Seems to be that the Middle East is the preferred destinations of most fight, the Usyk vs Joshua will be in Saudi.

So it make sense if ever Bivol will reconsider a rematch with Canelo, it could be good venue for the fight.

However, it's up to Canelo, he need to win against GGG first and we will see what will the plan. If he is chasing for a 5th world title then Cruiserweight could be his next, but who knows, if the money is right for a Bivol fight and then probably it will be their best shot.

Canelo won't be that interested. Hosting the match in United States is beneficial for him and the organizers in terms of increased revenue (gate collections, sponsorships.etc). That said, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are not bad options. There are a few advantages as well, such as the lack of taxes on ticket sales and endorsements. It is up to Canelo. He is the cash cow of boxing right now and Bivol by himself can't attract a lot of revenue in terms of PPV buys (most of the PPV revenue comes from the United States).

I already anticipated that Canelo will still be the favorite in the bookies list this time but I expect that this time, Canelo won't have some help from the judges because this might be their final match, so a just and clean fight is really needed this time especially for GGG's situation.

But if Canelo will win this time then he can chose to move down or move up and challenge any boxer in light-heavy before he decides to have a rematch against Bivol as Bivol already said that he's not interesting to fight Canelo in a non-title fight.

Bivol may not agree to a fight against Canelo in the United States. Because his payment for the last fight is still blocked due to the sanctions against Russia. He may prefer fighting in the Middle East, but that may be unacceptable and financially unviable for Canelo. Bivol needs to fight in the United States, if there is a mandatory title challenge. But he is not going to do that for non-title fights. And I don't see a clear solution here. Bivol may not get any payment if he takes part in any activity inside the US. Another solution would be to move the fight to Mexico. I guess Canelo would be OK with that?

Is that right? Didn't know about that at all because I thought that the boxing industry got that cleared including the issues of the fight that won't be sanctioned because of the ongoing war between Russia against Ukraine.

Well, if that is the issue right there then Bivol shouldn't agree to have a rematch with Canelo (if that will happen soon) if the fight will take place again on US soil. Mexico or somewhere in UAE will still be favorable for the both parties as I think money will always follow Canelo.

And I am surprised people choosing Canelos next opponent, like he has already beaten GGG. It might turn that there will be a necessity to make a fourth fight, because it will be a draw and both will have 1-1 record.

Part of the speculation and you just need to let it be.

Since Canelo has tons of advantages in this fight, that makes most speculators believe that he will win this trilogy fight against GGG.

And disregarding the result of this trilogy, it does make sense that people talk about Canelo's next opponent because it's unclear whether he will still push his journey at Light HeavyWeight or will remain in his comfort zone even though he's already an undisputed fighter on it and no more challenges left there.

Yes, it is really very unfortunate for Bivol not receiving his purse, but he said that in May right after he defeated Canelo. So hopefully by this time he could have gotten his money already, I assumed.

It could have been sanction by the boxing body, but if you watch closely, the national anthem or Russia wasn't played  (which is the practice to play the national anthem of both countries) and he is even barred from carrying a Russian flag.

So far, only one thing is clear that four years have passed since the last fight between Canelo and Golovkin, and if Canelo has become stronger during this time, then GGG has become four years older, of course he should not be underestimated, but it seems to me that it is not worth expecting much either.

My same thought too. Although this is still a super-huge event, this is the type of fight that I can take a pass when there are other more interesting kinds of stuff to do. But if old GGG scores an upset or somehow makes the fight close then I will watch the replay. Grin

It is pretty clear that Canelo over the years evolved into a different level fighter after becoming undisputed in super-middleweight and snatching a belt at light-heavyweight. While GGG obviously depreciated as a fighter and another thing is he will be moving up in weight too which I believe will be his first time to fight as a full super-middleweight.

I think it's more on GGG really going down as a fighter after their fight, but he still keeps on winning against B grade fighter at 160 so it's all good for him. I guess it's going to be debatable as how the careers of both of this fighters where. GGG just remaining on 160 and could be one of the best in this division. And Canelo having 4 belts from 154 to 175. Could be both though a sho-in for the HOF after their retirement.

