Hi Gents,

I would like to purchase a antminer L3 , what price range am I looking at and were will I be able to get one now. It seems like it's very hard to get stock these days.

if someone can perhaps help me with a price for the antminer and PSU? Hopefully this is all that is needed.

I'm new to the mining business , sorry for the stupid questions.

Clueless!
I've noticed a video at Eastshore and they are running it on a 5 cable connection when bitmain site says you need atleast 9 apparently.  https://youtu.be/QsizYKXnTpI

Does anyone know if it's safe to run a 5 pci-e connection for the antminer l3+ ?

That 5 pci connection is for the L3. L3+ requires 9 PCIE connectors. Eastshore's listing includes the L3 which is not offered any longer that I know of.
wit

Strange ... According to the video, its running on a 5 pci-e connection and is the l3+ and not the l3 and it's running fine.  :/

Well ..not sure if this applies (mine are in a data hall and I did not have a hand in it)

the bitmain site at

shop.bitmain.com

shows you can use shows the apw++ you can use with ONE L3+ or ONE S9

hope this helps..me I just run ONE L3+ on ONE bitmain PSU (April and May supplies with my batch)

I mean why push the TWO on a  PSU at 120 bucks with shipping? A little less load will probably mean a lot less problems.

If this is not what you meant...I'm out of my depth.

5 pci-e connection is designed for the old antminer  L3 with 256 MH

The new L3+ with 504 MH need 9 pci-e connection

You could run 2 L3+ on a 20amp 120v circuit, but you could only run one on a regular 15amp circuit.  Well you could run 2, but you will likely end up serving drinks and food to a bunch of guys with a big red truck, sirens, and some spotted dogs... LOL

I am also looking at building out some 220v circuits and trying to figure out the plug, and PDU configurations etc for this.

and heck your making money hand over fist now right? (or will be at least for a bit) just get an electrician and all you got to do is say where and point Smiley

Thanks for the feedback guys. And yeah, at this point, assuming july difficulty increase with new units coming online and price updates don't drop profitability down to anything too horrible, I'm just going to hire an electrician. If profitability stays anywhere like current levels, the demand for outside hosting will continue to grow and I'll need a place to run them in the meantime. Not having the electrical engineering background, or really any electrical background, setting stuff on fire is not my goal nor having the equipment burn out or anything. Thanks again all.

For everyone who ordered way back with the "shipping within 10 days after payment" it will be send with miners or other products in one package....
Mine came in separate packages on the same day (May batch)

Well I hope that will be the case with me also. I was really worried they messed up because it was not stated that they will send it not right away.

I hope both arrive at the same time and not days apart lol

Don't be so sure about it cos my first l3+ was sent in different boxes.
One came from CN to middle europe in three days in my hands. It was with the PSU.
Second one with miner inside stops at the customs check one week later.

Well that sucks if its stuck at customs, but not to dramatic. It would kill me if I receive my freaking miners but they waited months to send the stupid PSU and that does not get delivered in time that I can run my miners lol

There are no ASICs for Alts?

Seems you are also more writing than reading, cos whole this thread is about asic for scrypt alts.
