Is there a way to set how many cores to use for mining? Only settings for miners that I see are for GPU

Hi!

The error related to the number of CUDA devices appears when the miner is unable to communicate with your NVidia adapters. Please update the NVidia drivers - we had the same error on one of our testing rigs.

Hi Avarice1of2,

Since the Monero hard fork we were unable to find a good, stable NVidia miner for this coin. More than this, many users complained that the increased difficulty makes Monero mining lass profitable... This is why we suggested all our users to switch to a more profitable coin, like BTG.

Kind regards,

BetterHash Releases Crypto Mining Software That Can Be Used On Any Computer Opening Up Potential For Everyone To Profit On Mining https://bitcoingarden.org/betterhash-releases-cutting-edge-crypto-mining-software-that-can-be-used-on-any-computer-opening-up...

BetterHash shook up the Cryptocurrency industry this week with a major update to the ground breaking crypto-mining software that is on track to blow the lid off of the mining industry. In a niche industry such as Cryptocurrency and even further into the micro-niche of Cryptocurrency Mining lies tons of misconceptions and even mistruths put out by industry leaders. Crypto mining has become very profitable and some at the top don’t want to see it get watered down by more and more participants. The plain truth is that anyone can mine Crypto transactions. Until now, it did take ample hardware and a slight genius to become profitable.

However, with the introduction of the BetterHash mining software, anyone can use their existing computer to start profiting immediately. BetterHash was founded with a concise goal in mind, to develop crypto mining software that could be used on any device by anyone. The simplicity of BetterHash makes it great for beginners and its options for advanced settings also make it ideal for seasoned professionals. It is very easy to setup for beginners, but at the same time it allows the advanced users to set additional parameters for a more personalized experience. Zero fees are nice too....

Hi,

Good luck! Yes, there will be further updates, we are working daily on improving BetterHash.

Best regards,
BetterHash Team

Hi,

We have added an Advanced tab in the Settings section in BetterHash. You can now customize your miners and add certain parameters to tweak the fan speed, temperature and other miner-specific options. The update is available for manual download on our website.

BetterHash Team

Hi,

We have released version 2.81. We added Bitcoin Gold as an option, as it is ASIC resistant and profitable for GPU mining. There are two miners, one for NVdia and one for AMD. We've added a driver tweak for the AMD GPUs for increased profitability. Also, from now, in the Activity tab you will be seeing the active miners first, followed by the miners that aren't running. We've added a Skip option to the benchmarking process. You can now skip certain miners and be more time efficient.

We recommend you to perform a new benchmark as BTG might be more profitable then ZEC.

Version 2.81 is an automatic update.

BetterHash Team

@LaTene

We are using CoinFoundry for the DASH Asic miners. Smiley

IMPORTANT!

The current BTG share price that is displayed in the Online Dashboard has not yet stabilized. We are working on it, and we estimate that tomorrow we will have the correct value. All your mining has been accounted for and your earnings will be recalculated using the correct share price.

Hi,

It's easier to manage them if they're under one account. You have them all in one place and you can reach the minimum withdrawal limit faster. Plus, if you activate automatic withdrawal, your altcoins will be automatically converted to BTC and sent to your external wallet as soon as they reach the limit you set.

We are keeping an eye on how this evolves. Cool As BetterHash becomes more and more popular the most important challenge that we are facing is making sure there is no downtime at all. The second priority is looking for new coins to add. In case ZCash is "attacked" by ASICs we are prepared to switch to e new coin pretty fast.

Kindest regards,

Daniel

P.S. Suggestions are always welcome!

We are in the works of adding some changes in the way we list the miners, as well as adding a new one for ETC (Ethereum Classic). Stay tuned for the update!

The BetterHash Team

Hi,

As announced, we have added ETC as an option for mining. The new version can already be downloaded from our website, and will also be automatically sent to your computers in the course of the following days. You will also notice a better reorganization of the Miners Setup page.

Happy mining,
BetterHash Team

Hi,

We are planning to add ASIC support. Anyone here with an Antminer E3 or Antminer Z9 willing to help us test ASIC integration? Please get in contact if so.

Thank you,
Daniel

Hi,

We have just released version 2.72 that includes DASH mining with Bitmain Antminer D3. The update is available for download on https://www.betterhash.net/bh/download/index.php and will be automatically sent to everyone on Monday. Until then, you can manually download it from our website.

