can do 2  types of coins sha-256 and scrypt.

the sfards sales pages shows a drop off in efficiency if you run them at the same time.

So I did the better 1 coin type numbers to get roi's

My email told me the a2's will ship from the northwest Washington state.  they get 4 to 7 cent power in that state.

I would be stunned if the seller did not acquire a lot of sfards to replace the a2's.

If would be nice if they posted a running sfards but most likely we won't know any new info on them anytime soon.

So what electricity cost did you use for your calculations? Surely not your NJ rates of roughly $.18?

Isn't the LTC halving in less than 45 days now?

I know so little about LTC, it's pathetic.

I have a question would you want this for 1290 with more to ship say 110 or 1400 total comes sept 1

or an a2  for 1139 comes in 4 days.

Specs on this for ltc only are 200 watts 54mh

specs on the A2 are 1000 watts and 110mh.

on paper the A2   breaks even in under 170 days

this breaks even in  348 days.

I only ask because I just got an offer for an a2 at 1139 shipped to me.

I can use paypal to buy it  which will drop it a bit.

I can see what has happened here the seller  has replaced all his a2's with sfards.

If he gets 1139 with the shipping he is getting a free upgrade. since most likely he got his sfards in bulk at a discount.

I am sure other will get the same email I did.

So maybe the "mass production" in the title isn't quite accurate, or only for small values of "mass"?

While it's interesting to watch, it seems unlikely that SFARDS is going to change things much given the prices they charge, and the small scope of "mass production", at least at the moment.

Well it probably means the chips are (and have been) in mass production, but there is still a delay until chips -> machines.

Sold out. Yes its a trial batch. Next batch end August…

that trial batch was 100 units right?

No official numbers given, but it seems it was a very small batch.
I'd guess anywhere from 50 to 200 units.

With 24 chips each I could see why they call it "mass production.   But that is a very small batch for sure.

Wonder if they are being safe doing small batch or if there is a holdup in process.

So far no one has seen any proof this machine works.
No one has shown it mining.
No one has shown if comes close to  the power ratings.

How do you know they sold out?  And that is a bummer 1.5 months is a lot between batches.
Thats what they told me. I asked them for a 100TH offer and they say bulk orders are able to resume in August.

'The right to privacy matters'
says it does 54mh at 200 watts  in scrypt alone.

I had 10 gridseed blades   doing 800 watts getting 54mh   So I read this a 4x the quality of an old school blade.

How does that work on an ltc calc?  I get 350 days.

with the sha 256 turned off.

Does it take into consideration the LTC reward drop in 40 days?

No it does not which is part of the problem with this gear.   If you run both you lose efficiency .  if you run ltc it take 350 days to break even  .

With 8 cent power/ flat diff /flat price  /   that is really being generous

now do 8 cent power /flat diff/flat price for sha and you get.  411 days.

Does anyone expect flat diff /flat price/ 8 cent power  ?  for ltc or btc

plug in 6 cents and:

 ltc takes  319 days

btc takes 380 days

 running separate helps  power spent.

I would say you need 8 cent power and a lot of high hopes.

Yeah, but if a load of these suddenly came online, diff would quickly jump sooner than 350 days I think.....

We have seen in past what happens if a lot get intrested in scrypt.  The A2's were priced HIGH, very high.  Overnight they dropped in price.  This happened so quick people that just bought them never made ROI.  I have done this before with an A2 and I was lucky I barley made roi from renting high and selling it to make ROI.

If they can guarantee this will be best chip for a year, and no extreme drops in price yes you might justify a year ROI.   But one competitor can destroy this.

At $750 - $850 seems more logical.  They must have had an initial smaller batch order for now which is the only justification for the asking price.
Me wants one but it's too precious.  You can buy almost another 4.5 btc with the cost of it which you won't if you mine with it at least not in the next 6 months.  Not Home Miner Friendly or HMF which I'm dubbing as my motto.

The hard part to justify it is all the zeus/hashra/etc gear that is out there.  Even though it's horribly inefficient people still run them.

I do not think the price should be to much over what you can buy an 30mh A2 and a SP20.   I agree some over it.   But 1200 would be very very high.   I really want this and will admit I would overspend to get one to play with, but I cant justify 1200 no matter how hard i try.

I hope the rumor is wrong on price.

Yeah, I bought a Titan for $3000 a week ago, and hell at this rate that even seems like a bad fucking deal.
