Indeed, if it shows up in an Ethereum-based wallet, it's this Piggies (i.e. an ERC20 token), not the Piggycoin from CMC.
By the way, I have great respect for the work done by the (other) Piggycoin team, now that I'm aware of them. It seems that they weren't too commercially successful, but they've put in quite some effort to make blockchain an attractive concept for kids. I hope a similar concept takes off one day.
I have tried several times to sign up but failed to continue.

At first, it was really PIGGY but they change it later on to PIGGIES when they found out that "PIGGY" was already used by another coin and that was the coin they are saying they had seen in coinmarketcap. So they are a totally a different coin.

Are you asking if the coin listed on coinmarketcap and this coin are the same? If you are then the answer is no, these two are different. If you read the previous posts then you'll know that the dev stated that the coin named "PIGGY" is different from this one cause the coin "PIGGY" is not an eth token while this one is an eth token. And to answer your question about the exchange, you can sell this token on etherdelta if I'm not mistaken, the link is posted on the first page of this thread.
