I agree, it was a bold prediction by one of the legends, Bernard Hopkins. Although Canelo is no longer with them (Golden Boy), he is still ion the bandwagon,  Grin. So we respect that.

But then again, boxers, boxing 'experts' and fans have its own speculation. Even in our community, and for us we wanted to see GGG winning the fight, it will be good if this is going to be by stoppage or knock out. But we wanted to see at the end, his hands being raised as the winner.
I respect Hopkins he has done a lot for boxing as a boxer and as a promoter, he could have made a prediction that Canelo will win against GGG by the decision but for Canelo knocking out GGG easily I just don't know where this coming from, that's to much confidence on Canelo and a big disrespect for GGG, he should back it up if he is confident on his prediction by daring anyone for 1 million bets, he might eat his own words I am on the community that GGG still has what it takes to beat him after GGG has never been dominantly beaten or even knocked out.
He might be thinking that GGG is already old and Canelo who came from a dissapointing lose will try to redeem himself. I know he will be wrong because GGG is not an easy opponent, although Canelo won the last fight but the last two fights was very controversial, which means no clear winner in the eyes of the fans.

No disrespect to Hopkins and others like Roy Jones, however, let me pointed out Bernard predictions on Canelo vs Bivol,

Fast forward to 0:24 and you will hear what his thoughts on the fight and according to him Canelo will "smashed" Bivol. But the complete opposite happens in the fight, and Canelo lost the fight. So he got completely wrong with his prediction, just saying.

Hopkins is like the Charles Barkley of the NBA who's prediction are completely wrong, LOL.. Although they are great boxers, but they can never guarantee who will win the fight since both boxers are capable to fight even if we have the favorite and the underdog.

I think this is only for the Canelo vs Bivol prediction, Bivol was really the underdog in that fight and even pro boxers pick Canelo to win, and he should be dominating Bivol.

But going on to this fight, for sure in the beginning we really like Canelo, but when he started to be the cash cow and can get all the things he want, like being tested with PED but he was able to get away with it without any repercussions. Then he become arrogant and brandish and thinks that no one can beat him not even GGG. And it was clear day and night robbery by the jury, in the first fight and then worst on the second. So for us boxing fans, we want to see GGG win with a statement, stoppage/TKO/KO.

Or, people here are tired of Canelo winning fight and wants to see him being beaten, followed by a tremendous recovery with a beautiful KO of some top3-top5 of middleweight. Or people here wants to see GGG wins and retiring after a win over his toughest opponent.

That Canelo's continuous winning streak got already spoiled by Dmitry Bivol last May 2022.

That was Canelo's first loss since being defeated by Floyd Mayweather Jr. in September 2013. Around 15 wins of him within 9 years was being cut by Bivol. That was a tough winning streak but Canelo founds a good opponent which even tagged as a heavy underdog prior to that fight, and the underdog is Dmitry Bivol.

I have voted for GGG, because I just want to see Canelo loosing. That is so simple. I just want this guy to go down from the sky to earth and be among regular people. I am just tired of his "I am the greatest", "My legacy", "I am number 1 in boxing".

Looks like the same reason with others as well. Canelo Alvarez on their last media press conference about the trilogy throws unnecessary foul words to GGG which the latter found unusual to him as he knows Canelo will just trash talk if his opponent started to trash talk him.

Maybe to contribute to hype a fight because Canelo thinks he will not get the usual number of viewers to watch that fight compare to his average views since he came from a loss? Who knows. I found that Canelo trash talk too was not necessary and GGG is just silent. Good and humble response by him.

I know that Canelo has losses in his boxing record, but the point was that people remember him winning all the time. Canelo won here, Canelo won there, Canelo won that belt, Canelo got that car, Canelo earned that much in the last fight and etc. Canelo everywhere. People are tired of his success. As if you see two people tic tac toe, you see someone is winning 50 times in a row and you start to cheer for the guy that looses all the time.

LOL.. I can see a lot of posts against Canelo. Being a fan of Golovkin myself, I could agree to many of these posts. Canelo can't be blamed for what the jury did. But in the end, he benefited from it and refused to acknowledge the fact that Golovkin was robbed of a win. And we saw a repeat of that during his fight against Bivol. The only difference was that Bivol completely dominated that fight and despite the fact that the jury tried really hard to score a win for Canelo, it was simply not in their hands.

Although I see Canelo has the upper hand in this fight and more of having an advantage as currently, he is in his prime, same as you, I'm also rooting for GGG to win. Not because I hate Canelo or what but GGG only has a few shots left remaining in his career. Canelo if he loses here still has more fights to climb for stardom.

I also like to see another scene where Canelo is not announced as a winner by the referees. Maybe just for my own satisfaction, not a bad attitude on me I guess. Like to see him being silent again after a loss. That might make him more humble especially when he is still climbing the rank. Being on top makes Canelo's head big thinking no one in his league can take him down.

But I just want to clarify again that I don't have any hate towards Canelo. As I mentioned, I just want to see him lose for my own satisfaction.

I understand your point as in the first place, the trilogy will not be initiated and planned for long if there are no doubts and questions about the first result on which Canelo claimed he won already twice that's why before, he's not interested in the trilogy. In fairness though with Canelo, he really shows explosiveness in that fight but it's just that, the entire match is close that any judges will have difficulty scoring.

