If anyone is wondering, I'm seeing 10A @ 208V for two S2 units on my PDU.

I think I've got everything prepped:

-bench cleared and ready for surgery reseating the inevitably unseated cards.  cordless screwdriver battery charging.
-2nd router daisy-chained to primary router to create 192.168.1.x subnet
-AntMiner S2 manual pdf downloaded and open
-exterior security cameras watching for UPS truck
-credit card on hand to pay import duty
-wearing out command-r refreshing this thread

Reseated all the boards, and rerouted some of the wires and taped down the fan wires (they are a bit close to the boards for my taste). Booted up. First boot with full fans is LOUD. Just plugged in my settings and is rebooting now. I have some pictures and a video of the first Boot with full fans I can upload in a bit. I lack Kill-a-watt or a sound leveler so I can't help out with those.

The main fans are 4X 120x38mm though. They are Jiang Shan Lai (JSL) DC Brushless Model JDH1238B. 12V - 1A.

Thanks!

Could you check me when you here?

I should know what to order.... Ants will be here in the middle of next week and I always change the fans to high cfm....

I imagine they use the same 120x38 fans as the S1 - you want lots of airflow for a system like this.

Could tell me somebody the fans are 120x38 or 120x20mm?

Maybe?

Not at home to check but I'm quite sure they're 38mm

Just received my lone S2. I can confirm that the straps on the box do nothing but entice the driver to sling it around 1-handedly as I watched the man grab it and bounce it off the 2-steps of his truck. The package is well worn around the edges for just 3-day trip and has nice rip into the side. Unboxing now. Bad note, I can hear things rolling around inside the box already. Sad

Cash - UPS don't take credit cards (in the UK anyway)...

My UPS in Scotland/UK Took Card fine but tbh best doing it over the phone so there is no on hand delivery charges plus means a lot faster Smiley

Yes but to be fair Bitmain is standing behind the problems, and is taking ALL of the loss (including paying for return shipping).  They are the only company reliably shipping 1 Th/s miners and they did it without pre-orders.  They already have a fix for Batch 2.  They are responding to my emails within hours (or minutes) and have been very apologetic.  I cannot think of another company that has been so reliable and easy to deal with so my loyalty is still with Bitmain despite my disappointment at the S2's condition.

The S1's are like Sherman tanks - indestructible, well engineered, cheap, efficient and powerful.  I **wish** the S2 had all of the same characteristics, but still the S2 is the best in the 1 Th/s class of miners - so far.  And when bitmain introduces a more efficient S3? (yeah, hopefully 5 Th/s for 6 BTC lol) I will be there to order as many as I can get.

what a complete trainwreck. geezus. considering s1's will be worthless in 3 months tops. it's time for an alternative. how about a 5Th for 6.5 btc. mmmmm hmmmmm

ok, i ordered the Micro SD cards, going to pick up on way home...mine probably got corrupted when i rebooted..weird.
anyway, i need  a good image and if someone can tell me the proper way to install it on the micro SD card that would be great.

I dont know if it just a copy paste, which i doubt if its going to be bootable.

use this program: http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/

its very simple.
1) put card in computer (requires an SD reader)
2) use the above program to backup an image of whats on the card to your desktop (just in case)
3) use the program to format the card (fat32 should be the default)
4) use the program to write the new image to the card - should take under a minute if the image is only 14MB
5) eject the SD, put it in your unit, and boot up

^it looks like the firmware is a .tar   -> unless the win32diskimager can use .tar, you might need to use winrar to extract the actual file
^^ the firmware is a really odd file format, '.bin.SD'  rather than the typical .iso or .img     -  maybe somebody can actually make an image of thier own SD card in a more common format?
^^^maybe the firmware can just be copy-pasted to the SD - a bit of googling seems like it may be in a format that the linux beaglebone can open and run automatically...?
