If more members of the forum follow the channel and like the content and even share
the content there is no reason why it couldnt be successful.

I voted for Friday, my thinking is that more people will have time at the weekend to
catch up on social media content, Friday's release should be more recent in a
followers feed.

I'll admit much higher quality than I was expecting for a first video, so good job on that! Apart from mixing up the words towards the end Wink.
Like at few seconds of the video he says fuzzy wuzzy was a bear which is originally child rhyming from Cooltime kids description of warriors which i believe. And yes he seems to be mixing up some words at the last and then the screen rolls out like cut it like after each section he explained in this teaser.

As for the day on the videos being released, I'm not sure if it'll make much difference in the grand scheme of things? I guess my natural thought process would be you'd get more viewers on a Friday because less people are in work, but I'm not sure if that would be true as that's probably counter balanced by the people that go out for the weekends.
There are different weekends for different nations but most of them are Monday-Friday and have two days off and you could have gained more views on these days but many Muslim nations works in opposite directions like working from Saturday to Thursday and so it depends upon how much audience the video is targeting. Here check different weekdays and weekends for countries Workdays and weekend. But i would not say the views solely depends on these week days as we can take out some time to watch these videos in normal days also.

I'm guessing release time as in the time of day would be more important than the day, though I honestly don't know much about the Youtube algorithm, and when's the best time. Something you could probably experiment with.
These are some results i find out for the youtube algorithm and time to post youtube videos :

I guess as long as you're making relevant, and interesting videos the views won't matter too much, as the video will be found regardless over time.
The content should be adequate enough that it targets all age groups and make them interested in the videos and you will probably find more views and subscribers.Although the audience is interested in other stuff like gaming, music, and other gadgets but believe me when you make videos with intersting format and tell them facts and figures you will see people becoming interested and doing research about it and then you will see channel growth. You only need to work for quality content at this time not major promotion and slowly indulging people in your events.Rest it will take time for people to find this gem.

what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?
Thanks for that! The WO is already mentioned in some of the upcoming videos and there's a dedicated video upcoming about the Wall Observer thread. Anything special you guys want to see featured, something that we definitely shouldn't miss?
Feel free to reply in the show's thread so we won't go too OT here. Thanks!

not sure where the rollarcoaster guy gif came from so maybe not WO but that meme sums btc up so appropriately it needs a shout out at the very least.

edit: crosspost from WO thread because i cant follow instructions lol

white guy with beard wearing hipster t-shirt standing in front of a bunch of gadgets/memorabilia, wacky background muzak, quick cuts, etc.  I was hoping the channel wouldn't go that route, but I can't say I'm surprised it did.
That's the thing, maybe it shouldn't even matter who the guy is as long as our community is properly represented along with information that we like watching. Having a relatable, even if of the popular kind, host might achieve that IMO.
If the channel is representing our community, I would think the identity of the presenter should matter quite a bit, no?  AFAIK, bitcointalk's Youtube channel isn't selling a product and who do you think the target audience is going to be?  Bitcointalk members!  That might be one of the reasons why there are only 29 subscribers at the moment--a number that leaves me dumbfounded, because I know damn well there are way more people than that who've been awaiting the release of the channel.

I know I'm nitpicking and criticizing something that I've been looking forward to for quite a while, but I can't help myself.  There are so many videos out there across an array of different areas of interest that seem to present their content in similar ways--and one of them is the presenter/speaker looking like I described, as well as the background and so forth.  That might seem to be what draws in views and why so many content creators are feverishly copying each other's strategies, but why start off the bitcointalk channel doing that?  Surely there's been enough time to think of creative new ways of presenting whatever content is forthcoming.

And regarding the general approach so far, I thought it would be cool to see BitcoinTalk oriented video content close in quality to some of the big boys and girls out there.
Not sure what your precise definition of quality is in this context.  To me that word when used to describe a Youtube video would mean screen resolution, getting the message across without wasting the viewer's time with extraneous crap, and perhaps a subjective factor that would be different for everybody.

If I were to judge the trailer on those criteria, I'd say it was great.  The visuals, however, just look too much like everything else that's on Youtube.  However I will keep an open mind, and I am looking forward to the next video.

I’m glad the thing has finally started, some have been pretty eager to see something concrete - and I have to admit the video pleasantly surprised me - and I have no doubt the BTT channel will be popular with crypto users.