Have a great weekend!
BetterHash Team

Hi,

We released today version 2.74 that includes ZEC mining with Bitmain Antminer Z9 Mini. The update is available for download on https://www.betterhash.net/bh/download/index.php and will be automatically sent to everyone in a few days. Until then, you can manually download it from our website.

TESTING HELP NEEDED: Anyone here with a Antminer Z9 Mini willing to test if our ASIC Registration Wizard works ok? We easily tested on a D3 that we already have but the integration of the Z9 was done through remote testing only. Thanks a lot!

There will be no fork, the dev is against it whatever the fundation wants. There has been a heated debate in the Zcash forum.

Some members already have their Z9 running.

Thank you for writing.

As far as we know things are moving in the right direction regarding making the ZCash mining algorithm (Equihash) ASIC-resistant again:

https://z.cash.foundation/blog/statement-on-asics/
https://blog.z.cash/zcash-company-statement-on-asics/

Regarding the release of the ZCash ASIC miners: Bitmain has announced they shipped 77 units on the 29th of May:

https://twitter.com/BITMAINtech/status/1001376036985028608
https://blog.bitmain.com/en/antiminer-z9-mini-shipments-experiment-radical-transparency/

As of today they are probably on route and many of them are probably not mining yet.

Total ZCash network hash rate is currently ~ 520,000 kH/s according to https://www.coinwarz.com/network-hashrate-charts/zcash-network-hashrate-chart

The 77 devices shipped by Bitmain will add 77 x 10.0 kH/s = 770 kH/s

That will increase the current network hash rate by 0.15%, which means they will have an insignificant impact on difficulty and profitability of ZCash GPU mining.

Of course, many people say that Bitmain also has thousands of ASIC machines already mining for them in secret. I don't know about this - it seems more like a conspiracy theory.

In case ZCash mining profitability drops, we at BetterHash plan to mine other coins Smiley

ZEC is now under ASICs control
https://shop.bitmain.com/product/detail?pid=00020180503154806494uGcSyiu806FD
Hashing algorithm: Equihash
Power consumption: 300W
Hashrate: 10k Sol/s ± 5%

https://www.anythingcrypto.com/guides/antminer-z9-mini-profitability-2018
Comparing this against existing GPUs, the Z9 Mini seems to offer around 13.3x more hashpower per unit than a GTX 1080 Ti, but is more expensive upfront. A comparison of the two:

1080 Ti:

    740H/s at 200-240W, upfront cost of $700
    $9,500 upfront cost for 10kH/s
    2,970W power usage at 10kH/s

Z9 Mini:

    10,000H/s at 300W, upfront cost of $1,999
    $1,999 upfront cost for 10kH/s
    300W power usage at 10kH/s

And ZEC won't fork the algo. ZEC mining is dead with anything but ASICs. Switch for forked Equihash coins.

The fact that it's generating less shares has nothing to do with the OS install. Since the pool increased the difficulty even our own miners are generating less shares than before. ZEC increased its value a lot over the past weeks and it became more attractive for miners. More miners lead to a network difficulty increase. As long as the number of shares reported by the miner (running it visible on the screen) is the same as the number that appears in your BetterHash online account - everything is ok.

Hi,

I don't think the issue is on BetterHash's side. I suspect that the latest Windows update (the antivirus update) is the one causing this. Also, did you reinstall Betterhash by using the setup file on our site, or did you simply copy the folder?

Daniel

@Avarice1of2

We discovered and corrected the bug. Everything should be ok now! Sorry about that!

Thanks a lot! We'll be testing these days both PhoenixMiner and BMiner.

Daniel

While testing PhoenixMiner we noticed the following:

0% increase for the AMD GPUs when compared to Claymore
1% increase for the NVidia GPUs when compared to Claymore

It's true that Phoenix's fee is 0.65% - and this is a good thing. We'll test it a bit more and look for stability issues. Any feedback on Claymore vs. Phoenix from other users would be welcome.

In order to offer continuous service and prevent server downtime, today we added an additional routing server. Now, there are 2 routing servers and at least 3 backup pools for each coin. In case of a network failure, after a few reconnection attempts, the miners will reconnect through the secondary server.

You can download the latest release form the link below or wait for the automatic update.

We tried PhoenixMiner for ETH in the past and the results were not so good when compared to Claymore, and we decided to stick with it. For XMR mining we are using XMRig for the CPU and AMD GPUs and CCMiner (KlausT) for NVidia GPUs. All our XMR miners are of course using Cryptonight V7.

We test new miners very often and, when something better comes along - we gladly add it. Wink
