Ruiz is actually insulting Golovkin. He is indirectly stating that GGG is incapable of defeating Canelo. I am not sure how Golovkin would respond to it. From what I have seen so far, Golovkin has stayed out of theatrics.

Maybe a part to hype the fight that's why Ruiz is joining the party.

Remember recently, when Canelo trash-talk and insult GGG in their press conference which the latter didn't respond. GGG was surprised by Canelo's action saying it was unusual of him and not really necessary to do so in front of the media.

I like the attitude of GGG there not reacting to Canelo's behavior. Maybe GGG thinks that Canelo is still under the effect of his bitter loss against Bivol and may be shy to face him as he won his recent match against Murata.

I'm just saying that the most chances is that GGG can only afford to win by a decision either SD or UD or even MD, but a knockout chance is also possible even if he's already 40 years old. I still believe that GGG can still bring more load even at his age.

I'm looking forward to GGG winning this fight as Canelo still has lots of chances to rise in stardom even though he will lose here. But even though I'm biased with GGG here, it's difficult for me to think that he can KnockOUt Canelo for the win. Canelo might currently still be in the effect of losing against Bivol and for sure, he might be more careful now in his next fight and won't do some aggressive actions without caution.

GGG is surely the underdog but it doesn't mean an upset will not happen.

Same here, I would love to see GGG win before he decides on hanging his gloves and based on the poll that the OP had made, most of the users here are also in favor of GGG but that will be a hard fought challenge before he can achieve that win in this trilogy he waited for years. GGG may be good and all in his age but we can't also disregard Canelo's features because he is still at the peak of his prime and he Canelo may had experienced an upset lately but this time is different, this is his comfortable weight division.

Obviously Andy Ruiz is letting his friendship with Canelo to cloud his judgment, in boxing there is no one that is truly invincible, a boxer can always have a bad day or they receive a bad punch and then the whole fight or even their whole career changes because of that.

And he should know about that as Andy Ruiz is a person which accomplished exactly that on his fight against Joshua, when he was able to drop him surprisingly during the third round of their first fight when no one was expecting something like that.

Ruiz is actually insulting Golovkin. He is indirectly stating that GGG is incapable of defeating Canelo. I am not sure how Golovkin would respond to it. From what I have seen so far, Golovkin has stayed out of theatrics. Barring a few statements after the biased scoring during the first two fights, he has hardly ever lost his temper. On the other hand, all these statements will pile up more and more pressure on Canelo. Already he has to deal with accusations that the scoring for the previous fights was biased.

What do you think guys of Andy Ruiz's prediction here:

Canelo vs. Golovkin 3: Andy Ruiz gives his prediction for the fight: "Nobody can beat Canelo in his weight"

It's make sense for me to "The Destroyer" having that kind of prediction since he knows personally Canelo as they worked along for a long period and they are really close. With that said, we should expect him to know at least his strengths and weaknesses of Canelo. It's a good point too that Canelo is undefeated at 168. But even with that, if Canelo is really dominant at that weight, his first 2 fights against GGG result in a controversy that results in organizing this trilogy.

Out of topic but Andy Ruiz is set to fight Luis "King Kong" Ortiz on September 4 and no doubt he's the Favorite to win this match.

If Canelo is invincible, then sportsbooks will give odds of 20+ for GGG. Right now, his odds stand at 3.84, which means that a lot of people believe that he has a realistic chance of defeating Canelo. We are not claiming that Golovkin has higher chances to win this fight. Canelo is the favorite by a large distance, but you can't discount the chances of Golovkin. I have great respect for Andy Ruiz, and he is free to have his own opinion. But I don't agree with him when he says that Canelo can't be defeated. There is no such thing in boxing. Canelo is no god.

Like you, I do believe that the two fighters will not disappoint the fans, they will bring entertainment and the feeling of being satisfied
after watching the fight.

They really should. Since this trilogy will be the end of their meetings, we can expect that they will perform at their very limit. There will be no other rematch that will happen and this third fight will be the last. Canelo and GGG will do everything to make this fight satisfying. If we refer to their previous fights, they are clashing and exchanging fists most of the time. They are doing defense but mostly, they fought close and sees who will be left standing strong.

Canelo has a strong chin, and GGG has a sturdy upper body, they have each advantage, and who will show a lack of stamina first will be the turning point.

Let's hope to see a good toe-to-toe fight from these two extraordinary fighters, and how will they end this rivalry.

I would expect that because the last two fights are a toe to toe fights, they would not disappoint use, this is going to be a very entertaining fight and probably just like the last two fights, it will still be a close fight if there's no KO that's gonna happen.

Both are eager to knock down one another, so this upcoming one will probably be expected to be more entertaining. Fans are longing for this trilogy to happen and now that both parties already agree, more fans will be expecting to watch this fight. More hypes will be there when the fight is nearing.

There is only one reason to explain that, Canelo Alvarez cannot really afford to have an additional defeat in his record that is why he denied GGG a trilogy last 2019 when it was first proposed. Sure the jury will be on his side trying to cover and help him in terms of score just like what they did recently against Bivol, but what if Canelo will be knocked out? I don't think the jury can still help him if that is the situation.

LOL.. the easiest way for Golovkin to win would be to knockout Canelo. But the big question is whether he can do it at this age. If it gets to decision by the jury, then it is going to be tricky for GGG. And the indications are not very encouraging. Even during the fight between Canelo and Bivol, there were accusation of bias from the judges (obviously favoring Canelo). Anyway, at this point Golovkin doesn't have much to lose, and in all probability he will not make much noise even if he is not satisfied with the scoring.

