Update on website

Quote
Limited units sales.

Shipment will be started on Feb 28th.

BITMAIN always do the fastest shipment !!!

The good news is that with a 2 week delay and no price drop I don't need to hammer the website at 3pm to try and get an order in.

But whats the problem then? Bitmain didnt block more than x miners per user. If someone was lucky to get hands on all miners in one go i say good job. Just because u wasnt that person that mean u have to cry and accused for not being supportive?
How would you comment all this if this one person who bough all miners was you?

I have to agree, I noticed several people complaining about not being able to by had multiple units in their cart, sure ir ead one person complain he did not get to buy the 6 miners in his cart..... pot kettle black.

i was hoping to buy 2-5 units .. yeah i frutrated and upset .

there was no opportunity to buy any ant units that was a myth ..

whatever.. price of bitcoin xcrewed us on our buy opportunity ..

i guess my ant farm isnt going to grow ..

maybe i can get some wasps are they due soon Huh

or something.. hope somebody has something in stock soon.

Patience is a virtue....

The Ants are only temporarily out of stock.
I too am bumped by the fact but I am willing to wait and hopefully get more Ants at a lower price.

As i really do understand what you saying i have to defend bitmain move. 30 units must be sold- if this is one person or 30 people is still 30x1,45btc so for bitmain there is no difference.

Limited stock is something which usually make issues for sellers. Demand is big and all know that. BITMAIN is first company who actually delivering stock not promises. I bet they working hard to open sale for more s1 soon.
I understand if that is your view, but in my view, for any company that has a public face and has stated that they want to help the community and decentralize the network, there is a very big difference...
What do think is better, selling 30 units to one person who will never come back as they have all they need, probably souring a lot of potential buyers that will not return or selling 30 units to 30 different people who will probably come back for more? Bitamin is a big company with big future plans, not someone selling stuff on fleabay... and I'm sure they'll wise up to that fact sooner rather than later Wink

I dont know how many miners u purchased in past but obviously not many as you getting upset because someone was faster than you.
I made few purchases from sushi and bitmain. All together its 10 miners. Is that mean im bad person because i want all 10 now not withing 1 month?
As you can see i did purchase few in one go and i did comeback for more.

What i can see and what i can read is J.account , newbies account crying over something which is purely and simple life.
I dont see hero members, full members etc to comment like you. Reason for that is simple: they fully understanding how this works. Instead wasting time for all this focus on something more constructive and maybe look for resselers in your area. There is shit loads of miners in the market.

Good luck
Oh wow, you really don't read do you? I didn't want to buy a miner, I already have. I am not upset, where did I say that... stop reading into things. I started out with merely stating that a company that states that they want to support the community and decentralize the network, aren't really doing that by selling 24/30 units to one person. It's got nothing to do with how many units you have and I have nothing against you for having 10, that was never the discussion or the point.

Oh yeah, if you'd purchased all 10 miners in one go, would you have returned? Dude, think a little and try to use examples that fit the argument.

Oh wow, crying... really? Jeez you are really low and your age shows in your posts... you just had to bring out the Jr account vs. Sr vs. Hero Member thing? Really? Maybe you should try and hone your "supersleuth skillz" and you'll notice that my account is older than your's, what could that mean? Do I know more than you? Perhaps, perhaps not. Maybe, I read more and don't post as much one line bullshit as you do. Ooooh look I got more hashes than you do.... oh c'mon!

Stop trying to act all macho and call everyone cry babies, it really looks silly.

P.S. try using spell check once in a while.... it even underlines the things that are wrong...

It isn't Bitmain's job to mandate a socialist distribution pattern.  1 for you, and 1 for you, and 1 for you.

Don't get me wrong.  Bitmain could make a rationing of five (5) Antminers to any one individual if they so desired.
It's not socialist distribution, it's called decentralization which is one of the cores of the Bitcoin network, so there's no need to attach negative labels to it in order to try turn the argument around.

I received my one (1) S1 Antminer and instantly wished I had purchased more.  But that's life.   I was one of the first people in the que to place my order before Chinese New Year.  Just received it two days ago... but that's another story.

Get what you get and don't get upset.  Helping the community isn't defined as helping YOU.
Again you're making the assumption that I was trying to buy one in this round, let me reiterate if you don't want to fully read my posts: I was not trying to buy a unit in this round. I already have my units, long before CNY and received them all very professionally without delays and with no problems purchasing, so I'm not upset with Bitmain at all. Anyway my statement wasn't that Bitmain should help me, the idea of "rationing" (as you put it) itself is that it would help everyone equally and not just me... am I speaking English?

Anyone who receives an Antminer and starts mining is part of the community, eh?
Yes, purely by the definition of the word community... look it up!

