Farewell, Leo
I've never made any effort to hide my identity.  My name is right in my userID.
Your name is... Danny Hamilton? I thought you used it as a pseudonym, possibly from one of your favorite musicians...

You may be disappointed though.
Users who supported bitcoin from the very beginning (you're here since 2011, right?) and remain active 'til today belong definitely in my watchlist.

There are still some decentralised YouTube alternatives but still they don't have much hype because YouTube caters to the most of the video content on internet as billion of users have registered
I haven't seen any of those Youtube competitors, and I don't know if they're on par with Youtube, but I suspect that the reason they haven't caught on is because content creators can't make money on them.  It's the same reason cryptotalk.org never caught on (or at least one of the reasons), and why a lot of forums dedicated to specific, popular altcoins don't generate tons of traffic, i.e., bitcointalk is a place where you can make money by posting.

If those competitors do find a way to get the content creators' videos monetized, no doubt they'd become much more popular....but then they'd end up under the thumb of the advertisers, just like Youtube is.

The "Soon™" scares me a little, but there is hope Smiley.
Was that Soon trademarked after becoming a response to "When is the new bitcointalk forum software coming out"?  If that's the case, I'd be scared as well.

I find your lack of faith in Bitcoin disturbing.
It seems that we don't have long to wait Smiley

I think most of the people won't agree to this because people here are more concern about their KYC and not revealing their identity.
Who said for a face to face interview? A podcast of them being interviewed would be more than enough. No need to reveal their face; it'd ruin the mystery that is provided with pseudonimity.

I've never made any effort to hide my identity.  My name is right in my userID.

... List of people I'd pay to watch/listen their interview (listed in descending order):
  • ...
  • DannyHamilton
  • ...

I'd happily participate in a podcast discussion (or YouTube). You may be disappointed though. You'll find that I'm not nearly as confident, eloquent, or accurate in conversation.  I typically review, edit, re-type, and fact-check a LOT of what I type here before it gets posted.  Without the opportunity to do that, you won't get the same quality of content from me.

Are we going live soon? I mean I'm waiting for this to happen like forever.
Sorry for being harsh but I just cannot wait to see the first video rolling.
Many are still waiting for the official confirmation but there's not any teaser released still.

Was looking for the Twitter today and found that there's another one called the BitcointTalkShow... it doesn't really matter as we gonna be unique anyway Smiley
No they are not the official btctalkshow Twitter handle of the forum as i searched after your post and found two of them and both of them are registered in 2014 on twitter and have 20-24 followers on their account.

1) https://twitter.com/BTCTalk?t=eCMdfdxNRvv7zKWEU82lDQ&s=09

2) https://twitter.com/BitcoinTalkShow?t=hLVE78fCyH2uUNp-bafYRg&s=09

But forum channel for YouTube is still awaited and could roll out anytime as mid October has come out.

Wondering if it will come first the Youtube Channel or the Youtube replacement:
There are still some decentralised YouTube alternatives but still they don't have much hype because YouTube caters to the most of the video content on internet as billion of users have registered I'd and various channel's post millions of video daily. There are still some platforms like LBRY and D.Tube which have similar user interface compared to youtube but still many don't use them if we compare it with YouTube.

So the companies working on such platform will take some time and may or might not have that much hype in intial years even if they managed to make it.Speaking truly they have dedicated team for the work and our man is working alone and it could take some time but very much before the launch of what you are referring to.

Hoping it to be rolled out soon also.

I'm just hoping it won't be that much longer, because I'm excited about the channel.  Even if it's not perfect (which I'm almost certain it won't be), I'll still be a subscriber and watch every video that's put out.
We are also hoping to have some announcement soon because having a legit bitcointalk channel not promoting any fake coins and shilling out the repeated old crap that we are currently having on bitcoin YouTube related channels. That is why the curiousty is high and will also be taking out time to watch every session of the video uploaded.

Hear, hear.  The upswing in bitcoin's price certainly is a welcoming distraction from the absence of bitcointalk's Youtube channel--but I'll still be waiting with eager anticipation for its release.
The price diversion are also incentivising the holders who have the teared the bears apart and that is great news for all of us but now there are next targets locked like new ATH for bitcoin and channel's teaser to be out.

