It looks like the VTR news item has been shared quite a lot on twitter.

It seems to be one of the most shared articles they have published recently.

Is this the final fork of VTR (i mean there wont be any other forks after you finish the beta) ? So can I buy now VTR? You wont remake the coin later right?

There will be only one VTR, and in the future if there is any updates which requires hard fork, current chain of VTR will be move over.

any alive pool for that coin??

VTR is now proof of stake currency, but we should be getting one multipool that pay out in VTR soon.

Regards,

vTorrent

Hi there,

I'm interested in joining the development team and offer some help in the process. But first I would like to know the rough outline of how this all works. Feel free to drop me a PM. Thank you.

I just read this article and decided to drop by and say Hello!  Wink

But it would have been nice to to explain exactly how vTorrent solves traditional torrents problems and what advantages it brings to the scene.

And on another matter, did vTorrent consider using vTorrent client with Storj ? That would be huge..

I have done a review of torrents and crypto and I have looked at Storj:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.10231367

I haven't done anything detailed on Storj yet, but I looked up their git progress.  I've been waiting to hear on progress. Has there been any?

Oh, that looks like an interesting read, will get to that later, thanks!

I have an idea, maybe you can implement it:

It would be easier for people new to VTRs torrent client to be able to use old magnet links.
Suppose you opened an old magnet link and the VTR client pops up, it starts the download and asks you if you want to build-in the magnet into the blockchain.
This way you are not only safeguarding new magnets, but also backing up existing magnets.
If I opened a torrent file, it would generate a magnet from that and use the magnet to start the download. ( and ask if you want to build in the magnet)

I don't know if all of this is possible, but it would be a very nice feature.

I am not so convinced yet, the majority of users are just downloaders.
They don't care if torrent(site)s are taken down, there will be new torrents.
So there is no incentive for the downloaders to start using it.

...you cannot imagine why is this important

Downloaders are being taken to court in USA, Australia, Canada, etc...
Hollywood lawyers have launched a Holy War against internet freedom that must be countered.

Torrent sites had $200 million in ad revenues before recent take downs... so lots of $$$ sloshing around...
People will always pay for convenience and privacy.

This thread reminds me of the Nxt ANN thread from 2013 =  lots of doubters...
But Dev has an initial business model and is getting the code done.

This coin is so undervalued right now!! Anything under 3 to 4k a coin is a steal in my opinion!! I've been non-stop snagging more and more each and everyday!! Yeah Yeah

This could be a top ten coin if the dev can pull it off.

It could bring millions more people into crypto, look at how many people use torrents, compared to half a million or so crypto users.
