What worries me in this context as the manager of XSPEC is that the WISP team have promised all XSPEC holders 1:1 coins, so 1 XSPEC will get you 1 WISP, but as the fork date (01/05) is only 2 weeks away only a few XSPEC holders are aware. As far as I can tell only the people on the WISP Discord know about this. So the worry is that, come fork day, only a few XSPEC holders will be "made whole" as was the promise of the WISP team.

XSPEC is progressing well and look out for a newsletter tomorrow. We have new devs and we are working on a new roadmap.

Don't worry about any fork and any potential unfairness of ANOTHER project. What you xspec dev team should do is to push the development of XSPEC back to the right way.

The price of XSPEC has decreased to only 1/10 peak price. That always happen in the cryptoworld. But I still have a faith on XSPEC.

Spectrecoin has nothing to do with this fork. This makes the former developer xspec, who received the money and did nothing, which he promised and did not return the money. Spectrecoin is not responsible for his activities now.
He promises that all xspec holders will get 1:1 wisp. But his promises can not be trusted. This fact is verified by time.

Time will tell, the "snapshot" (1st of May) isn't far away. Let's focus on the great progress XSPEC does during the couple of days and will do within the next months, that is what we have to communicate here to get more people into this fantastic project!!

Most Advanced Crypto Exchange on the Blockchain
There will be a fork so anyone holding xspec in their wallet will receive an equal amount of wisp coins. TBH i don't think it is even worth bothering about, we can tell wisp is just a shitcoin with no development or future ahead. Doubt it will even get listed on any exchange

could someone explain to me what's all this fork thing that's being brought to the table by xspec dev?
is xspec expected to lose or gain value upon the fork and also, will us xspec holders gain something from it?

Are you then ranting about a project that does not exist? You contradict yourself quite a bit here. Also, I have not seen any laws saying that unless a crypto project is on BCT it cannot exist.
I meant that the wisp project exists only in words and in fact it is wisp coins  do not exist now.
and why should we talk about the wisp project here? Create a separate topic  BCT and continue to deceive people. Here we have an xspec project.

The developer of Wisp worked with the xspec project, he was paid money, but he did not do the work and the money did not return to the community. Now he created another project, but since his reputation is spoiled, he appointed another person to be a leader. But their project now is a theory, it does not exist. They do not even have topics on the forum BCT.

Jbg was supposed to make the update 1.4 back in November 2017, but it did not. Then he transferred the release date to 1.12.17. Then the end of December, then another month and so on. Then on the first of March. Now the date is not known at all.
The Wisp project leader vvc said that wisp release is expected on May 1, 2018 and update 1.4 will be after several months after the release of wisp. I also talked with him and before he headed the project he was not even sure if there was an update 1.4, he also said that stealth staking exists only in theory, there is only white paper, which in practice no one even checked. And no one saw this white paper. Or maybe the calculations in this paper are not true? Who knows? Bryce has been working on stealth staking for more than 6 months and for the time he only wrote a few pages of paper that he did not show to anyone and did not check in practice.
Also in early March, Jbg promised a release of stealth staking in the wisp project in Q2. And now, after one month, we are told that it is generally unknown when there will be a release of stealth staking, at least it will not be done Q2 or even Q3. I bought xspec, thinking that the release of wallet 1.4 would be 1.12.18, but this did not happen and as a result, the developer altogether left the project and again deceives us with the release date.
I believed him earlier, but now I think he's a fraud. No one kicked him out of the Spectrecoin project, he was only asked to release wallet 1.4, but he refused and said that the work is not ready and then asked to give us what has already been done and another developer will help finish the wallet together. But Jbg did not show anything and left the project.
Do not you think Gandalf that he could show wallet to another developer who could help speed up the release of the wallet?
After all, spectrecoin is an open and decentralized project. Gandalf do not you think that stealth staking formulas in white paper can be mistaken?
Work six months with this and never check in practice Gandalf do you think this is a good developer?
How could he promise the release date of Q2, even if he did not check the correctness of the formulas and code. I believe that Jbg must return the money, because he did not show anything, he just talks, he does not make a road map and he ruined the reputation of the project and because of him we have nothing now.
he even wisp will release (if there will be release) without updating 1.4, although in March he said that the work is almost complete))

Yes, Xlcus
Jbg first did the work and he did several updates. But for the last six months he promised to rewrite wallet on another code and implement stealth staking. He received money for these six months, but later refused to provide this job and also did not return this money, which he received for writing wallet v1.4 and stealth staking.

We donated money to jbg so that he could work full-time on it and would not have to have another job in parallel. Overhauling the wallet interface was part of the roadmap, but he didn't finish it before Mandica came back on the scene. Then a lot of fights happened and he is now continuing his work under a different project name. Nobody "paid" him for anything, we donated money to him for his past and current work ... that's a big difference that people seem to get wrong.  Wink

Ok but there is probably given information about it somewhere or what is the point of announcing it and creating some excitement?

Wisp will be announced when we have the rebranded wallet, repositories and everything set up. In the meantime you can find a short overview here: https://github.com/wispproject/doc/wiki

If I understand correctly, the XSPEC will split into two coins: the new XSPEC and the WISP.
This is the new XSPEC thread. Where is the WISP thread then?

Can we own both or is there only one option? What is the technical difference between the two and do I have to manually claim WISP?

We can not compare these two coins, since the Wisp coin does not exist.
It is only planning to release in the future.
But the date is unknown to us.

I can't get the point.

"The developer of Wisp worked with the xspec project" vs. "but he did not do the work".

"the money did not return to the community." ---> paid money?

It is the same as Bitcoin.

First, you should unlock your wallet.
Then go to Help--> Debug Window ---> Console
Input:
dumpprivkey your_XSPEC_address

Thanks for this. Is somewhere a doc to spectre CLI?

BTW is stealth address somehow bound to a public one? I tried to dump private key for stealth address which didn't work. I have only two default addrs - a public and a stealth one.

Quick update

We have hired two professional developers to work on the cryptographic implementation in XSPEC, the GUI and to replace QTWebKit with QTWebEngine and produce quality reproducible wallet builds. This will enable us to develop a detailed and realistic roadmap. We will publish the first bi-weekly newsletter this Sunday with more details. We also have community devs coming on board so expect to see code updates and a new wallet soon. We have also engaged a company to build a new website.

For all the naysayers out there, we are just getting started with this next phase of XSPEC development!

That sounds good. However, all of these require a support of fund. Can the community fund afford to these?

As far as I know all of the initial payments will be paid out of Mandicas pocket, in the future (couple of weeks I guess) these activities will be paid by the 5% mandatory staking donations which should be enough (also at a low price of XSPEC).

Transparency also improved a lot on GitHub, so it will be easy to follow this improvement process.  --> +1

Thanks for reproducing the development update, great news about the team expanding and looking forward to new the roadmap!
