when are we going to see some merchants accepting XSPEC? None of the biggest market places like dream market, tochka or wallstreet are accepting XSPEC. I like the coin and I trust it. I thin k it's time we put it to some use and break the monero monopoly.

Is there a list of places where I can spend my XSPEC?

Dude, why so impatient?

If we like to do ourselves a favour, stake 100% for the team! Worth it!

i would soon like to invest in XSPEC and there would still be a question about pos.
how many coins do i need to stake and how high is the roi?

I have just earlier today started staking my XSPEC coins.
I should receive my reward in about 7 days. My question is, is it safe to restart my computer during this time or will it reset back to 8 days if I restart?

Both of you should take a look at this little FAQ that I wrote: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/crypto-intro-guide/wiki/Proof-of-Stake

The reward is 5% p.a.

Thanks, so just to confirm, my 541 coins would be about 1,55 per day?
541 * 1.05 / 365 = 1,55 XSPEC

541 * 0.05 / 365 = 0,074 XSPEC

That math correct? Because if it's so low I'm ditching staking because it's not worth it.

1. examine the FAQ Gandalf.
2. at this rate You will be charged 0.2 coins per day because of transaction 2.14 coins respectively, at 10 days You will receive dividends.
3. running a wallet on your computer consumes very little energy, but each new purse adds more stability to the system.
4. And if next year xspec will cost$1000? Are you sure you want to lose a potentially good income?.

$1000? I doubt that will happen. I don't think even $100 will happen.

i downloaded the wallet today (my first wallet ever and its totally synced, i normally leave the coins on the exchange)
Can someone please provide me the answers to the following questions to help me further.

1 - the wallet is not staking because coins are immature. How long (on average) does it take to become mature ? (hours/ days / weeks / months ?)
2 - I can't find the location of the map/program on my pc where it's downloaded. if i buy a new laptop, how to transfer the wallet incl. coins to the new laptop ? (just copy paste the whole map?
3 - if its possible to transfer the program to another laptop, will the public key / private key / password for unlocking be the same ?

kindest regards,
snowboard

How would you guys compare this coin to Onion?

The official position on Onion from SpectreCoin's position is (see https://altcoinwiki.org/en/SpectreCoin)

(DeepOnion ...)

Quote
This comparison was removed due to repeated removal or disturbance of our explanation regarding the numerous problems that we see with DeepOnion. The SpectreCoin project does not consider DeepOnion to be a serious competitor in any of the objectives covered by SpectreCoin. Please use the article about DeepOnion and other resources to do your own research.

There are a number of independent sources you can use for comparison. A good one, for instance, is here :

Is anyone having syncing issues with the new Mac wallet, I have noticed a red bar that will pop up in the top right corner, if I hover over the bar it reads something along the lines of wallet out of sync, catching up to current block. I have only noticed it doing this since updating to the new wallet. I have also had 6 of 7 of my last stakes "generated but not accepted stakes". Could this be due to the syncing issue I am having??

Any help is much appreciated

The red bar thing is called syncing, it's a good thing!  Cheesy

What "generated but not accepted" means, you can look up here: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/crypto-intro-guide/wiki/Proof-of-Stake#why-is-my-stake-conflicted-or-not-accepted

Note that you won't be staking until your wallet is fully synced.

Ah no worries then, thanks for the info and link Gandalf86, I've been curious about the difference types of POS so that link has some additional reading for me Roll Eyes

Is there a white paper?

Check out the wiki at https://altcoinwiki.org/en/SpectreCoin

It acts as the current white paper for XSPEC. I believe there are some efforts to produce a more traditional PDF paper as well,  but I can't comment on it's status.

Cool thanks

Looks like this coin compares very favorably against other privacy coins-and I think privacy coins will be a big sector in 2018.

Basically I just need to find liquidity so I can buy more...
