bitcoin will always be the best at least for the next few years, but altcoins are now quite good even though they can't be separated and still follow bitcoin prices but altcoins I think are quite tempting, apart from the price is relatively cheaper altcoins also have a pretty good market capitalization at least for now.
but if there is an option between choosing bitcoin or altcoin I think I will make the third option which is to buy both.
because indeed both are quite good even though in altcoins only a few are good but it is not wrong to adopt both because they are equally profitable.
Leaving some top 10 coins in the coinmarketcap i feel alll the coins are some how dependent on bitcoin, when bitcoin goes up all the crypto market goes up and when it goes down all the coins goes down so there is no comparison between them.

I always think that Bitcoin is always the best, and it is better than altcoins. However, in what cases?
So far, we are sure the existence of altcoins is because of Bitcoin itself. Bitcoin is the father of crypto, that is the first and never be replaced.
Should we compare each other? We also know that many altcoins are worthy, promising, and also real enough with the use cases. But, we also realize the numerous shitcoins that are very not worthy, shits, and also scams.
So, I think that we still choose better Bitcoin and of course choose also altcoins that are really good, having good and realistic fundamentals and user cases, have great and strong team, and also have good track records. Moreover the top altcoins.

Mostly altcoins depending on bitcoin, so investors have faith in bitcoin and want to stay with this but in this community we have some good number of pump and dump investors as well just because of them many altcoins move very quickly in both ways which help them to have very good profit in very short period but if you love to hold then surely you have to go with bitcoin.

For me Bitcoin is much better choice as investment because many times we have drastically changed in altcoins which hurt very badly even we lost some good amount of fund even many peoples reach to bankruptcy.
As the very typical choice, bitcoin is the wise choice.

But not every investor has their the same type of fondness with investing especially in cryptocurrencies. There are barriers like the price of it for which the new investors will likely complain telling how expensive it is.

It is without any doubt as the choice of most and the best to hold but even if we tell it as the best to those some that dislikes it and looks for alts, it won't really matter.
Bitcoin could be the biggest choice, it could even be the best choice, but it is not the only one. Look at all of marketcaps, bitcoin is nearly 840 billion dollars in marketcap, look at the total at CMC and you will see it is 1.9+ trillion dollars. That means 1.1+ trillion dollars in all other coins combined and that is just the CMC registered ones, there are many that did not break into CMC as well but they are usually small tiny bad stuff.

I would suggest you that bitcoin should be biggest piece of the pie when you are investing, but it should not be the only one neither. Get bitcoin with 50% of your investment but also do not forget to use the other 50% for some other stuff as well. That way you will be able to get some other stuff that will make you richer a lot faster than what bitcoin could do, certainly a great method of diversification to lower risk as well.
Yes, we all know that it is not the only choice that you can choose from the market. As I've said, it is the usual choice of everyone. So if you think that there's other more that you can add on it, you pick your own altcoins.

The investing style of others of adding a lot of altcoins is also typical but owning bitcoin, a big part of your portfolio containing bitcoin is also the strategy of many that has been proven and shown best results after a year or two.

To be honest, why not both? Given all are in the crypto world, plus the volatility is imminent to both as well. For security, a lot may say go for Bitcoin, as it already shows its power. But, if you are willing to take a dive and maximize the capability of your money, why not invest in both. As long as you are equipped with enough data and information, that will support your every action then all should be okay.

It comes, with risk well it's trading and investing so expect it.
That's right, if you can choose both, of course it's much better because it can reduce the risk of loss and can increase your profit. there is no need to debate which investment is more profitable because both can provide benefits as long as you choose the right altcoin and have good analysis.

I have been watching this market for a long time.

It seems that in the early part of a bull market, Bitcoin goes up faster than altcoins (ie Bitcoin dominance goes up.)  In the late part of a bull market, Bitcoin still goes up but altcoins go up even better (ie Bitcoin dominance goes down.)

In a bear market, altcoins fall faster than Bitcoin (ie Bitcoin dominance recovers somewhat but has to wait for the next bull market to go really high.)

So, it would seem the correct play is to buy altcoins at this point, and then convert them into Bitcoin (or sell) when you see the bull market ending?

I can see a lot of hype surrounding altcoins right now. And this is very similar to what happened in 2017. Back then also many of the altcoins went up by 100x or more, but many of them got almost worthless when the market crashed next year. I am not saying that it will repeat in 2021/22 as well, but looking at the pace at which some of the shady projects are going up, I will be more cautious. The market has now reached bubble zone. It may burst anytime soon. That said, I am not worried much about coins such as ADA, BNB.etc.

I didn’t have any BTC right now. The last time that I hold Bitcoin was on early December 2020 before that big pump commenced. I still regretted that day when I’ve sold my BTC for USDT. Now I am holding mostly ETH and some of the altcoins that I’m bullish until today. However, most of the coins and tokens that I have in my wallets are nothing but shitcoins lol.

