Many people are wasting their time because of these problems and therefore you waste your time too .. this is it!
It's important to keep the wallets up since they work for some people. Yes we get bug reports but that's how we pinpoint them and fix it. So for now the wallets remain on the website and we are taking care of providing as much support is necessary to allow users to access their funds. How to resolve this problem
It seems your Komodod died. It's a known problem with the swing wallet. We have been testing the new releases the past week. They will be ready soon but meanwhile I suggest you use the non-gui. We have documented it well and there are more than enough resources for you to access your funds without the use of graphic interface. How to resolve this problem

I'd really love to know this too. I can't get the wallet synchronized past about 93% before it crashes with that same error message. So I can see my wallet address, but as I can't synchronize beyond February this year, I can't access my coins etc.
I have just accessed my private key, though - can I use this to create a different wallet in the Agama wallet? Is this a better way to go?
EDIT:
Also: is it normal to only have 8 connections? Synchronization is extremely slow, even though komodod.exe is using around 4MB/s bandwidth.

Check address at kmd.explorer.supernet.org if it's there it's just a visual bug and you need to go to basilisk actions and clear cache refresh wallet

To claim your interest. You can just send .001 kmd to yourself and wait for the 1 confirm. You will receive your interest that is it

The team were very clear what would happen in regards to the ICO site and payouts. There has been plenty of time to already swap BTCD for KMD and its unfair to expect the team to make changes just because the price is pumping.
It's probably better the coins stay with KOMODO for later

@loremipsum The guide I referred to above shows how to importprivkeys. Also, if you need help you can join slack and we will walk you through the process. Yep it should available and openly traded. You can buy any from Bittrex, Cryptopia, CoinExchange and Cryptox. Bittrex has the highest volume but it depends which trading site you are most comfortable.
