If your finances are in dire straits and you can't handle Nick losing, you should quit gambling forever. Because some people can control themselves during their bad times, but others can't. So those who can control the urge are fit for gambling. And if you overthink and can't accept losing, stop gambling. On the other hand if you are poor then avoid gambling because gambling is a game of money so whoever has money here will gamble. Although luck can open anytime but it is uncertain so poor people should only discuss lottery.

But then on betting home, I thought within myself if I can actually quit gambling for ever if I won a $100,000 like I said, and I concluded I can, if not for anything, atleast, for the fear of losing back all of that money to the casino.

So, here putting out the same question, what will make you quit gambling forever? A win or a loss, or both?

I don't think winning a huge amount of money will make you quit forever, on the contrary, you will want to go back and try your luck again because you think that you can duplicate your luck, What will make you hate gambling and promise not to go back again is losing everything you had because you experienced the pain and the hardship that go along with losing everything.
That's what I saw in people who lose everything from gambling, they even curse gambling because of the misery they experienced, so losing and not winning is what will make you leave gambling, but not forever because the urge to gamble will always be there.

I would do the same thing to see if I can double that $100k again and if I lost it all then no quitting will happen. But then anyone can promise to quit with some reasons they can come up with. I can only think those men who think off quitting really has other plans in life.

Off it could just be as simple as quitting because they don't want to submit KYC to casinos. But ultimately when one doesn't have any money to bet, its really time to quit.

Maybe winning big amount of money, but everyone is different, and so it's really hard to stop gambling unless there is something big that go into your life that you decided to just quit for good.

As for the amount, yeah, as long as you win a money that you are going to be very comfortable for the rest of your life. Or least it can sustain you and your family and then you think of investing it so that you can built generational wealth. I think that will be the perfect picture to really stop and just focus on your investment and business to grow your money even without gambling.

I just think that when a gambler is addicted and wins $100,000 because of his gambling, he will probably become even more addicted because he will think that he can bankrupt a casino because he has already experienced something like that. time-winning amount.

This is just my opinion. His perspective will be different when that happens, but if the winner of that amount is not an addict and is lucky enough to win that amount, it is possible to quit gambling immediately.

So, here putting out the same question, what will make you quit gambling forever? A win or a loss, or both?
Definitely a loss. I lost a big sum of money gambling once and from that moment on I decided to not gamble anymore. I concluded to have more important goals in my life I should focus right now, so I can't give myself the luxury of gambling away money I should be using for essential expenses, besides investments which are also very important for everyone who wishes to achieve extra life quality on long run.

On the other hand, if I kept winning from gambling, I wouldn't have a reason to stop completely, even because winnings work as reinforcements to get excited about gambling, consequently leading to further gambling sessions.

The ideal would be to have enough money to live a comfortable live and to gamble, without having to choose one or another. But life is not ideal, so you have to sacrifice some pleasures in the present time aiming future gains.

Only you that will know if you can quits gambling forever or not. Winning a big money from gambling can be very tempting and makes someone come back to the casino because he will want to win more money. It needs a strong controls to prevents to come back to the casino but if you really sure that you can do that, you can try it.

I will quit gambling forever when I can win a big money. I am sure that money will be enough for me to have a better life. I can use that money for many things to changes my life.

It's wrong to think that winning enough money can stop you from gambling forever. Some players, having won so much money still go on to play as high rollers, in search for bigger amounts. Op's friend is right, when the bigger money is in our possessions the more we'd crave for gambling.

Stopping gambling can't be attributed to winnings, because there is no way a player with thousands of dollars won't try his luck again. Initially before the wins we'd assume it's possible to stop, subsequently our perspective changes once the money is won.

So, here putting out the same question, what will make you quit gambling forever? A win or a loss, or both?
I am not sure i can ever quit gambling because i don't gamble with the intention of becoming so wealthy through gambling neither do i gamble as an alternatives for easy money making, what matters is that i keep up for free flow like gambling to ease time, and for the fun. Note; if winning comes then it's a plus to me and of course i do places bet on games that i felt can give me possible winning and even though those games doesn't go the way i planned then there would be no emotions or hard feelings attached were it would leads me to start chasing lose after the games goes against me. The only solution to this is when you are gambling with a very minor amount that you can spare without attaching the feeling of losing them.

For gambling addicts, there is no good reason to stop gambling unless they are convinced that they have completely ruined their lives to the point that it is impossible to restore them. Therefore, I will answer the question on the subject from a purely personal point of view.
You mean an addicted person will not accept he is addicted to gambling unless he is convinced to truly see what is actually happening? That is true.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. That's why behavioral addiction is considered much more dangerous than drug addiction because the victim is not aware of his condition in what is similar to a state of mental anesthesia. Behavioral addiction, such as gambling addiction, does not leave clear effects on the victim's body and psyche as drugs or alcohol do, so it is difficult even for those close to him to notice his illness or discover it late after his life has been destroyed. Even the specialized medical treatment of these cases finds it difficult at first to convince the person that he is an addict and that his gambling has become a symptom of a disease, then the greater difficulty is in ensuring that the person has fully recovered because there is nothing that can confirm or deny. I personally do not know any gambling addict who has recovered from his addiction, and even if he stays away from gambling for certain periods, it is circumstantial and he quickly returns to playing. Unfortunately, this is the reality without coloring.