Beterbiev, rematch with Bivol. Why dont you consider Canelo loosing weight and going lower than super middleweight division? Why not even try Chris Eubank Jr from middleweight ? He could be a good challenge for Canelo.

I don't think Canelo can make 160 lbs now, he has out grown this weight division. Although, the first and second GGG vs Canelo fight was contested on 160 lbs, but Canelo has move to 168 lbs and now they are going to fight in the trilogy at this weight.

And I am surprised people choosing Canelos next opponent, like he has already beaten GGG. It might turn that there will be a necessity to make a fourth fight, because it will be a draw and both will have 1-1 record.

I think they are just speculating as what will be Canelo's option after this fight, Bivol, Beterviev at 175? Or Canelo still going to fight at his comfortable weight of 168 lbs?

If I remember it right about Canelo's contract this year, he is about to face 3 fighters this year until 1Q next year, Dmitry Bivol, Gennady Golovkin, and I don't know who is the 3rd possible fighter. After this trilogy, it's not recommended by Canelo's camp to meet Bivol right away and ask for a rematch as they think Canelo is not ready yet to face Bivol. Much worst if Canelo will lose this trilogy as his chance for a rematch against Bivol will now become slimmer.

For now, let's wait for the result of this trilogy fight. Just around a month to go and we will now see this fight that was hoped for years.

Maybe it's Charlo or Beterviev or Benavidez. Probably the camp of Canelo will have to rethink their options after this fight. I mean it could be a disaster if they directly go to Bivol right away as you have said.

Barely a month now for this fight, the time is ticking, for sure as the fight gets closer, we will here a lot of hype, interviews, "experts" opinion on this fight as who will win, boxers predicting what will be the outcome and then we will see a lot of personalities in the arena itself.

I quite remember that almost nobody, including me, thought that Bivol can really defeat and upset Canelo who is the heavy favorite at that time because we know that Canelo has already defeated one boxer in light-heavy. We also made some speculations that Bivol is kind of unfocused because his family was left in Russia when the war broke out. But Bivol proved to us that he can still successfully defend his belt given the situation he's on.

Sooner or later, Canelo and Bivol will again face each other for a rematch because super-middle is a kind of boring division to Canelo as he's already undisputed at the said division.

Very possible, he (Canelo) will collect his paycheck first from this division after facing GGG,

He already understands that fame will be followed by lots of money. He will be using his fame now just like the way
Mayweather did before retiring.

My point is Canelo and his camp will explore again after this fight and like how you predicting things, I agree that sooner
or later, he might be asking for a rematch against Bivol.

but for now, i want to see how will canelo perform opposite GGG. if in case he will lose from this fight, it is not the end of his boxing career. he may really ask for the re-match with bivol. as he already knew the power of bivol, he should know how to prepare for this fight to redeem himself, if he can really defeat bivol this time around. anyway, am looking forward for canelo and GGG's match. canelo is still the favourite here though.

Indeed, he is still the favorite as ore fans believes that Canelo can still beat GGG.

Bookies still favoring Canelo as they used in each fight that he has ever since he beat GGG, it's a good preparation
to bring the hype back and redeem himself after that defeat by Bivol.

He can use moving back to that same division and call for the rematch or he can explore for other options that he has
while he is still young and in his prime age.

I already anticipated that Canelo will still be the favorite in the bookies list this time but I expect that this time, Canelo won't have some help from the judges because this might be their final match, so a just and clean fight is really needed this time especially for GGG's situation.

Yes, Bivol and Canelo might face in the rematch. However, Bivol makes it clear that if that's not a title match, he will ignore Canelo.

Bivol's next target is another title and probably against Beterviev.

Canelo really needs tons of improvement to challenge these champions.

