What I mean is that Canelo had to defeat GGG in the first  half of the fight otherwise its him that is going to be in trouble because GGG seem to be getting better when the fight last longer. But we'll if his age is not making Golov rusty.

Not sure about that strong stamina in the later rounds for GGG and he's turning better at late rounds? Is that what you trying to say? Remember that he's up against a prime Canelo and containing him at every rounds needs a lots more and better stamina. GGG's stamina is surely not the same now compare to his prime. He's already at the retirement period of his career so expect some signs that he showed before won't be seen now on this match.

However, since GGG makes and force Canelo shows his limits, we can assume that he can last longer on this fight. I just don't want the fight will end up in Decision as the cash cow king will surely the victorious and that's Canelo unless the fight is clearly being dominated by GGG.

I believe that GGG will last longer, he has never been KO in his life as a boxer, so I would never have a doubt about his performance in this coming fight. We have to remember that GGG is trying to win, and it's his only chance to prove that he is the better boxer, so expect that he will be more eager to win in this fight.

The fight against GGG is in fact an effort to recover some of the reputation he lost against Bivol, if he happened to lose again then not only this will be a short term hit against his reputation but also a long term one, as this would mean an old GGG could beat him when his better days are behind him.

The trilogy has nothing to do with Canelo's recovering his reputation or what because he loses to Bivol.

That trilogy match was already arranged even prior to the fight of GGG vs Murata and Canelo vs Bivol. In other words, it's already set in stone regardless of the result of their respective match on which GGG won against Murata but Canelo loses to Bivol.

There's even an article or I think rumors, saying that both Canelo and GGG should win on their respective matches in order for their trilogy to happened for real like it's a pre-requisite or ticket for that event. But look, even Canelo loses against Bivol, the trilogy still push because it won't affect much his hype and will still gather lots of ticket sales as Canelo vs GGG III is already several years in the making and this time, it will happen for real.

The poll shows that users here mostly sides with GGG, not because they pity him but because GGG can still give a hard time and make Canelo struggle despite of his age now. I'm quite sure about that though because judging GGG's performance against Murata recently, he can still dance well and can still give tough punches.
A GGG-Canelo 4 is quite premature for now, let's see first if what this trilogy could bring to us.
Premature as they are still going to take each other this coming sept 17 and we are not sure if Alvarez is willing to risk losing two back-to-back fight, and with pride inside him it will be a tough fight for both the two, unless there's something behind that we are not seeing, if money will talk louder than the punches of these two warriors.

We might see part 4 of this rivalry, we never know until the judges announce who wins.

More on how both fighters will perform inside the ring and how they will end this upcoming fight to entertain the fans and viewers.

Because  of GGG last fight, one would really speculate he still has it considering Murata looks  more agile during that fight than what Canelo could bring. GGG indeed he still  has it, Canelo just have to beat GGG in the first half of the fight if this doesn't happen, Canelo will be in  big trouble and either UD or him down the ground.

Losing 2 consecutive fights from Bivol and GGG will be a soul burying defeat for Canelo.
Without a doubt consecutive losses will damage his image beyond belief, Bivol won very clearly against him showing he was not ready to go up a division and that maybe he will never be.

That's not what happened in the last two fights though, Canelo has the edge over GGG that's why he is still listed as the favorite to win, in fact he is the heavy favorite to win, so it should be GGG starting aggressive and will try to look for opening to hurt Canelo because if this goes to scorecards, I doubt the decision will favor on GGG.

Losing 2 consecutive fights from Bivol and GGG will be a soul burying defeat for Canelo.
Of course, that's why Canelo is also preparing for this fight although GGG is already old.

Presummably, what Canelo should do in this 3rd fight. I'm not telling what had happened.

@ 4.10 that's going to attract more gamblers and fans to bring out decent amount of money to bet for GGG, a lot of people still believe that even GGG is no longer on his prime,

That was good odds. GGG having @4.10 is something unusual even though he is up again the prime Canelo Alvarez. I hope for more increased odds while the fight is approaching. Still, a long way to go and there should be odds adjustment at both.

But in any case, taking @4.10 odds should be considered picking now.

Aside from that, others maybe will try to support GGG for the last time just in case he will retire if he loses to Canelo in this fight.

