Changes are still on the table, but it seems difficult to reach a consensus.  Perhaps we should only change the algorithm.  Anyone care to offer support or resistance to switching to X11?  Hard forking is a big deal, anyone who doesn't update their client will end up on the wrong fork--and we'll have to reach out to Comkort as well.

Sorry about the website.  I will get it back up this weekend.

I agree with you, especially taking into consideration we are close to 100k block reward, so, already no longer makes sense to change "inflation period".
Concerning to switching to another algo, IMHO, it's need to be done when block reward back to 5000 KMC, after the "inflation period". What do you think?

Yes, I would agree that it makes sense to hardfork only after the inflation period is over.  Also the low energy benefits of X11 are lessening with the release of x11mod.

drakandar, thanks for the leadership advise.  Maybe you can advise us more as we move forward.

Shall we mine with the qubit algorithm, then? I run 3 HD 7970's and they each consume roughly 140 watts, stay at 50-60C (open air, no box fan) and get 15 MH/s. Sounds like a win-win situation to me. FYI, qubit uses a good deal of the algorithms used in X11. It has a total of 5 algos in it. If you guys want more info on it, I'll dig it up for you

Block explorer site is up, but it will take hours to resync the db so don't use it until the total blocks number looks right.

If anyone cares to whip up some static content for a www site, please PM me, I'm gladly host it or proxypass to your site.

Also adjusted the faucet to give an average of 10,000 coins, so please donate and tell your friends to grab some free coins.

Hey folks,

Dunno if you have already, but start out by setting up the team and have a chat about what's gonna happen and what not :-)
Create a place to spawn ideas other than this forum (google docs for instance). Assign tasks and get started :-)

I can't dedicate my time to this coin (already busy with FairCoin), but I can help by donating KMC's so now and then. Still mining them like crazy lol

jacob019, 2 questions:
If I understood right, you'll not change the algo, nor block reward evolution?
And second, kimocoin.com is redirecting to something strange, the block explorer not work.

Hey Folks - I placed an order at http://shop.kimocoin.com/ last week...

I haven't received a confirmation for my order.  Your store accepted my KMC, so I believe by international law, we have a contract...

Is anyone minding the store?

Sorry friend but the store is closed.  Forgetme, the creator of the coin, has abandoned the project, but he has transfered the domain and VPS to me.  I'll be hosting it from now on, so the coin will not die.  We'll start a new thread soon.  You should PM forgetme to ask for a refund.

hey guys,

1st @JDS1000, yes PM him nd ask for the refund, he will give it for sure!

I don't know if I'm right here but...

Isn't Kim Dotcom's son named Kimo?

I might be grasping at straws here but

This coin was started by an Italian university student, not Kim Dotcom.

That's what they want you to think.

I'm not so concerned with the fairness as much as the security of the blockchain.  If the reward drops to 5k and the miners bail (I know I would), then our coin will be dead.  If we cannot agree on the changes, then we'll just leave it alone.

But reward will drop anyway to 5k, and a lot of miners probably will stop mining KMC. The idea was to finish "inflation" as soon as possible, to pump the price of kimocoin, which now is lowest. Would be preferable to see opinion of big-miners here.

Sounds good, that way we won't have THAT much in proportion to everyone else. (hopefully)

Don't forget that a LOT of people have KMC up to 100 000, and then their coins costs nothing. And these people are far more than "millionaires".
I think, would be right to leave the market to distribute already mined coins.