That is good and Bivol is reasonable enough though because why would he accept Canelo's request for a rematch if there's nothing in the line and it will be just a fight for redemption in Canelo's favor and nothing for Bivol if the Russian boxer will win.

An undisputed match in the light-heavyweight division looks interesting though Grin two LHW champions with a flawless record especially Beterbiev who always win by a way of TKO or KO.

He had a hard time against Bivol already, and I read that Beterviev is far more superior than Bivol. So in that case maybe Canelo against Beterviev might be the same outcome, Canelo will lose against the natural lightweight, so it's better to stay away from Beterviev and test himself if he can get a rematch with Bivol and win.

And if I remember correctly, everytime GGG pointed out the tainted meat issue and how Canelo just got a slap on the wrist for being positive, GGG is somewhat mad and fuming about that topic.
Yep Beterbiev have 100% KO rate, it's an insane achievement moreover he fight against a good boxers, not the cherry picked one. Since there's only 2 champions on light heavyweight, that's why many people wanted to see Beterbiev vs Bivol, but it seems we will see a rematch Bivol vs Canelo first.
That's because Canelo vs Bivol will generate more money and for the promoter of both boxers, it's just a 50/50 fight although Bivol won the first fight. I'm sure the betting odds will be close but I would still choose Bivol to win again.

Anyway the fight between Canelo vs GGG will happen on the next month and I don't see the odds are changed to favor on GGG, actually GGG is more and more become an underdog.
Not surprised with that, Canelo is younger and still one of the hottest boxers now, so people would think no way GGG would win this possible last fight.

I want Canelo to test Beterviev next, that will be a great fight if ever he wins against GGG here. But it looks like he wanted to avenge his defeat to Bivol but let's see.

This fight is just a month away, for sure either GGG or Canelo will go to the public more for an interview to hype the fight. Let's see what's Canelo response with regards to GGG insinuation that he uses PED during their first fight.

Anyhow, steroids or not, GGG should beat him in this trilogy, erases the ghost of that those fight and give Canelo his second defeat in succession and bring him back to where he belongs.

Well.. even I want Golovkin to beat Canelo. But how realistic is it? This is not 2017, when Golovkin clearly had an upper hand in his fight (Canelo still managed to steal the fight thanks to Adelaide Byrd). 5 years have passed and Golovkin is now nearing his retirement. At this point, I am not expecting much. Still I would say that odds (>4.00) are clearly underestimating Golovkin. I will be placing a bet in favor of Golovkin, but at the same time I would admit that Canelo is clearly having an upper hand in this fight.

I think this esteemed from Canelo being tested positive banned substance clenbuterol on 2 occasions. But he blamed it to the tainted meat he consumed in Mexico. This is prior to their first fight in May 2018.

Although a lot of Mexican boxers have been tested positive as well with Clen due to meat consumption as well.

Well.. you need to admit that in the world of sports, there are two set of rules. One rule for the Americans, and another one for the non-Americans. If Golovkin had tested positive for Clenbuterol, then he will be banned for life, with no questions asked and no possibility for appeal. In case of Canelo, since he is an American he managed to get away. And this happens very regularly. Remember Maria Sharapova getting banned for Meldonium, while Simone Biles was let off despite her positive test for Methylphenidate claiming that she used that drug as ADHD medication?

Of course no one would ban Canelo, even if he inject himself during weigh-ins, because he is a milking cow of boxing. Of course Canelo is taking some "extra medicine". Look at his body during his first fight against GGG, and against Plant. Skinny vs tiny bull, but the guy is in same weight class and those few lbs difference cant change body so much. Anyway, even if Canelo would be caught with something in him, GGG would still give him a good fight and competition.
Yep, that's true, he is the cash cow and you can see that he gets almost all the favor, even in the fight against Bivol. We saw it clearly that he was dominated and yet the judges want it to be close as possible and so it doesn't reflect the real sore.

Anyhow, steroids or not, GGG should beat him in this trilogy, erases the ghost of that those fight and give Canelo his second defeat in succession and bring him back to where he belongs.
