then I told him that if I won like $100,000 from gambling, I did quit gambling forever, he laughed and screamed impossible, he said that the more money one makes from gambling, the more they get hooked, we argued about this until we both decided it was time to go home and rest.
I really agree with your friend, most people are always finding it so difficult to stop gambling whenever they win from gambling, but most of those people are the once’s that are gambling just for the sake of money alone, and no matter the amount we have, we are not always satisfied, we always want to win more, so even after winning some huge amount of money, I know some people will be able to stop and will never gamble again, but some people will keep on gambling and will even increase the amount they gambling with. So giving up after winning some amount of money is always difficult, only few are able to do it easily.

But then on betting home, I thought within myself if I can actually quit gambling for ever if I won a $100,000 like I said, and I concluded I can, if not for anything, atleast, for the fear of losing back all of that money to the casino.

So, here putting out the same question, what will make you quit gambling forever? A win or a loss, or both?

I hope you win that $100k, bro so you can decide in reality if you really can do that, but many of the big winners in casinos always come back to try to win more, and many of them lose half or even more than what they've won, I think its more on losing everything that will make you quit gambling, because you don't have anything to gamble and you don't want to experience the heartbreak of losing a lot again.

I can't stop myself from gambling until I recover the amount I lost in gambling bets. Although it was not possible, I would try to stop myself from gambling as a consolation for some recovery. Also I used to be a regular gambler before my child was born but now I try to give myself less time to gamble. Since my gambling addiction may affect my children, I have tried to stop myself from gambling for now to protect my children's future. Many behaviors of parents are learned by children and try to develop these behaviors in them. If I am a gambler then surely some of my habits will be inculcated in my child which will ruin my child's career. So it is important to give up all these bad habits to protect the future of the child.

Quit gambling forever because of win would be nice because it means that we are making profit, but if we can quit gambling because of loss is not bad as well.
It depends on the situation but if I have to choose one, without a doubt I prefer to quit gambling because of a win.
Simply because the only dream for all gamblers is "winning", so if gamblers can win then quit forever, it can be said as double win.
Rare situation of course, but I think most gamblers quit gambling forever because of loss since they have no more money to play.

What can make a strong reason to quit should come from the intention of yourself by looking at several factors such as financial conditions or other supporting factors such as family owned.

If we are experiencing a very bad financial condition then it is likely that it will be a very strong reason even though it is not uncommon when in this situation there will be more people who expect gambling to change their fate, but when the person thinks that the family and money used should be used as well as possible then it is likely that this will be a strong reason to stop gambling.

We are already in trouble so we should not trouble ourselves more by gambling because in the end gambling will only make yourself fall deeper but sometimes this situation also depends on the person who feels it in the end.

This might be an impossible thing to accomplish, it's easier said than done. Personally a good reason for me to quit gambling is due to the negative effects it has. It doesn't matter if you win as long as you are constantly involved in it you will definitely lose everything you have won including the funds in your bank account. This makes me wonder, what's really the point of gambling and winning in the first place if you would still lose everything?
Losing in gambling can affect your temperament and also your relationship with other people, it can also lead to depression which is totally not a good feeling. Quitting isn't easy but if you can get it done make sure you do it.

It’s hard to say that it’s going to be a permanent quitting because it’s a hobby of mine in terms of just having fun. I do gamble a couple of times a year, but not frequently. I don’t make it a habit as much as others, but I know I should follow my budget every time I gamble.

I just think saying permanent stuff like, Maybe in moderation, if you were gambling a lot. Then gambling forever would be impossible. Maybe in moderation if you were gambling a lot.

It also depends on why you are quitting. You should know your reasons.

Going through the comments of so many users here I can not say a word but laugh out hard because some people are actually saying some things they will never do even if they win up $1 billion in gambling. First of all, I think it is very difficult to quit gambling when one has lost a lot of money the reason is because losing in gambling will make the gambler to keep getting involved with the mindset of winning big in the nearest future.

Considering the idea of quitting gambling after one has won a huge amount, personally I see it as an impossible thing to do because a lot of bettors whom I have come across has had a couple of experience concerning the subject of discussion, they had an initial plan of not getting involved with gambling if they win big but they end up increasing their staking power wherever they win huge amounts of money.

The only thing that will make me to stop gambling is when any of my child notice that I'm a gambler aside that, I don't think winning big or losing money will stop me from gambling.

So, here putting out the same question, what will make you quit gambling forever? A win or a loss, or both?
I don't think winning any amount will stop me from gambling responsibly.  If I am lucky enough to win big, I wouldn't increase my gambling budget since it might make me gamble more. The money will be invested accordingly to enable me to increase my sources of income. The only reason I might consider quitting gambling is because of health issues. If I have a medical condition that requires me to avoid anxiety, I might consider quitting. There are reports that people with cardiovascular and respiratory problems shouldn't be high rollers.

Both both could actually opt me to quit gambling if I am hitted hugely but if I must be precised, then I would decide on loosing because it usually crafts threatening scares which affects my bankrolls negatively and the more I would keep chasing to recover is the more I am loosing more.

So the option is to quit and start my life over again in strive of keeping a better bankroll.
Winning would always impress one to continue gambling like every day is going to be Christmas.

There is no definite answer to this because it comes back to the individual, some stop gambling after winning some money, but there are also those who stop gambling after them, so it comes back to the individual about how they can control themselves and not want to gamble for any reason.
However, I see that many people who lose a lot / are addicted also have the same thoughts as you, that they say they will stop when they win 10 thousand dollars or more, but the reality in the field is not like that, often gamblers deny what they say and lose all their money. So maybe it's not as easy as what we say.

