Hello guys, how long does it take for deposited coins to the wallet to start staking?
Usually about 8 hours

The following guide may help...

http://telegra.ph/MAGI-PROOF-OF-STAKE-MINTING-MANUAL-01-09

This guide worked. Thank you sir. Glad to be a part of the community! Cheesy  Can someone explain more about the thresholds set on the conf file. Thanks. Cheesy

Can I please also have a slack invite at [email protected] Cheesy
They are used to chunk blocks together which increases the likelihood of a block being picked for staking

Did anybody invite you to the slack yet? I don't go on there very often

And what is the golden number?

Im looking for the most active chat room Cheesy Where is it sir?

No one invited me yet.

How many coins is the optimum for proof of stake?
And how to set up this on a linux computer?
All I have ever set up for magi wallets is just a gui wallet which doesn't take much setup...
I think at least 50 coins is good amount to start with, any less and you may not have enough weight
http://telegra.ph/MAGI-PROOF-OF-STAKE-MINTING-MANUAL-01-09

I didn't try a linux setup before, so can't help too much there, below you can find the tar.gz file - check inside, maybe there are some instructions

Hello guys, how long does it take for deposited coins to the wallet to start staking? I have deposited 16 hours ago and my wallet is unlocked and synced.

It says 'not staking".

Total noob here, so sorry if this is a stupid question right out of the gate.

Trying to set up my wallet, but Avast flags m-wallet.exe as a virus.

Is this just my antivirus being hyperactive, or is it a real virus?

Downloaded in file m-wallet-1.4.5.3-win.zip from website http://www.m-core.org/.

Thanks
So long as you download from m-core.org all is fine - the virus warning is because Magi Wallet uses IRC as a communication protocol and so do a lot of viruses

Welcome to the magi community

Hi guys,
I upgraded my wallet to m-wallet-1.4.5.3-win few days ago, but i wonder why the remaining blocks bigger and bigger, download xxx of yyy blocks => yyy blocks higher and higher, % done s lower and lower lol. I left my lap for 3-4 nights but the situation still not change.
Is that normal?

Sounds a bit odd - do you have some nodes in your magi.conf?

You can download the latest chain snapshot (4th Jan) here
https://m-core.org/bin/block-chain/

The following file has a sample magi.conf inside
https://m-core.org/bin/m-wallet-1.4.5.3/m-wallet-1.4.5.3-win.zip

Thank starmman, after i copy new snapshot of blockchain to my computer, it syncs well Smiley

Good to hear you have your wallet synced - the more nodes we have on the network the stronger it is =D
