AM used to hold 35-40/45 % of the network.

Er... no. There are only a few days where AM went above 30% and it has NEVER held 40% or 45%.

The all-time average is 20%.

That only helps prove my point so sure.

Amazing cognitive dissonance right here.

any number other than 20 percent is complete Fud. where is the 200 tera hash? it is not possible for one company to keep up with 10,000 people deploying hardware. and since AM pissed everyone off with high prices I'm not sure how long the hardware is going to be a valued in the market. good luck with your stock price or sell it before it crashes see you're not the a****** left holding the bag

erious.
........

However, I'm pretty sure friedcat is well prepared for the coming battle Smiley

with the recent hashrate performances I wouldn't be so sure. AM used to hold 35-40/45 % of the network. Now you seem the fight for 20s.

If he has the power to battle he should be doing that now not later. I'm not quite as convinced.

Update: 1st batch shipped

What does this have to do with ASICMINER and why does it need to be spammed into every thread?

Speculation means including what the competitors are doing although we are AM investors some people in this thread appreciate knowing what the other producers are doing as it always has potential impact on company valuations to an extent.

For example if BFL shipped all its units in one day
Hahaha sorry can't write that with a straight face just fantasize that.
Either way if any AM rival has real news that does not seem like fluff it's worth noting in the speculation thread  Smiley

It means hashrate and difficulty is going up and AM is going to have to keep up.

Investors should consider that as difficulty goes up, the costs to enter the mining game also goes up, which means less will be entering and thus making buying shares and passthru shares of ASICM more appealing and this very fact compounds upon itself.

we can all tell the network rate from looking here:

http://www.asicminercharts.com/live/

We don't need shipping updates from rivals. Perhaps someone is looking to get the price lower?

What's the point in knowing current rate?  What's really interesting is how much will it become in a month or two.

The shipping of Avalon chips won't cause immediate jump in difficulty, because those chips still need to be soldered into boards, distributed and deployed.  It will take a few more weeks before they really hit the network, but when they do...  Well, it's gonna be heavy!  There are hundreds of TH worth of Avalon chips coming, and they alone will multiply the network hash rate several times in just a few weeks!  And don't forget that Bitfury's chips are also on the way, and their impact will probably follow Avalons, multiplying the network hashrate even further.

If you think the network will reach 1 Petahash before the end of the year, then you're too naive.  The Petahash is quite likely to come even before October!  And by the end of 2013 it will likely go far beyond 2 PH, maybe even approach 3 PH.

What does it mean to Asicminer?  Well, it means EVERYTHING!  The more network hashrate, the more we have to deploy to keep our share of the network and the cheaper we have to sell the devices.  It's going to get serious.

However, I'm pretty sure friedcat is well prepared for the coming battle Smiley

Only 4 days to go (07.26) and we can finally see the financial reports.

OFFICIAL UPDATE

I have some news for everyone after a brief e-mail exchange with Friedcat. He has answered the 3 questions I submitted from our recent poll below:

-- When can we expect the first financial report?
Friedcat: We are asking board members if July 23 is acceptable.

Please note that this has not been 100% confirmed, to my knowledge. I joined the board after this info was given, so I'm not clear on whether it is still the target date.

Update: 1st batch shipped

I got a a status update from Avalon - the first batch of chips has been shipped, including DHL tracking number. It should get delivered this week.

Important reminder: If you have chips ordered from the first batch and did not yet enter your shipping address and locked it - do it soon! Orders without finalized shipping data will be postponed.