So, here putting out the same question, what will make you quit gambling forever? A win or a loss, or both?

First, from the little discussion you and your friend had, i will say that your friend has a point. Now, this is not about being addicted or not, but the truth is, there is a big chance that someone who hits such amount of $100K will definitely return back to gambling. Now here is my reason. If you actually got that amount and decide to leave gambling forever, I believe you will want to spend that money on something, or should I say investment the money on something. In the process of using that money for something, the amount will decrease, right?, And when the amount keeps decreasing, you will definitely start having the urge to try one more time. From that first trial, you will want to give another trial, and another trial, until you are fully back to it again. It's just an urge that can be triggered anytime especially for those that has once cashed out. I don't really see it as an addiction, because the urge can come even after a long time, depending on how the $100K was spent.

Well, as for me, I don't really know, but assuming I haven't cashed out before, then I will just have to cut myself off from anything that relates to it, like gambling videos, gambling discussions, or  any other thing. Besides, constant loss should be a motivation to me to stop it.

You may be able to get out of gambling after your win. but after you enjoy all the wins, there is a chance that you will gamble again in the hope of repeating your luck.

Actually, if the gambler is not excessively addicted, they can get out of gambling with a win or a loss. get out with a win as you said. and get out when you lose because the mind does not want to lose more. although sometimes gamblers will still have a feeling of curiosity about their luck that never comes.

good question, something to think about. If I had hit a very large jackpot once, I would most likely have stopped playing forever, as I would have perceived it as the final prize that I needed to take and leave and never tempt fate again. The second point is that I would definitely not rush to spend them, but would have planned for a very long time what to invest them in or put them aside until better times.
There have been so many examples when players lost their heads after a jackpot and spent everything in a minimum period of time. This motivates not to rush in the case of a good profit that came as unexpectedly as possible.

I think, having a reason for boredom may seem like it could also be a reason to stop gambling but indeed, maybe because of boredom losing or because of boredom making deposits too often compared to withdrawals. With these factors, maybe it will make players also be able to stop but indeed, stopping gambling I think will not be able to stop forever, because on other occasions of course there will always be a chance for players to return to betting.

But one thing I remember about my experience about my friend had when we worked in the same company, and at that time my friend and I always bet together. But in reality, there was something that really made my friend stop gambling and even, when I invited him to gamble, but my friend remained on his stance to stop. The reason why is because of his wife, I really appreciate his decision, it's good for his life because my friend has managed to completely stop gambling because his love for his wife is so great.

Am certain people would never gamble again if they moved from broke to riches because this is one way to keep that money 💰.

Another reason someone would quit gambling is if they were rich at one point and started grinding back and made it..I would quit too..

Another reason would be love related, people would say that you it's either you keep gambling or save your relationship and if you wise save your love relationship.

If gambling addiction from a medical point of view is practically no different from alcohol or drug addiction (except that neurotransmitters are produced directly in the body), then there are no former gamblers. That is, for a gambler, some end point or goal in the form of winning a certain amount is not important. For a gambler, like for a samurai, the path is important. Smiley The path from a series of wins that allow neurotransmitters to be produced in his body, which allows him to enjoy himself.

I am not sure that winning can motivate a gambler to quit gambling. Most likely, it will spur on further games for the sake of big wins.

If you take the stories of gamblers who quit gambling, most of these stories will be sad. That is, only a very strong fall "down" forced gamblers to reconsider their lives and try to change them. Losses will prevail here.

Well, personally, I was influenced by losing. Even if it was a small amount, the fact that spin after spin the casino was sucking every last cent out of me (giving me 1 and taking 2 right away) had a serious impact on me. That is why I am of the opinion that only a negative experience can motivate a gambler to stop gambling.

If your finances are in dire straits and you can't handle Nick losing, you should quit gambling forever. Because some people can control themselves during their bad times, but others can't. So those who can control the urge are fit for gambling. And if you overthink and can't accept losing, stop gambling. On the other hand if you are poor then avoid gambling because gambling is a game of money so whoever has money here will gamble. Although luck can open anytime but it is uncertain so poor people should only discuss lottery.
What you say is true, difficulties or a lot of loss of money or property make them stop playing this game forever. In my opinion, it's not just the poor who should avoid gambling, I think all groups should avoid it. As we all know, the site owner knows very well how to read the psychology of the people playing at the gambling table, of course they give incentives first, such as giving the person a win that seems like they got from their playing skills, after that the site owner plays his role. to drain money from them. I have never heard of anyone getting rich from gambling.

I can't quit from gambling, but however, I can possibly take a break from gambling if I'm lucky enough to win a whooping $100,000, because that's actually a huge sum of money for one to start up a good business able to generate consistent streams of income. Because though no amount of money is ever enough, if I had such huge sum of money, the best thing to do will go to learn more high demand tech skills, such as Artificial intelligence (A.I), robotics or advanced forex trading, which will increase my earning capabilities, while I strive to go back my way of responsible gambling.

Henceforth, just like I said, I can never quit from gambling, but however I can only take a break after winning a jackpot.

If I were lucky enough to win a large sum one day, I would start my own business. Having it, I would certainly not have the desire to gamble, but on the contrary, to start a business that brings passive income. But this is one condition that is unlikely to come true, since I, knowing how people suffer from addiction, do not allow myself to spend my money so often that I could hope to win a large sum. Therefore, I would rather stop playing if I find something more exciting than gambling, since for me, it is just entertainment, nothing more, not going beyond the limits of loss of control.
