Does anyone have any extra bitmain $100.00 off coupons they would donate me?

Haha - I would take that aswell Wink
Anyways could you guys give a little review of the Profibility of the Antminer s7 ?
That would be awesome to know which profits you guys generating with theese.

regards
profitability is 100% subject to power costs and the type of power supply you choose.  there is no way to suggest you will be profitable or not without knowing what yours is.

I just received my S7-F1 & it will not produce an ip address to configure my miner. It seems to be hashing on the default pool settings Bitmain configures, more profit for them while customers configure or try to configure their miners.

Following the instruction for the s7 pdf & downloading the Chinese version of ipreport the software always reports "has timed out start again" in Chinese, Gooble search translation.

I am sure the unit is mining because it goes full rpm on the fan & gives green LED on the controller board face. I do notice a red LED at rear closest to the ASIC boards, also red LED lights on the front of the ASIC boards. The unit produces heat, telling me it is mining somewhere.

There is a ‘Reset’ button on the right hand side of the Ethernet port, next to the green and red LED light. BTC Power on miner and let it run for 5 minutes BTC, then press and hold the reset button for 10seconds in order to restore to the default settings and reboot. The red LED will flash once every 15 seconds automatically if the reset is operated successfully.

what PSU are you using?
will a EVGA 1300w enough for this new S7-F1 ?

Probably not, usually, this miners are draining 1400w (perphaps more), so, it is not enough...  Roll Eyes

Now BITMAIN is offering an Fan Bracket with srews and the 6000rpm Fan for the SF-1  Cheesy
What about the warranty if you remove the backside srews....
*removed pic so not huge post it is above

I personally like that they have started offering parts via website. They have made it where you can order many parts without shipping old ones in. This means you can have a spare on hand depending on how many you have this is a nice idea really.

Could make it where you have 0 downtime almost if you have an extra part in some cases.   So I'm all for it personally on them selling parts to miners.

Sure, i like getting spare parts easily and that's a great service, BUT if i remove the screws on the backside of the new B16 SF-1, i will brake the warranty if i do so in 90 days, so that is not what i want from BITMAIN...
They could offer a singel fan version and also an option for them to deliver the S7 with two fans, like they did actually.

Sure but if in 90 day's you can email and get a anwser pretty quick getting permission and warranty remains in tact.  Shoot them a email and say my X part seems to be broken but I have a spare, can I replace it and see the results and keep warranty in tact?

Chances are a email as easy as that will keep your warranty in  tact if you did have a replacement part that needed changed in it.  So I don't see it as a huge thing, that will have a lot of downtime.

hmm o look a way for them to get more money from us. they realize most will need the rear fan why not sell a unit with 1 and then charge more to get a second.

specs are that you need 1250watts to run it. accounting for loss its likely over the specs of a evga 1300. taking the safety margin of never using more than 80% load for extended periods its for sure too much.

are you on a /16 network? just try 192.168.0.2 through 192.168.0.25 or so in your browser.. this wont work obviously if you have a slew of devices on your network but if you just have a few tablets and laptops you can find the antminer within 5min by allowing each query to port 80 to timeout in your web browser till you hit the open port.

the fan actually turns down from full speed once it begins hashing.. if you have no boards plugged in but the fan connected to the control board, the fan still runs full power.

you can confirm this theory by checking the heat coming from the case.. it should be cold air if its not yet hashing.

i do like however how the default pools are solo mining pools so if an errand customer configure is lucky it hits a block for bitmain Smiley

What router are you using? Normally these things a have a web gui where you can see the devices connected with their IP addresses. Are you using Windows or any other OS to configure your miner?

Thanks for the fast reply. I am using the ASUS RT-N12 D1 wireless router & it is set to use DHCP. I just hooked up an S1 to my network, it is mining on a pool & I am able to pull the ip address with advanced IP Scanner software showing me the ip address of the S1.

Cut cost here & there, I miss the sma input for wireless connectivity.

Oh my, why have the hashing deities forsaken me? ::*)

That's pretty easy.
Connect your PC and MINER via LAN to the router, login to your router and check the "Client Status". That should give you the IP of your miner and that's it -> http://www.dslregional.de/wp-content/uploads/asus-rt-n12-handbuch-bedienungsanleitung.pdf

That's pretty simple networking  Grin

I have hooked directly to the S7, the S7 will not generate an ip I can grab. I hook my old S1s up & poof they mine & are visible via the network I have.