As for the poll, I voted for “other” because I think the weekend is perhaps the best time when people have the most time (at least those who work) to be able to watch something on YT in peace. However, the content is much more important than the timing, so if people find it interesting, they will watch videos every day of the week. Wink

Here it comes the long awaited trailer and as i was doing some work and forgot to check this thread and was amazed to have a look that @Cyrus has already teased us with the trailer and finally we have a glimpse of our official @BitcoinTalkShow with 55 seconds of trailer. This is now hyped up and temperature is suddenly rising with cold winds blowing. At last it's out and now we cannot complain that when will we have a look at it.

Ayyyy!  I have no idea who that guy is or even if he got the message across clearly about what the channel is going to be about, it's nice to see there's been major progress on the creation of the channel.  I'm proud to be the 6th or 7th subscriber, and I'll be looking forward to more videos.
He is hosting for the video purpose and maybe he is familiar or not as he has been given task to present the ideas to the audience and what we should focus on more is that the content should be of top quality as most of them look alike and it doesn't matter now. With me being little late to the party but now have subscribed to the channel and now it stands at 28 subscribers and 163 views in 2 days as many of them are still not aware of it but gems don't hide for long so is the case with this channel and it will see sudden growth with more and more videos being uploaded.

The video looks very nice, but as I suspected it looks very much like a lot of other ones made by professional Youtubers, even down to white guy with beard wearing hipster t-shirt standing in front of a bunch of gadgets/memorabilia, wacky background muzak, quick cuts, etc.  I was hoping the channel wouldn't go that route, but I can't say I'm surprised it did.
I also wished that we don't see similar things but most of these YouTube hosts have the same accent and having similar setup to give studio look with all these gadgets and i found it interesting that he changed three t-shirts within 55 seconds of video with each having different images like of btc and bear

But what matters the most to us is the channel don't go exactly the same way all these youtubers shill out fake knowledge to the audience and it will not go that way because they are into generating quality and have the public opinion from bitcointalk community and will choose the right ones so no worries about it.I think we can bear white beared guys who are promoting and providing the right and correct information not into making videos on crypto and fake promotions of shitcoins and centralised exchanges like other channels out there.

Can’t wait for the first video!

You doing promotions on your level which is why i like forum because all of them act as community to promote the quality content.I also have subscribed the same and on the top of it referring it to my close friends also who are interested in crypto and could learn a lot from this channel and bitcointalk forum.

More than 5, less than 10 so far. Hope it won't change people's expectations that much. You don't really need two people shooting
It's completely fine to have 6-9 people of team who are dedicated to their own feild of work and do it perfectly because you are not shooting high budget movies for more persons are required.Single camera person is fine as center shooting scene are present more and you don't need to have multiple shots at single frame to give it 3D look so it's fine.

I also liked how in the video you also added the screenshot of the original idea when this was being discussed to open up a bitcointalk YouTube channel back in the 2018 and how this came into reality after 3 years of patience.

This way the viewers could have the idea that how the idea was originated in those days and now it is finalized.

Good points! And since we don't have analytics while just starting out, thought it might be good to get a feel through some votes here and there.
Don't worry at all as whenever we start something unique we learn lot of things which we later on take into consideration for improving our work and your thought of having voting is also good way to hype the people and make them involved in the channel through these social media techniques and voting. Now I know the videos are going to be uploaded soon whether it's Wednesday or Friday but you should have a final look and all the editing work is fine and then upload it until then we will try to create a hype for channel on our level.

Best wishes to you man and mark my word the channel is growing soon. Wink

That's because the twitter poll was set to 24, while the one here is 48h. It was more or less by accident, sorry.

Out of curiosity, could you tells us how many people are involved so far in the project? I suppose you have the final word but how is the setup being made? 1 presenter + 2 cameraman + 1 video editor and yourself as a final approval? I'm just trying to wrap around my head at the work that has been done so far ... Would really love to know how many hours were put into the project already (ever since the idea conception up until the first teaser for example).
As Quickseller hinted a few days ago, been trying to acquire various collectibles to display, shout out and hopefully in the future giving the Collectibles section the attention it deserves!
That's actually a great idea! I apologize if it was something hinted in this (long) thread, but it totally seems like a match for the Youtube channel and a win for our community - we get to show the amazing and talented artists / collectors that we have while, at the same time, promote the channel by showing unique items that can only be found in here... Whoever gave this idea is a genius! Out in the imaginary fields I'm already seeing some sort of major giveaway for our 100th video, something like a minted coin where a user, in order to have an opportunity to win it, would have to donate (in crypto of course) to a Humans Right institution / hospital / facility in need. Each donation would get him a ticket and so on! (I guess I'm speaking out of my mind atm, but whoever says a coin can also say something more tied to the forum ...)

