It is a horrible time to be in altcoins. I invested in them during the boon and most them are now dead and few which survived are about 90 percent down from the ico price. I am praying that they survive the next 5 year period and reward me .

I think due to last year trend people don't trust ico any longer. Imagine after investing in a project and the team a a huge some of money but it becomes very hard for them to release dat money and list the token in a good exchange. At times it can even take dem over 6 months before they even manage to enter one fake exchange. Really annoying.

ICO is still legit in several projects. But seeing as a whole that ICO is not the right investment anymore. Because of the many frauds, failures, even successful even though investors still suffer losses. Things like that make ICO not trusted anymore.
that's right, indeed there aren't many ICOs that look legit right now because investors still don't fully trust ICOs.

the reason may be because now ICO is very difficult to bring profits in the pockets of investors. successful or not ICO project, they still cannot breathe easily because as you said even though ICO is successful investors still suffer losses. that is why now more investors are looking at IEO.

yes it is risky to invest in ICO, but I believe there are still legit ICO that people believe how potential their project is, so we can not stop them to invest in ICO. Let them invest because they believe the project.

- A few projects really still have some credibility but in an era where ICOs have become a land of rubbish and little valuable products, ICOs are like you said, not many people care and invest, and a field that needs a lot of investors but people have left, the odds of us having success are too low, IEO is being more popular than ICO right now. Unless the ICO makes certain improvements and is more perfect in principles, if not, the chances of it returning to the community are zero, competition has been too much here, no progress will be eliminated

I believe ICOs are still very much legit but only some of them survive because most of them turned out to be scam. IEOs are better version of ICOs because they are holding their campaign on an exchange site which turn out to be listing the coins where IEOs are hosted.
Surviving and trying to figure things out on how to continue working around the market even new ways of investment are being introduced, many developers are switching over from ICO's to IEO's knowing that investors interest can be much easier to catch when you go with the flow, back with ICO's, there's still projects to be found if you are Keen and keep positive to work harder to get into teams that have legit works.

That will be too difficult to select the right ICO because we have seen so many ICO that end with the scam the people. People will need to think twice to invest or to participate in the ICO. I know that they are moving into IEO, which some people says that it is potential to make a profit. But I don't know the truth because I don't invest in any ICO or IEO now. I am too afraid to get another loss because I already got the losses from trading so I will prevent myself from getting the losses again.

Yes, it is true that not many people still believe in ICO, but in my opinion there are still some opportunities because ICO will instead try to prove its quality again. The current trend is IEO because it's safer and better for developing our altcoin, but we don't know how long that will happen and surely we have to use this short amount of time as possible.

We heard the news of IEO to be in place of ICO in order to curb the high rate of failure and scams in the development of altcoins projects in this year 2019. My surprise is that I still see series of projects claiming to be in ICOs. Doesn't that make them scam as we have seen in the same scenarios in the past?

If it is, I wonder why people still invest whether their time or monies in such projects which have high risk of loss or being scammed.
I no longer trust ICOs since 2018. There are so many ICO scams and we won't be able to find a true ICO. At this stage we should only care for IEOs at large exchanges

I have only heard of 1 project that did ICO this year, the rest all switched to IEO because they have seen the clear results that ICOs aren't worth it. But that doesn't mean that any project doing ICO is scam, some might want to try something new thus the reason they are sticking to ICO, its only left for us to check if the project is worth it or not thereby deciding to invest or not. However, IEO is still being fair and will be hard for investors to go for ICO when they know what to gain from IEO.

I think even legal ICOs can not always provide profit to investors, because in order to become a successful project, many factors must be observed that cannot always be foreseen. Many ICOs that are legal over the past year have not been able to implement their plans and now their coins cost -80% of the price during the ICO.

even though many ico failed, we cannot generalize as a whole the ICO will end up scam or the project ends suddenly. I remain confident that there will always be an ICO to raise funds to run a creative project. my answer is still legit, but honestly it will be difficult to find projects that are really serious about starting their creative business from the fundraising results.

Many big investors are accustomed to investing in ICOs, and even in such a difficult time when the cryptocurrency market only falls and there are a lot of scam projects, these big investors still get huge profits by investing in ICO projects, but they don’t invest in all sorts of passerby projects, they carefully study each project in which they are going to invest and check these projects very efficiently and meet with the creators of these projects and therefore they minimize risks to a minimum.

That is the first question i ask to myself when i want to investing my money.
I think there are some of them are legit, but to find the legit project, you need more time to study the project.
If we can't know they are legit or not, better to keep our money to investing on the future ICO/IEO.

Some new projects attract many investors because of the potential of their projects in the future. Many projects offer big bonuses for early investors and I think this is an incentive from the developer team. There may be many new projects that end up scamming or detrimental to investors when listing but I don't think all new projects are like that because the cryptocurrency market is still in the developing stage.

So far, it has been known that many ICOs are often failed, scams, or even be dead after the ICO is ended/ Only few ICO projects that are exactly a success, and only some that will survive in the market.

The presence of IEO may help to be one of the problem-solving. However, it is not easy. For many of them also only use the small exchange. Whereas an IEO must be also trusted, if the exchange is good enough or popular at least, it will be okay enough.

I think ICO still legit but it's more difficult to choose good ICO. Many people still believe in ICO project but depends on project or the team behind project, their have own reason to invest in ICO project.
Yeah, most of the ICO now can’t be trusted because of their team is not good and the project is not good as well. I stopped investing on ICO because I also become a victim of those scam projects, now I’m still waiting for new projects that deserve my money, let’s see that if ICO can come back to a good form again.

I can't say if they are scam or not because they know what they want. I have seen a project which did ICO this year and it finished as fast as possible as if it was IEO, and the team proceeded to list on a good exchange thereafter. So we can't tag them scam until we study them to know what actually made them stick to ICO rather than IEO. I think one of the big issue with ICOs is listing, where a project can have a good ICO success and listing will be an issue, but in the case of IEO, you know exactly what to expect.

There is nothing like legit ICO because there is no regulation talking about them and there is no legal backing from the government. This is more reason a lot of people are opting from IEO because it seems to be safer since exchanges are fully involved. They have put their reputation on the line.