Edit: Wait I'll make that easier: Community: [MASS NOUN] the condition of sharing or having certain attitudes and interests in common

You do realise that this goes against Bitmain's company statement that they will support the bitcoin community? With today's mining consolidation problem, selling 24 units to 1 person is not supporting the community. I hope Bitamin will realise this and sort out their ordering process next time to make it more fair to the whole community and not just a select few.
But whats the problem then? Bitmain didnt block more than x miners per user. If someone was lucky to get hands on all miners in one go i say good job. Just because u wasnt that person that mean u have to cry and accused for not being supportive?

I was not whining, crying or complaining about it, I wasn't even trying to buy 1, never mind 6. I was just stating that with the way this previous sale went, it was not exactly supporting the community, c'mon 24 units for 1 person is a little much with only 30 for sale. I'm pretty sure Bitmain overlooked this possible problem and they will fix it in the next buy (we'll have to wait and see), I was just highlighting that point. I'm not bemoaning the guy who got 24 units, well done to him for trying, he obviously had the coins and internet speed, it's just up to Bitmain to prevent this in order to hold up their reputation... that's if they want to support the community; if they just want to sell units to the highest bidder then that's fine too, it's their company and their decision... just trying to bring a little sanity to the outrage on this thread.

Why all of u crying all the time? Bitmain selling 31 s1 and if this means that one guy will buy all 31 bitmain will be happy.
At the end of this chain is bitmain with BTC for units. Dosnt matter from how many customers.
Do you want price drop? Stay away from shop and wait. They will produce another batch and price will drop.

31 is not limited stock, that is hardly any stock. Its more about being misled, when I thought short supply I thought 100-200 units. I wouldnt of wasted my time trying to get a unit if that was the case.People  dont like being misled

No one is mislead. Bitmain is doing good job. I dont see old customers crying... Im customer of sushi and bitmain and ordered few and i learned the lesson and waiting game is nothing new for me.

I suggest read, ask if doubt and wait.
If you look how many they sold recently(around 1900 orders) and they managed to ship most within 2 days you will understand what kind of issue they facing on daily basis.

And by crying you not helping them. Do you think they will cry because they cant sell 31 units to 31 people?
If someone was faster and bought all of it -congratulation to the guy.

Good luck and i suggest WAIT and see...

I completely agree this is not the place to get into a debate over manufacturers, but discussing future hardware projections is beneficial to buyers, sorry if you don't see that.

One last thing, I never knew BFL were trusted, but somehow many people were silly enough to give them money for vaporware, with no real proof they could achieve the task in the time frame set out. Bitfountain on the other hand, well going by past experience, production speed and volume, i really think they will do okay.

I had never preordered anything until recently(KnC neptune, only because they have delivered before) and i generally don't recommend it, I have not recommended anyone to go preorder with this chinese reseller of AM, but i do think the miner specification information is relevant to ALL buyers from any manufacturer, hence why this info is posted in the KnC thread, blackarrow thread and hashfast.

edit: you never know Bitmain might just start producing Bitfountain chip based miners, if the raw costs are worth it compared to his current opperation. The chip spec, cost and time fram bitfountain are offering is very competitive and will make things much more interesting.

oh, comparing Bitfountain to BFL is a big mistake, one of these companies rocks, the other doesn't Wink
Oh please, another assumption... I was not even talking about comparing Bitfountain to BFL. I was hinting at the fact that there are numerous companies out there who were regarded as 'trustworthy' in the past and sold pre-orders and are currently screwing a lot of people over.... not only BFL. I was just giving fair-warning to those who you are addressing (obviously newbies because serious miners would already know about this stuff) who don't yet know about the whole pre-order fiasco because they could easily get hooked.

premined or preordered, very similar in this day and age.
Does this not justify my point that it's not a good idea to pre-order?

Note: you may reply if you like, but I'm not going to carry on this 'conversation' on Bitmain's thread, nothing against you, I'm not bowing out, but it's wasting pages and it's not the place for it.

You obviously know little about bitfountain or Friedcat.
This info is very much so relavent to many buyers and helps them choose to buy now or prepare for.the future.

I would call bitfountains news of gen3 miners as important as when they flooded the market with 335mhs USB miners.

Chances of bitmain coming out with a new generation of chips before April are slim if you ask me and a 1thps antminer will pull about 2000w, which is just not scalable in normal environments.

2thps antminer for 4kw or 5thps for 3kw....... I know which I would rather be running in April.
No matter how you might try to justify it; it's called thread-jacking my friend. You've already mentioned it, people who are interested can go and look for it. Otherwise just start your own thread praising your favourite manufacturer.
