A win. I actually did it for some time. I won a good amount too and I didn't gamble for like 2 weeks or maybe more. I just enjoyed the money and then came back as a refreshed man.
A loss means you want revenge which means you will also deposit over and over until you get back what you think is still yours.
More than weeks might be a month or two. Even though it wasn't very long or permanent, at least you did it. This is something that we still can be proud of as we know how hard it is for one to resist gambling, especially if you are attached with it already. I think the money that you won is also not that huge enough because if it is, then you will also add more time for vacation or possible retire in gambling.
Many of us gamble for the money and it doesn't make sense anymore to play if we already have lots of it. I like it when you say that you are now refreshed. I hope you can now think right and be consistent about it. That way, you will never pressure yourself about the game. This would be the dream of any gamblers if quitting it permanently is not yet possible.
By default, a loss can simply mean that we are unlucky or not skilful enough. It can be a sign of stopping for a while but many gamblers are giving it a different meaning. This is how they got screwed more and more. This builds a greedy habit, so even if we successfully recover our money, there is still no assurance of stopping.
maybe a zero balance could also make a gambler quit. When he doesn't have any means to get more money and all he can think about is quitting gambling because it's ruining his life, that's a possibility too.
It depends on the individual. For me this is true but have you noticed that there are lots of horror stories about gambling where the gambler is stuck in debts? This means they don't quit just yet but they do what they can including loaning, only to return in the game.
