Reading this discussion I'm so happy I do live in a country witch is poor, has monthly wages around 600 USD but has 230V electricity circuits. With my 16amp I can run 3 pcs L3+ on one plug... And I do have three this circuits in my house.

Clueless!
You could run 2 L3+ on a 20amp 120v circuit, but you could only run one on a regular 15amp circuit.  Well you could run 2, but you will likely end up serving drinks and food to a bunch of guys with a big red truck, sirens, and some spotted dogs... LOL

I am also looking at building out some 220v circuits and trying to figure out the plug, and PDU configurations etc for this.

If you have 15 awg breaker and 15 awg plug (120v) on a 12 awg wire 20 amp wire (look you should be able to tell the diff between 12 awg wire and 14 awg wire..the 12 awg 20 amp
wire is bigger more robust)

anyway if THAT is the case (be sure if not leave it 14 awg or 15 amp wire that would be bad)  you can then make the neutral on that run ..the white wire a black wire with some black
electrician's tape (you'd have to change all 120 plugs to 220 on that circuit also) on both ends ...thus two marked black wires to a 20amp double pole breaker
on the panel (you'll need an extra slot) and 2 marked black wires to your choice of 220v outlet. Again all other outlets between have to be changed to a 220 plug
or simply wire nut bypassed and a blank cover put on those former 120v extra outlets. Then when you are DONE mining you can switch the whole works back
on a 120v 1 pole 20 amp breaker and swap back to the regular 120v outlet.

AGAIN ONLY CATCH this is if you are SURE the wire that exists on your 15 amp circuit is 12awg and 20 amp rated.

You can also if it is a small run or something get 12 awg wire and perhaps replace 15awg wire by just connecting old wire 14awg to new wire 12awg and pull and replace
and do above ..or use a piece of conduit and when done mining get rid of the conduit. If in a garage...just run the conduit where you wish...easy peasy..

anyway youtube has lots of videos.....on this....the bigger problem if in-house proper (not garage or basement) would be the noise and loudness of an L3+

the stuff above I mention have tons of youtube videos on the workarounds above

and heck your making money hand over fist now right? (or will be at least for a bit) just get an electrician and all you got to do is say where and point Smiley

Yes I am a pirate, 300 years too late!
Anyone have recommendations for 1kPSUs for the L3+s that aren't from bitmain so can be run via residential power
I.e., 120v? I heard the evga1000 had enough connections but wasn't sure due to the rails.  Any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure you can run them at 120v

on the other hand if you have a circuit (or run one) with 20 amp 12awg wire...just mark the white wire at both ends black put both on your choice of 220 plug on
one end and the 2 (now black wires) on a double pole 20 amp breaker..as long as the ONLY thing on this revamped circuit is all 220v now ..

and again ..you can always just run new wire above at 220v and when mining is done flip the breaker back to 20 amp single pole (take off black wire use as neutral)
and change the 220 plug to 120 plug at the wall...and things are all kosher

youtube is full of projects like this

but again 120v prob nope...also they are loud unless they are in the garage and basement and if so .....say basement..just do what I did ..you can even do the
sub-panel trick like mine from youtube videos

anyway my view on 120v .even if it works I would not run them on anything but 220v

brad

Sure you can run them on 120V.  I have 4 R4's running on 120V right now.  Yes, I have just worked up a 220V circuit and I'm waiting for my PDU.  You just can't have more than one miner per circuit at 120V,  Like Searing said, 220V is the way to go.

Depending on coin difficulty is getting adjusted after set period of each coin. For some it's after each block block for some like Bitcoin it's after 10 days or so.  So if in period minning hashrate has increased then diffiiculty increase, if decreses then difficulty decreses. As to correct difficulty for average block time.

Also your payouts depend on luck. Your pool might be lucky or unlucky finding blocks.

also if the pool hashrate goes down, and the pool finds a block you'll get paid more.

The difficulty is on that specific coins network difficulty.  The pools hashpower is just a percentage of that coins total network.  The pool can stay the same but another pool might add more hashpower thus lowering your pools total percentage of said coins network....thus lowering your expected returns.  Also mining is also luck based on any particular day, over time law of averages should play out.

Sorry guys let me rephrase that question.. One day I will be making less and the next day I will be making more? My understanding was that once the differculty level has been reached its doesn't decrease hench why I'm confused on how my payouts have increased.

Could some one explain the difficulty on pools, I've noticed that one day I'm making more and the next I'm making less and it has nothing to do with the pools hashing power. :S

Higher the difficulty less you make with same hashrate.