Everyone could argue about those accusations because it was really clear and frankly true that the judges was in favor to Canelo, but then again, even if Canelo was favored he still lose the fight and the judges cannot of course make an exemption that time as they would surely face heavy charges if indeed they will proclaim Canelo on that said fight.
Back to this fight, that question will remain a question until GGG proves that he can still give Canelo a hard time and defeat him even at his age. Nobody would know for sure as an upset or worse KO is always a possibility even if the chance we're talking here are so slim.
I guess you are right with that last statement. We don't know what will be the outcome of this upcoming fight. Only these two fighters will conclude the fate of this fight. Even now that he is almost on his retirement stage, he can still throw a heavy punch that can bring Canelo down. We can only conclude after the fight, right?

Let's hope to see a good toe-to-toe fight from these two extraordinary fighters, and how will they end this rivalry.

As long as he clearly won every round, GGG might pull an upset over the decision.

Although not officially confirmed that there's a flaw in judging in favor of Canelo, it's hard to fight against scorecards when fighting Canelo. In Canelo's previous fight against Bivol, the latter make sure that he will dominate the former every round for the public to see that he is owning Canelo if ever the scorecards turned against him.

If this fight will be close and end up in a decision, I doubt GGG has a chance to win.

As we know, business.

...he may be 40 years old already but he's not that easy to defeat.
I agree with that because in the last two fights against Canelo, all were controversial fights that's why we have this trilogy, who knows, maybe GGG will surprise the boxing community and he will KO Canelo Alvarez, I'm sure lots of bettors will be happy due to the good odds.

I don't know. I want Golovkin to win, but at the same time, expecting him to knock out one of the best boxers in the world right now will be a bit of over expectation. If Golovkin somehow wins, I don't think that it will be from KO. I don't think that at 40 years, he has the power to do KO to Canelo. And then again, if it comes to points, then Canelo will be having an advantage. So overall, chances for a GGG victory is pretty small. But upsets do happen in boxing and that is why I am hopeful of a Golovkin victory in September.

That's a fact but we surely can't discard the chance of upset here because we know that Canelo had experience a huge upset recently when he had the most experience and IQ in the ring, it's just that it wasn't his own comfortable weight as he needed to put extra weight to put on that needed pound let the fight happen between him and Bivol.

I'm just saying that the most chances is that GGG can only afford to win by a decision either SD or UD or even MD, but a knockout chance is also possible even if he's already 40 years old. I still believe that GGG can still bring more load even at his age.

There's no doubt that he can do that at his age, the question is can he find an open shot to hit Canelo Hard? GGG is old, might be slower a bit but he still got his power, so if Canelo would be too complacent and would underestimate GGG, then we might see a huge upset here.
Canelo has an iron chin and he has been tested against Bivol who a knock out artist, but he can still survive even Bivol did punches him many times in every rounds. Bivol is more faster than GGG too, so I doubt GGG could knock out Canelo. In other sides, GGG is really hard to win via decision due to don't have reach advantages and biased jury favor on Canelo. If GGG is a boxer who have a fight style of take less damage or dodge like Haney or Mayweather, there's a chance GGG will win via decision.

It's good to see if GGG will turn into a boxer, but I doubt that he will do it against Canelo. And he will never win in the judges eye if he goes on defense like Haney or Floyd or being the technical boxer. Sure he can make Canelo miss, but still he has to score points in return. I think it will still be the same GGG, who will confront Canelo every round and will exchange punch after punch.

There's nothing to change in the style of GGG, his style is very effective, it's just that he loses in the last fight via a close decision by the judges. We were actually entertained in the last 2 fights, so if GGG will turn into Mayweather or Haney style, do you think people would appreciate him?

Exactly mate! GGG will maintain his fighting style because that is what his fans and people are looking for and they loved GGG that way, frankly, it's not new that Canelo has the favor of the judges if the score comes to the judge's hand and we saw it again recently when Canelo fought Bivol. The judges tried to help Canelo in that fight in-terms of the score but they couldn't just let Canelo win as it was really clear that he was outboxed by Bivol who was more comfortable at the weight.

But I agree with the later part of your statement that it's hard to win against judges while fighting Canelo. A cash cow should be protected at all costs. GGG needs to do the same result as Bivol did where judges have no chance to ruin the scorecard in favor of Canelo.

If Canelo loses this match, then his career will be ruined. I am sure that the judges will do all they can to avoid that. Given the massive fan base of Mexican Americans within the United States, it is beneficial for the promoters if Canelo wins. That said, there are a few points to consider here. Canelo is no longer associated with Golden Boy (he was with them for the first two fights) and he is having a deal with Eddie Hearn. On top of that, Canelo had a well publicized spat with Oscar De La Hoya, who is the founder of Golden Boy Promotions.

Even with that iron chin, why did Canelo push through on his limits in those 2 fights against GGG?

It shows that iron chin is not a big issue when facing GGG and he knows already how Canelo fight.

No need for a knockout win but GGG just has to do his usual style.

GGG would be boring if he is like Mayweather, I like his style and I think that's what makes him popular. He maybe older but we never know, this is boxing and we don't know the condition of the boxers fighting on a certain day, so I just hope that GGG will give everything in his last fight with Canelo.
