It's not necessary until there's a critical bug which affects your pool, or when cheatoshin0 says the update is mandatory.

and many pools did not update since many versions. Shouldnt the pools use the same version? Probably the latest or one previous, if newer has a bug? But why do so many not update?

overall pool hashrate seems dammed low on my pool. only got 2k of 300k overall hashrate. was up to 20k with even lower amount of miners past 2 days.
Using 847, is there an incopatibility with older miners?
