The slight fork will only work if everyone is on it. It will take a few blocks before the diff readjusts but after it does the network will not be vuln to flash mining as easily.

I am releasing a client that I am sure everyone will agree with including Russ. I will be posting the source files of the files I have changed. The goal will be a manual retarget and updated retarget times to prevent future flash mining. I have repaired Bottlecaps with a similar method. The client will be posted here soon. IT IS YOUR CHOICE TO USE THE CLIENT! I am not trying to trick anybody as this is the actual block chain and none of your money will be lost!

New Client: http://script-it.net/craftcoin-qt.exe
Changes made: http://script-it.net/main.cpp

I will take a look at this today. I thank you for your efforts.

I won't download anything until Blindfolded approves / confirms it's legit.

In the end, any change is a hard fork.  That is why it is important that there is one agreed one.

An "unofficial" fork shouldn't use the same name.

There is a risk since the same keys are used for more than 1 fork (assuming both forks actually survive).  If you spend on one fork, the coin is also spent on the other.  This only affects coins form before the forking point.

What will the manual adjusted difficulty be?

It would be great if you joined the pool. It is more of a guarantee that we will get it solved faster if you do. Look a little further up for the pool.

It is not a manual retarget. We have adjusted the retarget time from 1 day to 3 hours to bring flash mining to a minimal on the network and to prevent less damage in the future. The retarget should in theory happen after this next block.

It should have stopped at block 9323 saying it isn't synced. That is because there hasn't been a block found in several days. We are working to solve a new block now to put it back in sync. addnode=199.180.115.125

There is no risk in testing the client from another computer. But, your loss. There is a pool that has reviewed the code and is agreeing to post a new pool to set the chain in place and unfreeze it. Nobody's transactions or money will be lost!

@Magnet I am being 100% legitimate. Download the client and check it out. Nothing drastic changed no forks nothing but a manual retarget after block 9323

Take your time. I don't know what the right answer is but maybe look at how some other coins handle flash-mining. I think it may be better to be stuck than go through the constant rape-mining that ARG does. Being stuck adds a level of scarcity to Craftcoin Wink

thankyou for the update =D

Yes, sorry to not reply for so long. Been busy with work, and some life stuff came up that I need to focus my attention on. Nobody has abandoned the coin. It is just simply stuck, and it is beyond my ability to fix. IMO there is a huge difference between "ditching" the coin, and being at a roadblock because of technical issues. I have reached out to the people that I know that are able to help, we just need to be patient and things will be corrected.

Big thanks to all of the people who have supported and helped along the way. I will do what I can to keep everybody informed.

If you go to Help -> Debug Window you'll see a line about "Current Number of Blocks". If the value next to that is >9323 then you're probably synced up. When blockchains get stalled or are otherwise not functioning quite as intended the client will often not be able to tell whether it's properly synced or not.

Ok 9232 is what they're all at. I just wanted to make sure that i's a messaging/status issue and not some blocks floating around that the client won't sync.

I know the chain is diff locked but the client won't say "synced".  Is this just because it expects something closer to target block time, or does anyone have any idea how that works?

Myself and my 6 peers are all stuck at two days ago.

Does anyone have a good node?

The lotto, everything...

You can always connect to the node at crc.cryptocoinexplorer.com.

addnode=50.116.22.43

Thanks for the hookup, you're hung on the same block.

For now I'll assume I'm as "up to date" as it gets.