A win. I actually did it for some time. I won a good amount too and I didn't gamble for like 2 weeks or maybe more. I just enjoyed the money and then came back as a refreshed man.
A loss means you want revenge which means you will also deposit over and over until you get back what you think is still yours. But maybe a zero balance could also make a gambler quit. When he doesn't have any means to get more money and all he can think about is quitting gambling because it's ruining his life, that's a possibility too.
So I guess it will just depend on how strong a person is mentally. Any option is possible but it's on us with how we will endure not to gamble again.

So, here putting out the same question, what will make you quit gambling forever? A win or a loss, or both?
Both.
And that means both heavy wins and losses. So, if I'd make millions through gambling, I'd quit indefinitely. Without having much to say, that's what I'll do and the same goes if I lose a lot of money, that will also put me into quitting. But right now, I can say that I'm okay with my bets and I am in control so there's no worry for me whether I'd bet a lot or a bit because I know for myself that I am doing it in neutrality. Not that much and not going to give me a lot of impact if ever I lose. And as it is fun to gamble, maybe placing some few bets and money won't make us quit then when it's very enjoyable and entertaining.

I am not going to give up gambling forever in the future.

In general, I try to avoid tough and categorical decisions.

For example, I quit smoking a long time ago. However, I am not ready to swear that I will never pick up a cigarette. Perhaps someday I will want to smoke and I will. For example, in Istanbul I once smoked an apple hookah and it was very pleasant and organic.

The same situation with alcohol - I practically do not drink alcoholic beverages, but if I want to drink wine or beer, I will drink alcohol (such desires arise rarely).

Gambling is a part of life - why give it up?
I am not a very gambling person, I am immune to gambling addiction. Therefore, I am not going to give up gambling (sometimes it is nice to feel like James Bond in Casino Royale).

If I win $100000, I can not quit gambling. I will not use 5% of the weekly income from the $100000 to gamble. I will not gamble that week. I will start a business from the money. My earning will increase. This will make me permanently not go for 5% weekly income on gambling anymore but I will be using less than 1% instead. I will use my less than 1% that I earn weekly to gamble and the money will not be from the $100000 but from the profit it yields.
$100k easy huge amount on my country if I win such amount then obviously I will also do a business. but I cannot guarantee that I will quit a gambling forever because then the greed Will work on my mind too much. Because after winning such a huge amount, everyone will think that he can win more. That's normal and that attitude will never let you quit gambling. I'm sure it will happen to me. But even if I can't give up gambling at that time, I will try very hard to control myself to take a break from gambling and use it for gambling with a very small amount later.

Maybe there comes a time when you run out of time or money, or maybe health starts becoming an issue. But for now, that’s not the case. If we're being smart about it, I don't see any reason to stop. After all, we’re only doing this to unwind and shake off some of life’s stress and exhaustion. It's not like I do it every day or that I'm addicted to gambling, so I don’t think it’s time to completely walk away from it just yet, even though I lose many times.

All I’m saying is that we deserve to have fun and play. Gambling only becomes a problem when it’s overdone—when you start losing control. That’s when it's time to step in and do something about it.

If you hold the luck and you control it while playing gambling in any casino, whether online or in a physical casino, it can be said that it is easy to make money in the casino. That's why if there are casino players who control their luck it means there is a chance that they can win at gambling.

So I'm sorry, op. I don't agree with what you said that it's easy to make money playing gambling, but I believe that most of them are losers in gambling; that's true. Now, if I win $100,000 because of gambling, maybe I will still gamble like I used to without becoming addicted to gambling.

I have seen more gamblers get attached the more when facing lose compared to win, concerning your thought there’s no way you’ll not gamble despite winning that amount. Anyone can avoid gambling at the moment because we feel going back can drain the money within few hours but quitting gambling forever after winning is so rare. Gambling is not too deep as people think but definitely we can always place a bet once in a while so long as we don’t give everything, the reason I only advice people to quit is when they face lose without a proper care for themself and family but when a person is stable and gamble right what’s the point quitting.

I am not active gamblers so i never gamble using huge amount of money so it is impossible for me can win with hundred or even million dollar from gambling and actually i personally doubt can quit from gambling forever because i did gambling for years even before online casinos exist just like now i did traditional gambling just like playing card against my friends so gambling indirectly as part of my life but i was dreaming win with large amount of money at least once from my life time and i never set the particular amount of money but probably million of dollar and if the amount of money can guarantee my daily needs for the next few decades then maybe i will decide to retire early from my current job and not to gambling again

I won't quit gambling if I win $100k because I have a strategy for gambling responsibly, if I'm disciplined enough to continue with it, then I'll be fine. My strategy is to gamble with a certain percentage from my income, an amount that I can afford to loose. It doesn't matter if whether I'm winning or losing, I never gamble more than my budgeted amount, so winning big won't affect my gambling habit. I know that it might sound easier said than done, that is why high discipline is required when it comes to gambling. I've never given it a serious thought about a reason to quit gambling, I guess it's because I don't consider myself a serious gambler to be contemplating when to quit. I can decide to quit any day that gambling begins to bore me.

I know much about myself and I have enough self-awareness to know that I don't think that I would be able to quit even if I won that much amount of money, I might take some time off gambling to focus on spending that much money but I am definitely not going to quit anytime soon just because I have won a lot of money, I would definitely push my luck even more because I got a taste of big win, quitting gambling forever is an easy task yet difficult to do and I don't think I'm going to be quitting anytime soon.
