Time for my daily stupid question. I started mining, which is working fine. But I am curious about my wallet. I sent a small amount from Bittrex to my Wallet and nothing has turned up yet. My wallet is locked. Does it need to be unlocked to receive payments?

Good point. I suppose when it's done in the work place it's done very low-key. Putting it online crosses that licensing line. What if you went down the Nintendo Tecmo Bowl route and dropped names, and just used dallas v. San Francisco or is that grey area too?

If it was in big enough demand I'm sure we could retain the appropriate lawyer and figure out all of the details, but for gaming licenses, even online with cryptos I'm sure it's all gray.  I typed that and as I'm doing so thought to myself, if I'm betting Neos for Neos, I don't see why it'd be an issue.  With that being said, we're going to have some real fun in the near future. =)

Thanks for the update, that's really awesome!!!

In case you did not know, Minerals coin had an interesting and mostly working betting service based on e-sports, particularly on Star Craft 2. They made their own website with a betting platform that streamed live Starcraft games from twitch.tv. I was a big supporter but then the whole project was left to die because the developers couldn’t find a way to implement anon (what the masses desired for the price of Minerals to be competitive). It’s a good thing we can learn from other’s failure and that Neos already realized anon. Good things are sure to come!

The issue with hosting it ourselves is licensing.  Big, big hurdle there.  However, I'm sure can come up with some in-house "interesting" games of chance.  I'll be thinking on it and update everyone.  Until then, we'll be on the lookout for any potential opportunities to either be accepted in an online casino or purchase the software ourselves.

Are you talking NFL or 'Football'? Yes odds on football or any sport is tricky.

The NFL pool is very straightforward...

Lets say the pool has a buy in of 25 Neos

The week 1 NFL games are

Week 1

Packers v. Seahawks
Saints v. Falcons
Vikings v. rams
Browns v. Steelers
Jags v. Eagles
Raiders v. Jets
Bengals v. Ravens
Bills v. Bears
Redskins v. Texans
Titans v. Chiefs
Patriots v. Dolphins
Panthers v. Bucs
49ers v. Cowboys
Colts v. Broncos

MNF
Giants v. Lions
Chargers v. Cardinals

Lets say 50 people did the pool - you'd have a pot of 1250 neos. Everyone would pick winners for all the games and for MNF you'd pick a winner and points. Points would be a tie breaker. No odds needed. It's just pool betting. I'm not really sure if there is a way to cheat this type of pool. But seeing as it would be fun, not sure if anyone would want to ruin it.

Agreed. I think the odds betting is tricky as the odds would need to be inline with what is being offered in the market. And who would be the house? And you are right, there would need to be a cap for betting as wel as a reserve pool to pay out winners.

As for the NFL pool. This one is easy to do, as you pay your entry fee and pick winners. Winner takes pot. No odds involved, so there is no chance of having to pay more than what was put in the pot.

As for other markets, european... yes the same could apply - doing a pool of games, picking winners and having a pot for the winner.

I think proper betting with odds is a bit more involved as there are so many aspects you can bet on in one game.

I posted on Twitter regarding sports betting...

I would be interested in this if it were feasible. There would need to be a house that could cover winnings and provide proper odds for a variety of markets. I'll look to see if anyone mainstream is doing this with other coins.

I know there is a Super Bowl pool going with another coin. But that isn't odd based. It's just picking a team and placing money on them to win the Super Bowl. Which might be one thing to do with Neoscoin as well.

Paddy Power is a large bookie here in the UK. Right now, they have no events to bet on in Bitcoin. So I am unsure of how they handle it. But there seems to be plenty of sites that take Bitcoin as a payment method. I can't imagine it being too difficult to do something similar.

One idea... not really sports betting with odds. But my Dad used to have this football pool at work. You'd pay $2 and pick winners from all the weekends game, and then Monday night would be used as a tiebreaker. So you'd have a pot of $50, winner take all. That might be easier to monitor without worry about odds.

Joe

i think all this would work but it would def have to be with odds and the same odds that are on real bookie sites... if we had neos as the bookie/house the odds are that the house always wins... so if we had this platform and any other coin can be used to bet on a game neos can bring in a nice profit, that can be held in escrow for future larger projects or tons of other things ... but remember this is gambling so the house can take a hit so there would have to be a cap limit... also the house would have to start up with a lot of neoscoins in case we have to pay out to winners right off the bat...

this is just talk of maybe something that can be interesting for future side projects... don't think it should be focused on , should be something well discussed and thought out and not require too much of twoturtles time Wink (cause his time is our gold)

this is mostly a project that should be mostly done by the community if they want it and of course two turtles help

edit* also before we even discuss all this loll we got to see if its even legal Smiley

Football will be a pain cause you need to figure out the odds really carefully cause a lot teams are just domonating this competitions. but its def possible , cause many websites are already putting on the odds of games way before the matches.
also a small betting fee. can make the hits on the House a lot lower. I Think it aint a bad idea at all.

neos is a strong coin with a strong graph.
even if it dips i would see that as an opportunity to buy many more.
it's stupid to sell this coin now to try to buy lower, because it is more likely to go way up instead and you will end up with less neos.
it has potential to go to 1 million satoshis.
you might feel bad for selling.
imo, since you want to buy back, don't forget to do it before you sleep because when you wake up you might end up buying less coins than you had.

Trying to get rich by gleaning more information from the graphs than all the other traders who see the same graphs you do works sometimes, but it's just like playing poker. When you think you're the smartest guy at the table, you're usually not. Countless people have tried to make money in the stock and commodities market that way, and more have lost than gained.

Think in fundamental terms. The coin has value based on its characteristics. BTC also has characteristics, and a value. It's characteristics are all the well-known benefits of crypto, plus a large user base, plus a large development community, plus scarcity and a relatively stable price compared to the alts. It also has weaknesses, that Neos doesn't have being a newer coin with popular features and lessons learned over time which cannot be reversed. What Neos needs is development, users, and time. The development is going along superbly; originally we were supposed to just be starting mining and now here we are with multiple pools, heavy mining, and a v2 wallet coming out. The things that BTC built up over time will also come over time, and only with time. I'm mining Neos and also BTC, so I can pay the rent on the mine room and buy cheap Neos if someone is giving it away. In a couple of years I expect my Neos to be worth millions $, and some great casino apps that I can use them on and do what I am best at!

Hi, I left this thread some time ago before to have my holidays. I ve bought Neos and I remember that it should be released in 14 of september, but as I can see all has been done before. I'm holding and it's obviuos I m not going to sell it. Please, just an update: wallet has been released, on what are we working now?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Best dev, best coin
Good luck

Thanks a lot for your support firstly. =)  I've posted in here and on Twitter (@Neoscoin) regarding updates, status, the direction we're currently heading in and so forth so I would suggest following on Twitter for sure to get the most current news.  Right now at this point what's been done is:

1.  Bugs from v1 are gone
2.  A ton of new features are coming in v2 (currently being developed)
3.  Aliases instead of wallet addresses are now complete, tested and working and will be in v2
4.  A ton more info will be accessible and displayed in the new wallet
5.  Better address management/alias management

We've reached out to several places so far and we've gotten responses from a few with some deals in the works on their way to finalization.  We're also currently one of the cryptos being used in the beta testing of AltcoinWarehouse (a process), trying to get casheer to have us on board as a payment option, requested that Neos be added to a few payment processors and more.  There's a lot I'm leaving out because I want it all to be a surprise in v2 but I promise it'll be well-worth the wait.  I think a bit crazily outside of the box so expect some wild stuff. =)
