well, we never know how GGG is preparing for this fight. for the past couple of fights, for sure, he already got the pointers on how to possibly beat canelo fast, fair & clear. this is why most users in this forum are rooting for GGG this time. if in case they will have the fourth one, they should schedule it as soon as possible while GGG is still up for it because he's not getting any younger.

Yeah, this is my point. GGG must have beat Canelo when he was still in his prime not this time around (at least for me, this is what I'm thinking). Boxing is a sport where age does matter to almost everybody especially if you are a banger where the wear and tear affect you at the tail end of your career.

Oh, I missed this ^^ but I don't our vote here would translate to money where the odds would be almost even because at the end of the day Canelo would still be the heavy favorite to win this match at the bookies.

A rematch could happen with Bivol but Canelo's camp are just smart enough to build a hype before the rematch.

No, they are not building the hype. A rematch against Bivol is actually the next plan after that loss but Canelo's camp was advised that going straight to a rematch against Bivol will be risky for Canelo. That's why instead of pushing it, Canelo follow his timeline that he need to face GGG this year which is actually a plan prior Canelo vs Bivol fight.

If Canelo will lose this fight, and on other hand, Bivol also loses his upcoming match, therefore there will be changes.

Though interest from the fans still be there for Canelo but not that same hypes if he will lose from GGG, it's good to see them both wins and start to deal with the rematch, I mean the negotiation for the rematch, for now, let's enjoy both upcoming fights and cheer for them. We will see updates right after the fight and who knows, the fighter itself will announce their interest to have that rematch.

A  boxer's career is good as his record.  If Canelo losses to GGG in this coming fight, it will greatly affect the future  hype and interest on the fight of Canelo.  It would be not good if Canelo suffers a back to back losses and it will surely affect his career.

I think if ever GGG wins on this fight, it would be interesting to watch another rematch to seal the rivalry.

Sure not good for him if Canelo losses this fight but it would be one hell of a fantastic fight for GGG if ever that happens so probably a fourth fight for them which think would generate more money for GGG this time as he is the winner in the third, but this scenario is a slim probability as GGG is an old dog.

I would say that September 17 is Canelo's redemption night for his loss to Bivol so yeah he will defeat an old GGG again this time.

It is indeed a ticket for his rematch if ever he will decide to move up for another try, Bivol though got his own upcoming fight and we don't know what will happen, though personally I can say that with his amazing skills he can win that fight, we witness his quickness and good counter each time Canelo attempts to box him.

A rematch could happen with Bivol but Canelo's camp are just smart enough to build a hype before the rematch. And you are right, what if upset will happen? Then Canelo's popularity will be affected and most likely we will see a GGG vs Bivol, and IMO it's gonna be a great and exciting fight.

I don't think that Bivol vs GGG will happen even if he wins against Canelo in their fight. He will be too small at light heavyweight He is a career 160 lbs and this just the first or the second time that he will step up to 168 lbs, Canelo's best weight. So I think win or lose in here, Alvarez will fight Bivol and I think there will still be hype for this match even if the cash cow lost to GGG.

So we are just few weeks before this fight happens and lets see if Canelo's fans wont be disappointed or into those GGG fans. Cool

Time flies so fast. I didn't realize that it was only about a matter of over a week and we will now witness this fight.

Excited here to watch the fight live. Let's get this on!

More importantly, want to see GGG beating the crap of Canelo to end their chapter.

Time flies so fast indeed and just a week more to go before we can finally witness their trilogy next weekend Grin

I bet there are so many people globally who are rooting for GGG's win here except of course for the Mexicans as they are supporting Canelo, and I'm sure that GGG has prepared very well for this fight because at last he now has the chance to get some revenge after all the issues and loss he endured in this chapter.

Big risk but decent amount of profits if happens that GGG beats Canelo this time, I agree that there are fans out there who wanted to see GGG to win, and even Canelo still the favorite here they will put their bets for GGG in hope that he will over-perform Canelo and win this trilogy.

You know, Canelo vs GGG is better than Canelo vs Bivol IMO, so I'd rather see the same boxer fighting than GGG vs Bivol or Canelo vs Bivol when the outcome still favors Bivol.