Video production has a lot of pitfalls, and what you might think would take a week, might actually take four weeks. The times which I've actually wanted to capture something, and then edit it together has taken me a lot longer than anticipated, I know I'm not particularly skilled in that department, and the team they've got working on this should be, however I can understand running into snags, especially if Cyrus is overseeing this, and the team is capturing it, since it might not be to Cyrus' tastes the first few times they watch the footage back.
I remember once my friend who was putting YouTube videos for one of small company and it takes lot of editing and software then generating quality content and then working on the script and lot of other work is involved so i can truly understand the situation of having not a dedicated team for each work will take time to deliver the quality products. So it's completely fine if they are taking time as we have waited so many years without any hope but now everything is finalised and just a little time would make it more impressive for sure.

I know that you don't mean that about theymos exclusively and that you are referring to the whole admin team, but is theymos even involved in the YouTube project?
I also don't think so that he is involved as @Cyrus has said that all the funds were being managed by him and he is working for the channel so don't think so that he is also involved in this Bitcointalk show channel.

Theymos et al. typically move at the speed of a crippled snail, so the missing of the self-imposed deadline shouldn't be all that surprising.

I don't mind waiting if the finished product will become better. Maybe allowing some Bitcointalk users who would be interested in that a sneak preview to give honest feedback before the video is uploaded on YouTube isn't a bad idea either. You want the first video to be as good as possible. If we have people who know what a good video should look like, why not listen to what they have to say?

Price from preev.com is taken from kraken.com (one of the most common exchange in EUR area).
You can even change that if you want. Just click on the gear icon on the top right corner. That will allow you to switch between Kraken, Bitfinex, Bitstamp, and LocalBitcoins.

Conversion from USD/EUR it's pretty easy. Just remove -16% (today!) and you have the price in euro....
Since that value changes constantly, it's much easier using a cryptocurrency converter and calculator like the one CoinMarketCap has.
You can also use preev.com, it should be even better.

yes I use preev.com for price conversions btc/eur. absolutely agree.
there is a reason.
Price from preev.com is taken from kraken.com (one of the most common exchange in EUR area).
If I had to pay 100 USD (or EUR) to an user I always use preev about the correct amount (since I am not using USD as FIAT currency and we have not an official value for bitcoin).

but
if I don't need to pay someone but just check current BTC value, it's ok any website that show BTC price in USD or the best resource from the past https://bitcoinwisdom.io/markets/bitfinex/btcusd Grin
I know there are many many other resources to track btc price... but this is something old fashioned...

I know quality work takes time with less workforce dedicated for the completion of the task.Hoping that they might be coming up with some new parts aside from the suggested ones for the channel to make an impression over the audience. But actually it's the curiousity of all the forum lovers to have eyes on it.The update was for mid September and we are coming a month ahead of it so asking for an update is just fine.

This is especially true when you haven't worked with someone before, usually despite having communicated what you want, there's a variance in the ideas, and therefore the actual video filmed. This however should get better with time. I'm speculating there, however in life I've come to the conclusion that proposed deadlines are rarely ever met, and if something can go wrong it likely will.

It's true, but I wouldn't sell 1BTC anytime soon.. Grin
Also USD valuation only helps if you're in USA, otherwise you need EUR or GBP valuation etc.

despite I am living in Europe, EUR is my fiat currency, every time I use valuation in USD since it is an international standard, and generically the price is referred in USD from the scratch.
Then you also have to do a second calculation all the time, converting from USD to EUR. I don't get why, if the argument is that you check the Bitcoin price when buying something denominated in fiat value. Then it makes more sense to keep track of BTCEUR if you're European.

I am counting BTC price only in USD.
In 2013-2014 (when I get into this "world") every exchange or service was quoting just USD value.
USD it's also an international standard. Also in forum people show the price of items/services in USD.

I don't know if has more sense keep price in BTC/EUR probably not.

It's not a one-man video crew. Guess we now have one less excuse if we miss the mid-September launch  Grin

A gentle reminder: tomorrow is Sep, 15th, a.k.a. mid September.

Staring at the Calendar, day 3.
Please @Cyrus, I am holding my breath!

I have also been teased of a teaser!

It's October 5th in forum time. Half of the world is already on Oct 6th.
Wondering if we will ever have an official update on this.

I assume if there hasn't been an update it's because they're busy working on bringing a quality product to the table.  I'd rather wait and have something I'd want to watch then not have to wait and not be able to get through the video because it's so poorly done.  With this project, it's quite possible they'll only have 1 chance to grab a major chunk of this community as followers.  I doubt many people would dislike the first video and then come back to check out the second.  They need to make a good impression and I have faith that's what they're spending their time doing.
