I'm at 43 active connections , 187 blocks found all rejected. Only been mining a couple of minutes tho.

I started mining about 1 minute after the binaries were posted and it was already on block 150+. It seems there really is no fair way to release a coin these days with super-miners ready to pounce on any new coin as soon as it is released. Even if the difficulty is set high at the beginning it would still be the same situation. They would still get the majority of the blocks.

Looks like UPNP is enabled. I'm at 16 connections with no manually added nodes.