Well, Bivol stated that he is open to a Canelo rematch but it is the fight against Beterbiev he wanted.  Probably Bivol thinks that he can gain nothing if he has a rematch against Canelo, so he is aiming for an undisputed clash against Artur Beterbiev [1]
So Canelo will be trying to find a way to get this fight, but Bivol could very well ignore him.

That depends if he think fighting Canelo is not gonna generate a lot of money, but still, we cannot deny that Canelo generates good PPV numbers and people are still watching him, so I don't think that losing against GGG is going to ruined his career, he can always come back, especially if he will beat Bivol on their rematch.

Canelo - Bivol II is still possible since Bivol is open for negotiation, if the negotiation goes well then we can probably see a rematch between the two, but I think Beterbiev - Bivol will generate more money than the said possible rematch because these analysts even say that the upcoming Ramirez - Bivol is way better than the previous match Bivol - Canelo. [2]

especially if he will beat Bivol on their rematch.

I think Bivol is too much for Canelo, you had already witnessed it in their first match.

I felt that Canelo's words that he wants to end the great career of Golovkin are too disrespectful. Especially considering the fact that Canelo himself was beaten by Bivol and his career is also in question. Maybe this is just a statement to keep up the hype, but in my opinion the words were chosen incorrectly. Now if Golovkin wins, it's more likely that Canelo will be forced to retire, hehe.

We can't blame Canelo if he said those words to Golovkin because he just recently lost his face in the crowd after he was defeated for being too ambitious in getting belts in the higher weight class, I believe Canelo just wanted to lift up the hype again that was once surrounded his name.

Golovkin as usual is still humble after that, but if in any case that Golovkin will be the hailed winner then I really bet that Canelo's name will be destroyed as he will be climbing the ranks again after that and his worth will reduce big time because of that fact. So yeah, he might retire if that happens.

Controversial arguments. If Canelo does lose to Golovkin (unfortunately, this is unlikely due to Golovkin's age), then the halo around his achievements will be completely destroyed (and many will repeat that previous fights were actually in favor of Golovkin too). In that case, Canelo would still be a dangerous opponent, but disadvantageous - what's the achievement of beating him one more time? So Canelo will be trying to find a way to get this fight, but Bivol could very well ignore him.

There's always hype because we are talking of Canelo, he was once an undisputed champion. Let us not talk about the future as we might miss the excitement happening for this fight, a trilogy is good but what if there's another fight after this?

That's why Canelo should know better that a trashtalk is just normal to hear prior the fights and GGG is just trying to mess up Canelo's mind, to think, Canelo has been a lot sensitive recently especially when he is not seeing or getting what he is preparing for and he need to control that because that could mess his strategies big time.

I'm not sure but it was Canelo who throws that trash talk saying that he will end GGG's career after this fight. It was not GGG who was focusing on this chance. It's been a long delayed rematch and I'm sure fans are everywhere, with or without the trash talk's support, will be there for this fight. Though it's added, more talks about both fighters and engagements with fans and readers will also add up for potential sales in tickets and on any gambling platforms.

We do know that each boxer does have different styles on selling up their fights which is commonly on trash talking but i do see some do just keep quiet and let their fists do the talking which i do see or something that i do recommend.

In fairness to Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin, they are not the type of boxers that usually do trash talks as part of promoting the fight.

Their respective "NAME" is just enough to attract people to pay for the tickets to witness them fighting at the ring.

That kind of recognition is not that easy to achieve but these 2 future boxing legends able to build their legacy to a top level.

They might not be trash talking at each other, however, Canelo and GGG very much hate each other hehe. It began during their rematch when Canelo was caught using a banned chemical in boxing which is a steroid and which also can improve performance of athletes. GGG talked about this in press conferences and Canelo did not like this. Ever since the rematch, they have hated each other. See the latest conferences for this fight. Canelo was telling the media that GGG is an asshole. GGG was only quiet, however, in some articles it was mentioned that GGG said that Canelo's behavoir in the press conference might be the side effects of steroids heheheheh.

@Sithara007. Realistically Canelo can knockout this old version of GGG through body punches, I reckon. However, GGG is not be very easy to knockout. He has not been knockout in his whole career.