BTW, added a short poll on when the videos should be released
While I love the idea of people taking part in the channel direction and voting in which day the videos should release, I think that if we really want to hit that sweet spot of maximizing the amount of reach that we can have, we have to also take in consideration other factors in order to choose the best day and period of time to upload the channel videos. The "sweet" time to upload takes in account a multitude of factors:

  • Our users demographics - If we have a younger audience it's more likely for them to be more active during the day since they have more free time than say adults which have a better probability to see our videos at the end of the day;
  • The timezone of the biggest audience that we have - If we have a larger audience from, lets say, USA, we can't "launch" videos that match late night hours (I guess from 00:00 to 06:00 AM). We have to tailor made our uploads to match more active hours (I guess lunch time - people are often at their phones but may lack the time to see the videos - or even evening time);
  • The length of the video - I guess that shorter videos have a higher chance to be seen on even "busy hours" or "work hours" due to the fact that they are small. We could use this for our advantage as well.

These were just some factors that came to my mind (and some could be even wrong). I think that since we are starting out we can fine tune our launch window mostly because we are starting new, but as we progress and develop we should keep a close eye on the Youtube channel analytics because we'll eventually start gathering followers whose activity may be incompatible with the one that we will be running at the time. Again, don't take me wrong, I love the idea to being able to choose / vote on the launch day of our videos, I just think it shouldn't be something set in stone after some time.

Keep up the good work Cyrus + whoever is also helping you!  Wink

The set is evolving, in our current batch-shoot-edit-later approach the first day(s) of shooting caught us a bit off guard.
Regarding the Proof of Beats, I'm delighted to inform you could buy them straight from the forum, announced and created by tothemoonsands here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annwts-official-limited-edition-proof-of-beats-lp-record-friends-of-satoshi-5239522

That's way more that I was hoping to get as the first teaser Cyrus! Oh, that's a great idea! And would love to see something like this in the future.

Thank you everyone for your feedback and suggestions and also for your likes and subscriptions! Really glad you guys like the quality and general feel of things.

As for the video itself, it looks really good. In the first frame (of the actual presenter) we can already see that there is a considerable amount of production value that went into this (and remember, we're just talking about a teaser). I don't know if you are the presenter Cyrus, or if there was some kind of screening to choose one, but the first impression that I have from him is that he is a very down to earth dude and someone that is likeable - which I consider two very important traits for a content presenter.

I also found the chosen presenter posture very ... intriguing. There are a ton of youtubers that either present us shots from a desk, standing, or even in a couch, but you've decided (or whoever was directing the video) that a almost-relaxed-but-not-so posture would fit the theme of the first teaser and I kinda agree with - I think that just standing out there in the open is just plain weird, but I also think that being seated doesn't have the same impact to the viewer than this one. I guess it has to due with how much the presenter fills the screen + feels more comfortable in a position that isn't just plain standing. I believe that also ends up creating a more relaxed stance, which I believe is well perceived in the teaser (despite the bloopers).

As a final note I really liked the fact that the last frame showed us 3 different bitcoin/crypto images divided in 3 mosaics each, that ended up being "made" by the presenter. I'll leave here this quick frame for the ones that didn't see it:

Also, who was the guy that shouted in the last section? Clearly he is as excited as we are for the channel!

I totally understand your point of view and I partially agree with it since if we do want to stand out and do our "own" thing we must go against what is already established/seen as "good production value". But, at the same time, I also understand that this kind of settings/composure match with the ones that are being showed by professional Youtubers because it's a proven formula that it attracts viewers. We can talk about content vs production value and how important it is to have a balance between them, but I'm sure that we have lots of cases in Youtube where there may not be a high level of production value (say, for example a smaller channel with no means / knowledge to work with visuals/set design) but instead a tremendous amount of knowledge/personality. This may not translate in a quick grow to the youtuber itself when compared with another youtuber that boasts the same (or even a bit less) of knowledge associated with their videos but has a upper hand regarding video production.

Oh, man--that was just under a year ago, and I'd already forgotten all about it.  But I certainly don't remember an image of a tube of whatever that was in the video being posted, so that's why it caught my interest.  It looks like a neat collectible-type thing.

And I didn't mean to be a negative noodle with my criticisms of the teaser vid, though I meant what I wrote.  I'll be awaiting future videos, and I'm glad the channel at least got started.  I was beginning to think this was all just community masturbation.
