ah hell, im a noob.

..thanks..my wallet just synced with one bar..but at least its connected...I copied your information...but I don't want to risk changing the files unless I have to...my friend lost all his coins trying that...so..I'm cautious..won't do it until I have to..at this point thinking of having a cloud wallet and sending them there if mine stays synced long enough...

Those IPs are the IPs that host the nodes with domains. It's pointless to have them twice. The correct config is in the OP.

There are some more nodes you can add to the smatcoin .conf file located in the smartcoin-win32 folder you originally downloaded.  Edit it and delete all the text. Replace it with the following:

Save the file and then copy the file itself. Next, go to the windows button and in the search bar type "%appdata%" without quotations. You should see a Roaming folder and inside that you should find your smartcoin folder. Paste the copied .conf file into the smartcoin folder and then restart the wallet. This should add more connections and should allow those of you who can't connect to connect and those of you with poor connections to have a better connection. Keep in mind not all of these nodes are active but a populated list, from what I understand, will give more opportunities to find a running node. Hope this helps.

...you call those clear instructions? I'm a Canadian living in china..don't want to start messing around with their Chinese language router...what the tarnation is a 'port forward'...for the sake of us less computer literate..could you simplify a bit...and why didn't the developers have this sorted to begin with?? Is it the miners job to troubleshoot their shoddy wallets??

And make sure you forwarded port 58585 (TCP) in your router and/or firewall.

I've made the exact opposite experience; out of all the coins I've mined (which, to be fair, are just around 8 or 9) this wallet syncs the fastest for me, and the transactions are the fastest too...

I had that issue but adding the nodes solved it for me.

Also make sure to add hash.so as a node.

yes...I helped a friend add them..and no difference..then we deleted the conf file and lost his 3 coins..(our mistake)..but we waited 2 hours to sync his wallet...and I rebooted my computer for another reason..and now it won't sync...this is a known issue..and the posts about the nodes does not work

...you guys really need to get this wallet issue sorted...people are going to drop away from this coin like crazy with this persistent issue!! I have 500 coins and everytime I open the wallet..it either never syncs..or takes an hour to do it with one bar...what will happen when the block chain gets large and this issue isn't addressed??? FIX it please...and its not my hardware or inexperience..I've been a mine for ages...this is a development issue.