And since Canelo is the current "cash cow" there are speculations and rumors that judges might be favored him. But that won't be easy as in the event that GGG shows pure dominance in most rounds, I doubt there will be an unfair judgment on the result.

I raised this topic (jury bias) a few weeks back, because I saw the same during the Bivol vs Canelo fight. Bivol completely dominated the fight between these two, but in the end the scorecard(115-113, 115-113, 115-113) was a lot closer than what I thought it should have been. The writing on the wall is clear. Canelo is the cash cow and he needs to be saved at any cost. A second consecutive defeat will not only sink his career, but will also cause huge losses to firms such as Golden Boy and DAZN.

You have a point though and I think there are lots of speculators who also ended up to that conclusion.

Despite Bivol turning Canelo into a punching bag and making the latter becomes frustrated, the final tally score is still close.

However, since it's clear as the sky that Bivol dominates Canelo in the most rounds of their fight, it does not make sense to manipulate the scores as that will create havoc as the fight should be a landslide win by Bivol.

But disregarding that speculation of a possible "rigged", I'm expecting that the result of the fight of this trilogy should be fair and square.

You said it right, there are people like you who wanted him to go down, while promoters would love to see more fans and gamblers

to engage a lot of possible converted money when people start of talking about the incoming fight. We really don't know how both fighters will

show and how they will deliver their strategy. All we wanted is to see them both healthy and convince the fans that they deserve the win

in this third time of facing each other inside the ring.

This is the current result of the voting on our poll

Canelo Alvarez   - 9 (26.5%)
GGG   - 24 (70.6%)
Draw   - 1 (2.9%)
Total Voters: 34

We have GGG winning here but on Bernard Hopkin's prediction he confidently predicts that Canelo will win against GGG by stoppage, this is a bold prediction

Quote
“I say about a seventh, possibly sixth round. I don’t see this being a fight that’s going to be exciting as the first two.

“I think this will be a clear, clear, decision that doesn’t go 12 rounds.

“So I am predicting that Canelo will find his groove and make it look even easier and then get a stoppage around the sixth or seventh round.”

Really bold prediction considering that GGG is coming on a very strong showing against Murata while Canelo was dominantly beaten by Bivol I don't know what Hopkin saw on GGG that he'll be knocked out by Canelo and Canelo will easily beat GGG, I hope someone challenges Hopkins on his prediction.

Both fighters are good at seeking the opportunity in knocking out their opponents and they really hate each other much more in their first two fights so expect fireworks this time.

A knockout victory in either Canelo or Golovkin will definitely end their long-standing dispute and the fight will be remembered because it will be the 1st time in their dispute that the fight has been finished with a KO, don't know who will grab that score nor who will go down as of now. But you are certainly right both of them are good at seeking a KO finish so let's expect that because both of them wanted to settle this dispute once and for good.
A KO victory will without a doubt decide who is the winner of this trilogy, however it is not something I believe it will happen, Canelo has a strong punch but he lacks punching frequency while GGG seems to not have enough punching power to KO Canelo.

Now I would love for the trilogy to end that way, it is just that I do not believe either one of the boxers has what it is necessary to KO the other, as they are relatively close when it comes to their skill levels.

If GGG wins via decision it is really possible for the quadrilogy  Grin. Since it was a draw on their first fight, Canelo on second, and if GGG on third via decision then that will leave the audience hanging, so the GGG VS Canelo IV will likely happen.  Though I have a doubt about the chance of GGG winning if the decision came from the judges.

Although I picked Canelo by KO in the survey, my heart is with GGG as always. I just always follow my head rather than my heart when it comes to betting and predicting.
Same here, I pick Canelo because he have beaten GGG for two times and at the same time I think the trilogy wouldn't be biased if GGG won in the first fight as GGG clearly won for almost people view expect the judges and Canelo's family.

Honestly the odds for Canelo 1.28x isn't bad since most of his fight, his odds is really low as below 1.10x, even for small bettors it's still profitable.

I'd say in boxing, upset is high likely wouldn't happen, it's different with the other sports.

What are the probabilities then? Personally, I'm not betting based on probability, though GGG is an underdog, but since I like him to win I would still bet on him to win, I'm not a taker of a an almost sure win based on the odds, I'd like to gamble more on high odds.

Then this is the chance that we all have been waiting for since Canelo is the underdog. Same here, majority wanted to see Golovkin win so it's not going to be a bad bet after all. And in case he lose, then we can change that fact, and as fans, we have to accept it (although it will be frustrating if there is another robbery.

Just to note though, in the last 2 fights, it seems that judges are favoring Canelo specially in the last 3 rounds. I do hope that Golovkin knows this so that he will make the right adjustment and win those.

Canelo vs golovkin 3 will show us who is the best the past two fight is little bit unclear but now is time after this fight we will know who is the best among these two veteran and good boxers. If ggg will win in this fight then I think there's a another rematch which is ggg and Canelo 4. But if canelo will win this match then without any problems then   canelo is the best. What ever who is our bet of this fight for sure  its worthy and exciting.
