How to use this Solar coin? It's "free" to receive and no use, why the price is 0,2$ ? Speculations?
Can somebody explain me
Can't find anything in internet

I think "speculation" is the one of the ultimate reasons for ALL of the digital coin prices, including bitcoin. Also, all stock market prices are based on speculation. So comparing the speculative price of solarcoin with the speculative price with many of the other altcoins, then the price of solarcoin appears very cheap right now... especially in consideration of the extreme potential this coin has to greatly help improve the renewable resources sector of energy. Thus, some people don't see an investment in this coin as just a "speculative" investment hoping that it will increase in value on the exchanges for a quick (or even long-term) profit, BUT rather many of the investors in this coin are actually investing into the future of the global environment by supporting the production of solar panels.

The "use" for this coin comes naturally with increasing popularity. As there are already companies in Europe who will accept solarcoin in exchange for products/energy, such as ekWateur. See this article for more info:

I feel SolarCoin has pretty good potential to grow. Looking forward to seeing how these presentations will go, but if this project takes off it will be *MAJOR*.

It basically encrypts your wallets private keys. Without a password anyone can steal your coins if they have access to your wallet.

thx , I like this wallet :-)

the passphrase I created with the installing of the wallet is like a privat key? Is this correct ...or is it just a password for the wallet?

Roadmap -  Whitepaper - Legal issue - Meeting Workshop to Presentation your project...

Or somebody know pls help me

There is an updated SolarCoin Media kit, dated Sept 1, 2017, that you can find on the group slack that answers some of these questions. Look under the
#public_mention_press category. (Not sure why it hasn't been uploaded to solarcoin.org, but I imagine it will be at some point in the near future).

Most of the altcoins that have "exploded" are already back to pre-explosion levels anyway. It mostly appears to be just speculation, and except for maybe a few instances, most of these coins really have nothing significant to offer like solarcoin does. In my opinion, what we really want is for solarcoin to explode all by itself, apart from the other coins, and hopefully in response to good solid news and not due to random happenstance.

I agree, although it is frustrating not to see this coin explode like other chrypto, it must be recognized that the volumes are increasingly important. Hopefully the ongoing talk with inverter manufacturers will be a success because if this is set up, the number of SLR in circulation will increase a lot.

And to answer SOLARCOINER, leaving the ship today is risky to miss a considerable rise. We have seen it lately. In addition, the Greeneum project could benefit SLR

But I agree, we need a news to make grow up again. Nick / Francois, do you have something for us?  Smiley

Solar Coin - The Bitcoin of Solar

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueMSYpgaW6A

This video is quite interesting! If you're short on time and can't watch the whole thing, then I would definitely recommend watching at least the first 3-4 minutes to get an idea about the current progress with Solarcoin.

Here are two excerpts:

"… it's a solar energy reward system, now given out in 39 countries. It's a very small community at this point, a couple thousand people. That's probably gonna change in the next couple of months and quarters in that we have some very early conversations with some of the world's largest solar energy monitoring companies and distributors, etc."

"... our back end software is slow and clunky, and so we haven't been actively marketing. We're going to hit an inflection point. We talk to one of these large monitoring companies, and then we are going to reach out. And so we are basically going to go from 0 to 100 in Tesla speed. What I mean by that is we've got monitoring companies, some global ones, that have combined between over 5-600,000 installs. We've had inbound requests from somebody that represents 13% of US solar energy. So, right now, a small community, a couple thousand people, we're hanging out, early adopters into it. That's going to change and I think in a really interesting way."

unfortunately this coin seems to be dead. It's probably not going anywhere anymore. I have accepted this fact and i've moved on.
A bunch of presentations and youtube videos won't magically make the price rise. Solarcoin must be one of the only coins that missed out on these past few bullish months for crypto. What a joke lol. I'm glad i had a bunch of other coins at least.

Good luck to this project and to everyone holding SLR Undecided

The Solarcoin Foundation has emphasized from the beginning that this is a 40-year project and not a 3-year project. Get-rich-quick schemes are for gamblers. Solarcoin is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It is a legit project to encourage/increase the production of world-wide renewable resources in the form of solar energy. I believe in and support the cause. Unfortunately, most of the cryptoworld (also Forex and stock trading) seems to be more about gambling to make a quick buck rather than finding awesome causes to believe in and support long-term. I'm not saying that gambling or day-trading is by any means "wrong" or "bad", as I have spent my fair share of time currency trading, stock trading, and even in casinos. But what the Solarcoin project needs is not more "gamblers" but rather more "investors" who also believe in the cause and are not merely interested in making a quick buck. That is most likely why people like Nick Gogerty and Francois Sonnet are actively pursuing speaking engagements with groups like the UN and PBOC, groups that have the financial means to potentially help provide long-term support for this innovative project.

I fail to see how this coin is "dead" or even close to beginning to "die."
SLR recently had an all-time high of about $0.41 just two weeks ago.
And SLR is currently trading around $0.20 which is a HUGE price increase as compared with two years ago when SLR was just a penny.
And the year before that SLR was five for a penny.
It seems we are on a very good course in the right direction.
Even bitcoin has huge price swings, reaching $3k one month, then dropping to $1.7k the next month, then up to $5k, then down to $4k.
But in spite of the huge volatility, the overall price trend for BOTH bitcoin and solarcoin continues to rise.
I see absolutely no signs that solarcoin is dead.