9 days remaining for the match. I have noticed that odds have become slightly more favorable towards Golovkin. For him, previously it was in the range of +330 to +350, but now I am seeing odds of +280 to +290. Still I believe that he is under-rated in this fight. I have made a bet in favor of Golovkin, but only for a small amount. Heart still says that Golovkin will win somehow, but if I think realistically, then I don't see a path for him to win. He needs a KO given the bias from judges. And KO against Canelo looks near impossible, given the age of GGG.

This fight does not need trash talk to hype it, it was the fans who requested to see it and here it is, so I can say that it's going to be a sold-out fight and the fans will be entertained watching this. Canelo is the winner in the previous match but anything can happen here, GGG could win here and maybe retire to give Canelo a lesson that trash talking is bad.

Canelo just hates GGG for backstabbing him in the past now this is his time to take revenge, there's really no need to thrash talking show off on this fight, they are not meeting for the first time this is their third match its time for both fighters to show respect, GGG is doing that he is more concentrated on the fight while Canelo is not, he is thrash talking GGG he seldom does that to his opponents, I think GGG is getting in his head and he is aware that he badly needs to win this fight, to climb to the all-time greats again.

Whatever his reason, it doesn't look good on him because we idolized Canelo and we know he is not a trashtalker. Thing is, if he gets trashtalked, he is easily affected, so that's not good because it will lose his concentration in the fight, and I'm afraid this time the judges won't be able to save him.

Come on, let us not be sensitive here, this is boxing, it's entertainment and therefore trash talking is just normal. It's something that will add spices on the fight and so that people will keep talking, and as a result, they'll be able to sell more tickets for more profits, simple as that.

GGG does not have to mind the trash-talk, he needs to focus on this fight and prove to the world that he can beat Canelo. Imagine if GGG will win here, that would give Canelo 2 losses in a row and will result in reducing his popularity. People will also remember that GGG is the better fighter between the two, so I understand why GGG is silent, it only says he will do the talking in the ring.

GGG is always silent and never we saw him badmouthing his opponent. Him being humble just want to prove his strength in the actual fight and not by words. GGG is also not the type of boxer that will return dirty talk. He will rather be silent about it and just wait for the result on the day of the fight.

Canelo on the other hand already put some heated arguments against GGG but still, the latter just remained silent and calm.

And that's the best thing about Golovkin, he ain't the type of boxer who does some issues or sick argument just to sell a fight. He was humble since he started his career in the boxing industry and made a name without scratching someone's back or stepping on someone, all Golovkin wanted is to show the whole industry what he made of and just like to do the talk.

For Canelo, it's fine for him to talk big and everything like that because he can also prove what he is saying inside the ring. It's just that Canelo knew some time ago that without the help of the judges, he now has 3 losses in his career that's why he is trying to take a fight into Golovkin's head to mess the latter's strategy.

But yeah, just a couple more days to go before this finally landed, everyone is anticipating that they will just continue what they left off in the 2 fights that the had, round 25 in this trilogy starts.

I know everyone is patiently waiting for this one, it's going to be another great fight for sure, just like the last two fights, it's not boring, and since it could be the last fight, this trilogy will surely end up leaving people entertained after the fight. The question now is, who will win the battle, the majority think Canelo will win, but I think GGG really has a shot here, the underdog is gonna win, my guess.

Check the votes in the poll, majority thinks that GGG will win in this fight.

Maybe you are talking about the sports bookies odds, yeah, they have Canelo as the favorite just like in the first 2 fights. Nevertheless, boxing fans here like you wanted to see that this 3rd fight will be in GGG greatest performance, enough for him to secure a win in the judges card, and please no controversies, we already have that in the first 2 fights.

I guess he is talking about the bookies odds as we all know that Canelo is a heavy favorite.

Now though Canelo is a firm -390 favorite (bet $390 to win $100) with FanDuel to beat GGG again, while Golovkin is a +290 underdog (bet $100 to win $290).

It has not change, the odds are still the same. Well, hopefully we are right here as personally I like to see GGG taking a revenge by a big win.
