1 MN with 10K DRK vs 10 MNs with 1K DRK respectively
Is the profit the same ?
anyone knows? thx~
Each masternode is paid out the exact same amount regardless of how much drk is inside.

So 10MNs with 1k DRK would be 10x as profitable as the 10k.

Yes, but your "score" will also determine if you get a payment or not:

...Nodes will monitor time delays between receiving transactions and confirmations from masternodes and will assign scores for each masternode according to these delays. This score and deposit amount will affect which masternodes will receive payments.

But as you say, all of them the same amount.
If an MN passes both the SPR amount test and the score test, then it will recieve profit.

I think the score test is just here to ostracize masternode owners who offer the lousiest service when it comes to "instant x speed". (think of it as extra punishment)
But again, this will first attack the people from the "weakest link" - side of things.
The amount deposited is far more important than your score.

I would even assume that a MN with 10k SPR but a lousy score will recieve the profit, while a MN with 100 SPR in it (suppose that's the weakest link) but brilliant score will recieve nothing.
Why? Because the weak MN with the brilliant score only needs a small push to be out of the picture, while the strong MN with lousy score will just fall 500 ranks lower but still remain in the business.

Am I correct, Mr Spread?

I updated the client again.
As was discovered by elbandi it was impossible to create multisig addresses, I fixed this. Also multisig transactions were considered non-standard by network and were not rebroadcasted and not added to block (although they would be accepted if included in block).
If you need multisig addresses then generate them with newer version and wait for more nodes to upgrade before starting using them.
This is not a hardfork.

Download from: http://spreadcoin.net/

Thanks, updated client running fine here.

Today is a good day, 8 blocks found in 9 hours, my personal record with my poor 20MH/s rig.

sp_ should release tomorrow the improved nvidia miner for donators, can't wait to see it!

Cheers

So I thought it might be cool to upload some pics of my mining operation.  Right now the GPU's are mining SPR and the scrypt asics are mining for BTC which gets converted to SPR  Grin.

I started in the home office with some R9 290's but got quickly kicked out into the garage due to heat and noise.

Once I found the 750ti's I was able to swap out the R9 290's and sneak (4) into the home office computer again!  Shhh - she may not know!  Roll Eyes

How about others load some pics to show off their operation?

Nice farm Wink I am not mining atm, only have my home computer so no exciting pictures from me Wink

How do I set up the client for outgoing connections?

I have 90+ connections, does that mean I have outgoing connections?
I think a static IP is neccessary.
Why do you think that? Because it isn't.

Does anyone think that SpreadCoin will reach 100k before the end of February? I'm noticing that we are now already holding 60k a coin pretty stable Smiley I really hope that Mr. Spread continues to develop this coin the way that he has and that the community continues to grow and grow Smiley
It'll all depend on when and how well masternodes are implemented.

Speaking of which, judging by bittrex today it looks like some are getting antsy and impatient waiting on Mr. Spread's good word.
What say you, Mr. Spread? Start testing soon? (end of Jan. is what you were aiming for I believe?)

Edit: since there's no volume here on this decline (always bullish), I should edit my statement above to say "it looks like ONE of you is getting antsy..."

Looking over the MN GUI again, I'm downright giddy for MN implementation.

I feel the same way.

Looking over the MN GUI again, I'm downright giddy for MN implementation. And I'm by no means techie and will likely require the assistance of some other techies here in setting them up.
Any ETA, Mr. Spread, on testing begin?

3- At current market value, the 26660+ SPR/ 400 block instamine is worth approx. 18 BTC.

well, i used to get 1K SPR/week by mining with a (slow) CPU on a VPS several weeks after the launch. I even donated 15K SPR to Mr. Spread when he lost his wallet (with 80K on it). So i can't see 26K making any difference in all this. And yeah, we had it easy on those early days. We CPU mined and got thousands of coins. I miss those times...

Whether you intended to or not, you are also misrepresenting what I said about the crippled -->GPU<-- kernel.

Can you elaborate about that? I used the exact same kernels as used by most recent sgminer when i produced the second version of the miner (first version was really "crippled" because it was released in a hurry by Mr. Spread so that tsiv would release his nvidia version to the public). Wolf0 had not produced any of his optimizations for X11 yet, so at the time it was top technology. It is outdated now? perhaps it is, but that is not what i (and most people, BTW) understand by "crippled". So, please elaborate on that.

BTW, nvidia miner is not crippled in any way and uses the most current code for X11.

All cryptos are FIAT digital currency. Do not use.
Yes, lets encourage people to blindly trust someone who we know absolutely nothing about and, just like eduffield, continually makes insider/whale friendly changes. NO ONE will ever get scammed that way ! Genius ! Roll Eyes

Btw.. how secure and decentralized do your precious MNs look to everyone now ?

Yes ! Roll Eyes A multi faceted ponzi is exactly what a dev making fraudulent claims of true decentralization needs !

Fyi.. the 800 mhash whales and insiders will use their unfair advantage to price 99% of you out of the market.

I'll let your imagination decide how their greed and (3rd party Shocked ) control of the network will affect things.

@eduffield and chums and/or wannabe's ..

Have you ever legitimately EARNED anything in life ?

What is a good and "fair" altcoin and why in your opinion then?

If you spent more time reading my posts (instead of editting them) you wouldn't be asking that question.

- The block reward was reduced by 90% after block 2200 for no apparent reason.
Time between blocks was reduces from 10 to 1 minute.

Does this mean that the next insta/flashmine will be 10 times as bountiful ?
Hmm, lets see...

So instead of 10 minute blocks with 66.66 reward, we're getting 1 minute blocks with 6.66 reward.

It makes sense that the difficulty would be devided by 10 = 90% decrease.

So over 10 minutes, the block reward stays the same either way.

6.66 * 10 = for one minute blocks
or
66.66 = for 10 minute blocks

Mr. Spread also told everyone exactly how to mine: setgenerate true
It's not like he lied to anyone. He also lost all of the coins he mined. (at least I hope that's true) So any instamine would be gone.

I already know how the block reward was changed. You missed my points so lets try again.

1- 400 freakin 66.xxx SPR blocks were minted during the first 65 minutes after launch. (How many other instamines will we find if we continue to search the block chain ?)
2- This became possible because the difficulty did not adjust as we were led to believe it would. eg. block 400's diff = 0.06xxx
3- At current market value, the 26660+ SPR/ 400 block instamine is worth approx. 18 BTC.

Whether you intended to or not, you are also misrepresenting what I said about the crippled -->GPU<-- kernel.

OS X Yosemite.

Unfortunately I don't have an OS X to test. Anyone else is using OS X? Do you have the same issue?

I can confirm, this happens for me too. But then, it happens also with DRK and many other wallets, so i'm quite used to it. (and i prefer the command line interfaces anyway, and vi kicks emacs ass)!

new update for the spreacointalk forum:

in the top right menu bar you will find the real time (1 min) price of SPR and its daily volume.

Enjoy.

PS at the moment it is obviously only gathering bittrex data, but I will adjust that the more exchanges we get.
AWESOME!!
Can you also add the auto updating thread pages like darkcointalk?

thanks!

I am not sure what you mean with "auto updating thread pages"...

It means new posts are added to the thread without the need for a refresh...I think...

I see...
Hm, I think darkcointalk only does this for Alerts and Inbox, right? And it will inform you about new posts when you are in the same thread, right?

I don't think that we need that...  Wink