Login to your router, attach the S7 via a lan cable to the routers LAN side, search for client status, make a screenshot and tell us what you see  Roll Eyes

On a separate note has anyone found where you can enable/disable the S7/S5+ Controller boards Data port? It would be nice to either upgrade firmware and enable more than 3 data ports...

have you tried just soldering on new male connectors and hooking up boards? if you leave one board unpowered the miner does not leave ------- if i'm not mistaken is just appears blank. so it may be safe to assume scaling the system up is just a matter of physically adding the parts themselves.

my 3 b1 S7 miners goes to silence yesterday, they can reachable but dont hashing, cgminer cant start hashing.
i tried nearly everything 1 solution is flash new firmware and go. but i am using 6hashboards Sad latest version is not handle 6 hashboards.
I suspect for date settings with ntpd . like a timebomb. change date settings to 2015 not works. Sad
any ideas ?
i am not linux guy i cant figured out. Sad
I had the same problem today and some days in the past also.

When you start or restart cgminer the cgminer.sh script (/etc/init.d/cgminer.sh) checks that the connectivity to 114.114.114.114 is up.
I guess it is a one of bitmain ip.
Today this IP (114.114.114.114) is down, so all of Bitmain gear (S3, S4, S5, and S7) will refuse to restart cgminer if you restart the miner or change your configuration.
If 114.114.114.114 is not up, the cgminer.sh script exits and does not start cgminer.
To fix the problem there are 3 possibilities:
1) Wait for 114.114.114.114 to get back up => Seems unacceptable to me.
2) Upgrade the firmware to a newer version

3)  Fix the script and restart cgminer.sh
To do that :

3.1)Connect to your miner by ssh
Replace 192.168.0.170 with the IP of your miner

Code:
3.2)Edit /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh and comment out 3 lines from line 35 to 37:

Code:
vi /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh

Code:
#if [ $network_ok -eq 0 ];then
#    return
#fi

If you don't know how to use vi :
http://www.tutorialspoint.com/unix/unix-vi-editor.htm

3.3) Then restart cgminer with :

Code:
/etc/init.d/cgminer.sh restart

Warning :
You will have to redo the same modification if you reboot !
To avoid that, do after fixing cgminer.sh:

Code:
cp /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh /config/cgminer_fix.sh

And then if you reboot you only need to do :

Code:
cp /config/cgminer_fix.sh /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh
/etc/init.d/cgminer.sh restart

OMG U ROCK!!! Worked like a charm!
(I actually just changed the 114.114.114.114 ip address to my routers address)
Again Thank you...

Received a B16 last friday. Hashing good and normal temps with 1 fan at 80%. Less noise than all my older S7s.

Can you at least make it to the login page or the initial password screen, then to this main page with blank data?

If so,  you have a few options

1st be to factory reset the S7 with a paperclip.  There is a pin hole next to the Ethernet connector and use a paperclip and press and hold the button for about 10 seconds and let it go and wait for about 30 seconds and then physically reboot the S7.  This may restore it to the factory default setting.

If this does not help, you may want to go find 8gb microSD card, and create a bootable MicroSD card and insert it into the microSD slot of the S7 and power it off and power it back on.  Let the S7 complete the boot process and if possible, let it run as is for about 5 minutes then your Beagle Bone Black may be restored to the factory default setting.

Image and Imaging Tool:
https://bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=007201604120945219855QObfk20066C

If none of these works, your Beagle Bone Black or the Control PCB may be damaged.

Antminer S7 B10 not connecting to the setup page. Nothing is configurable, miner is inaccesible.

http://imgur.com/yDMsOzb

Someone told me they fixed this in a new firmware update. Is this true? Im afraid to do a firmware update and that my miner will brick.

Ive tried resetting multiple times with no success, I can get to the login page but after 2-3 minutes I only get the blank page. I will try the bootable microSD option tomorrow and will report back. Thank you

Had the same issue when a hash board was bad. Try booting with one board and the Controller and go thru each card till you find the problem one.

2880rpm with the old S1/S3 fan is very quiet. Its what the Antminer S3 ran on average at my place when it was 25C ambient.
Also the S3 had dual fans and not just one fan.

The S3 used like less than 400 watts and the S7 uses like 1200 watts, how is it possible to move 3 times the wattage with the same type of fan?

Do you know how much wattage you are using from the wall ?

no measure from the wall here.. but yeah i was pleased with the results also.. on top of finally getting the unit running.

considering the BitMain 1382, 1384 and 1385 are all .28nm chips i would assume the efficiency comes from intelligently evolved layout, better components and heat sink design..

i just realized i had the S3 fan backwards too.. so its in pull configuration if that's of any interest to folks.