Golovkin has so far given no hint of retirement. He is training so hard, and despite his age he looks extremely fit (when compared to other athletes of this age). Even if he loses against Canelo, he may chose to continue for another 2-3 years IMO. At this point, I don't see any reason for him to retire. If somehow he manages an upset win against Canelo, then the question of retirement won't even arise. BTW, what was the age when Mayweather announced his retirement? If I am not wrong, he was 42 when he retired.
There's no right or wrong about that speculation because yes Golovkin hasn't given us even a bit of hint on when would he plan to retire or if this would be his last fight. And I agree that if Golovkin will defeat Canelo this time, his retirement plan will be postponed and that's obvious, but my speculation is that if he'll be defeated in this trilogy then I think that this will be his last fight.

Mayweather was 40 at the time of his retirement, he announced it after he fought McGregor in the ring which gave him a record of 50-0.

Yes, of course, GGG is still trying to achieve another success and a win here will be a big success for him, maybe he can consider retiring after that as he will have a sweet retirement coming from a big win. However, if money will be considered, then he will again give Canelo another fight and that would make the fans happy either.

GGG vs Canelo 4?

I posted about this possibility a few weeks ago. But that will only happen in case Golovkin wins this time. If Canelo wins, then there is no chance for another fight, as he can claim that this time he won without any controversy. But even if he loses, I think that Golovkin will continue with his fights. He can easily go on for another 3-4 years before he retires. And from his interviews, I get an idea that he is still hungry for more. Unlike the case with Mayweather, who looked like he was fed up and bored with all the fights towards the end of his career.

At 160 lbs, I think Golovkin can still go if ever he loses this fight against Canelo. And there could be scenario that if he wins in 168 lbs (as this is the weight that they are going to fight), Golovkin can either stay or go back down to his favorite weight. So we shall see, if we are correct in our votes and Golovkin win, then maybe a 4th fight might be in the offing.

Obviously, a loss of GGG here will mean that the rivalry is over and GGG will likely consider retiring as well because he is not getting any younger. However, let us not think of that for now, let's see the outcome of this fight and hopefully GGG will have more fights to come after this.

I don't think it's unusual though, if my memory serves me right, that's about the same odds or close enough odds on their second fight.

Sports bookies knows that eventhough Canelo lost to Bivol, he is still in his prime and duplicate again the win (although it's debatable). And this is Canelo's best weight which they are going to contest to, so all advantage points to Canelo and that's why the huge gap in the odds.

Agreed! Canelo is not that young anymore when he fought Mayweather and it wasn't his 1st time fighting a heavy name that time or 1st time fighting outside Mexico, people should stop patronizing Canelo because he's not really standing where he is now if he didn't got some help with the judges along with some connection he established in the industry.
Based on his last 7 fights with the exception of his loss against Bivol he wins by knockouts and unanimous decisions he deserves those wins and where he is he is right now, we must give credit to the guy he fights who is holding the title unfortunately he fell short on his quest in the heavyweight division

Yes, you have a point. There is indeed some fights where Canelo has no doubt deserved that win because it was won comfortably and his foes that time wasn't an easy to defeat either. He surely deserved to be an undisputed fighter in supper middle weight but he should know his boundaries too and LHW is literally not for him.

I see no interest Canelo vs Bivol 2. Their first fight was enough to tell who is better. But as to third fight against GGG, I dont know what Canelo should do next or who should he fight. Cleaning again whole middleweight division is boring, moving up - perhaps is a good idea, moving down - his opponent will be extra fast and pumped Canelo could have more troubles than in LH.

Couldn't agree more, Canelo was defeated comfortably because that is not his comfortable division. Canelo might be still lethal but he will have a hard time in-terms of speed because he is adding weights to his body that would take a toll to his agility and aggressiveness, he shouldn't purse a rematch because the case will be the same and he will just adding another defeat in his record. If there was no help from judges, I bet the scores will be much wider in gap.

As of now, the odds sound crazy for me. 4.10 for Golovkin win? Remember that he had the advantage during the first and second fights (although jury helped Canelo). Despite such a performance, odds are so unfavorable. Doesn't make any sense. I was expecting biased odds, partly because of Mexican and Hispanic support for Canelo within the United States. But this has gone too far. For Golovkin, the odds are now so attractive that anyone who doesn't place a bet in his favor will be making a big mistake.
