I just hope you are holding the right coin to hold for long term investment because even how many years you hold a shitcoin , it will never increase its value compared with a know altcoins that has a developer that is very hardworking and dedicated with his work.

I prefer buying the dips and selling them off in a week or in a month at max. I like making more moves than just holding and waiting and doing nothing.. I agree that most of us prefer to get the profit ASAP, but in most cases coins reach their highest point when they achieve their goals. And it can take from several month to a year. So if you truly believe in a project, it can be reasonable to hold at least some part of their coins for a long term. So the best strategy for me is to sell at least half of tokens at x2-x3 price and hold the rest for few months.
Being patient and constantly monitoring progress is the key to success and it would be better if the novice learns and knows what it is all about crypto ans how it works will help calm their panic.

most people do act like that, they always want to quickly get a profit as well as I am but I realize to get our profit sometimes takes a little longer so I think what we should do is be patient because I am very confident all the coins the longer the price will be more expensive along with the development of the project I see a lot of members waiting for like 7 days and they didn't getting any profit..
