i'm always here,
just can't understand, why you guys have so much time to fight on forums??
Don't you have some important work in your life?
Or fighting on forums is your work...? Wink

Anyway, sussex, i would like to ask you speak politely in our thread.
Respect your opponents, even if you think they stupid.

can i suggest an open vote donation based ?

address 1: bbr
address 2-3-4etc: rune and other bs

1bbr to enter the vote; bbr goes to dev.

i like this idea!
Than we solve two problems: fund rising and voting Wink

Where you been zoidberg?  Grin

I like this idea also, how would the names for the poll be chosen?

I also think the result should be set in stone for some period of time, perhaps two or three years, we don't need this kind of distraction on a regular basis.

you shouldn't get your coins back just because your preference wasn't the top vote-getter.

This^^

We should max out the opportunity to increase zoidberg's fund.

Maybe make each name candidate for voting cost 10 or 20 or 100 BBR (or some amount) non-refundable. If this is the route we're going to go, I personally think all votes should be non-refundable as well; you shouldn't get your coins back just because your preference wasn't the top vote-getter.

Edit: What pinky said.

Don't forget this:

I would add to your solution 100-1000 BBR introduction fee per every name going to be listed (fee for BBR not aplicable as this is current name) in order not to get spammed and seriousness of proponents.

you can always keep calling it Boolberry to yourself. as others have said the tech is what matters to most people here, so then why this controversy over the name?

(and keep BBR)

Hi everybody

Good to see debate in action.....How ever I don't care about the name just the tech....If the guys who make the tech, want a name change then so be it. I can't do what they can, so I best be letting them get on with it.

To the guys doing the work Thank You. To everybody else who is voicing there opinion please be polite and remember that the written word has no tone, and is easily misinterpreted. Be kind to each other

How does windjc feel supported if the vote is rigged and he has seen the 60% result on the other poll? How could he not know that the result was false?

On the other hand, if he had majority support by continuing with boolberry why would he feel unsupported?

Your argument is senseless.

The way forward is a fair vote, I would abide by any result, I would have no choice.

I find it hard to believe that a seasoned marketing guy would come up with any of the offerings in the official poll, but especially Rune. It is so generic, so cliched, so baggage-laden and so vapid as to be beyond appalling. I don't like it.

Anyway, that sums it up, sort of, perhaps we should leave each other (and this thread) in peace and let the grown ups talk  Wink

Who is willing to spend at least 10 hours per week marketing BBR? Preferably 20+ hours per week.

yes it is a big change, so for such a thing we should defer to a poll result?

Should we defer to a 60% majority who are against the change?

One man or 60% of the community - which matters?
If this 60% majority will volunteer to spend time actively marketing BBR, then let us listen to this majority. However if it is just 60% of the people who are armchair marketing, then I would rather listen to the 1 guy who is volunteering to put in the hours.

I am speaking as probably the largest holder of BBR

Then lets vote by donation, your a rich man, you could top any bid we could muster. Is there a problem with that?

I'm not sure being a large investor entitles you to attempt to censor other investors though, what do you think?

who are you?

I'm sussex, I'm the one you think has a problem.

I dont want to censor anybody.

I just want to make sure there is someone that is actively marketing BBR. windjc hasnt said that he wouldnt market it without a name change, but if the community is rejecting his name change plan then it would be natural for him to not really feel supported by the community and not want to be spending time on marketing BBR. Human nature I do understand.

So, what investors out there want to snub windjc and then find somebody else to volunteer to market BBR? Since there dont seem to be any other volunteers, the choice is to support windjc or make some donations to hire a marketer.

This is a pragmatic thing I am talking about. volunteer marketers are not exactly growing on trees.

Edited above:

EDIT: that said, I think James's point about my presence being potentially inflammatory is valid, so I will step out until things cool down a bit. Anyone who wants my opinion on something can PM and ask me.