Well it's still not too late to invest in Bitcoin again because we just had a dipped. You might regret it again when Bitcoin reached $100,000 someday. Although it's uncertain when, but the possibility is still there just like how we all dream of getting $50,000 each.

The point is that the opportunity is still wide open, Bitcoin/Altcoins is still a hope that promises profits in the long term, here a strong commitment and patience is really needed. Although we don't know for sure when it promises high profits, the popularity and role of Bitcoin/Altcoins itself are increasingly prominent in today's economic life, this has the potential to reach the future.
I think that sometimes what happens is the best, I am sure that if I had not sold BTC you would not have learned something, however if you have shitcoins, it is not bad, just take advantage of them, when you have a profit of x2, x3 you change it to BTC, or simply looking for another opportunity with another currency and so on, but the teaching you must take is unique, perhaps that is the way to help you see other types of investments in the crypto world, and thus quickly achieve BTC Getting to BTC is difficult, in fact I have never been able to have 1BTC, but I am sure that one day I will be able to have it or even more, but the way to do this you must discover it, I think that all this is a teaching.

We've once been on that road where the altcoins we hold could be the next Bitcoin. Apparently, it's not happening. None of the altcoins I have held for years since 2017 had actually climbed the ladder like Bitcoin in fact some of the teams disappeared already. The one that follows is ETH but its gap is just too far.

I'm not sure anymore if there will be a community that will really use the altcoin as intended by the team. It only feels like they are snatching satoshis from investors.  Nothing compares to BTC.

This is always that game of cat and mouse in my opinion.  I suppose you are correct that this is often how it does play out, but it's important to never forget that just like that your shitty altcoins that have absolutely no utility could easily fall out of the sky.  I myself only dabble a little in the altcoin space and mostly just with altcoins that I think have an actual legit future such as ethereum and monero.

I preferred both to invest. But yes, the major part goes to altcoin. Invested on the best top altcoins. Have bought coins which were less than a dollar so that the profit would be higher than investing on coins which are above $5 or $10 dollars. Since I had a little to invest, I choose altcoins. But yes, Bitcoin is again the best coin to invest as much as we can.
Neither Bitcoin nor the top altcoins are good for investment,
we don't need to worry because in my experience so far investing in both is much safer than investing in shitcoins or meme coins,
apart from that everyone has their own choice and it depends on their decision

I admit that investing in Bitcoin and top altcoins is very profitable, I say that because I have made big profits when investing in Bitcoin and
top altcoins. But if I have to choose one, of course investing in Bitcoin is much better. Bitcoin has always dominated the market, Bitcoin has
also recovered very quickly, and altcoins usually follow Bitcoin's movements. So there is no need to hesitate to invest in Bitcoin, as long as
we can be patient waiting for our target to be reached, we can definitely make a big profit from Bitcoin. Regarding shitcoins or meme coins
it's best to avoid it, because if it has fallen the price will be difficult to recover. There are even some shitcoins that I have bought, but the price
hasn't recovered, even though I have been patient holding for two years.

Among cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin is still king and dominant. Altcoins will rise with the rise of Bitcoin. The price of Bitcoin will also fall because of the fall in the price of Bitcoin.
Many altcoins are developed based on Bitcoin, but altcoins also have mature technologies. The top coins in the coin rankings have developed very well. Bitcoin and altcoins promote each other's development.

True, bitcoin and altcoins support each other because they need each other, bitcoin will not be as valuable as it is now if it just stands alone without altcoins, for me investing altcoins is more promising because the opportunity to go up x100 is easier to achieve than bitcoin, of course I also save bitcoin even though it's a small portion compared to altcoins.

Bitcoin dominates the crypto market. Although bitcoin is risky, it is less risky than altcoins. So investing in it is safer than altcoins. Bitcoin is the best choice for investors for long-term investment. The limited number of bitcoin and the use of more users will continue to increase in price in the future, and long-term holding will result in higher profits.
Short-term trading of altcoins may be more profitable. The initial prices of altcoins are relatively low. According to market trends, buying low and selling high will also reap a lot of benefits. But in the end the price of most altcoins will still follow the price of Bitcoin and change.
It is not the limited supply of bitcoin that makes it a valuable asset or better investment than the vast majority of altcoins. The main reason most people prefer the top cryptocurrency is that bitcoin, unlike altcoins, is actually decentralized. Decentralization matters because it decreases uncertainty, which is also the main goal of making investments. When investing in a decentralized currency you can be sure that no one will change its properties, no one will shut it down, no one will overtake control over it. The features of decentralized currency, which once made you interested in it, are going to stay the same for hundreds of years, which is well enough to make an investor more certain.

Altcoins, on the other hand, mostly have a team of developers making decisions about how things should go. They can change the features of their creation very easily thus impacting the future of your investments. If you want to rely on others for your investments to grow, then altcoins are the best choice, however, you may lose your money too. Either way, you are going to be uncertain all the time.
