The downside to this is it looks like an unsustainable business model right now... the amount given out is greater than the site is taking as its commission. Do you have a personal/site investment in the bankroll to help offset this as well?

It is a sustainable business model. You need to spend money to make any business grow faster. I estimated the cost for rain to be around 1BTC a month. The house takes a 0.34% fee of every bet. Quite reasonable and investor-friendly. Also, I think there is an investment of around 15-20BTC at 2x kelly risk not quite sure about that tho.
